T e units comprise of an extract and supply fan wit associated
air filter, a plate eat exc anger and optional supplementary
eater (eit er electric or LPHW). T e unit is normally supplied
wit Ecosmart control for automated operation.
Units wit out controls are also available and are identified by
t e letters ‘NC’ after t e unit size. T e installer must select and
fit suitable control equipment to produce t e desired output.
T is includes t e valve, actuator and water circuit needed to
control any LPHW coil fitted.
Units are available wit side access or bottom access. Bottom
access units are identified by t e letters ‘BA’ in t e code.
Extract twinfan units are also available and are identified by
t e letters ‘T’ after t e unit size.

1.1 Handl ng
Always andle t e units carefully to avoid damage and
distortion. Care must be taken to ensure t at any slings used
for oisting or lifting equipment employed does not damage
t e casing or t e control module components.
1.2 Un t Installat on
T e installation, including all external services and controls
s ould be installed in accordance wit t e appropriate aut ority
and must conform to all governing regulations e.g. CDM,
CIBSE, IEE, and in strict accordance wit t e applicable
Building Regulations.
T e fan must be fitted indoors, on a secure surface, away
from sources of water spray or steam generation.
The s de access un t s all be constructed wit removable
panels allowing full maintenance access from t e side.
T e unit s ould be installed by using 4 drop-rods and unistrut
bearers under t e unit (by ot ers figure 1).
W en installing t e unit ensure t at access is still available for
maintenance purposes and removal of filters.
The bottom access un t s all be constructed wit removable
panels allowing full maintenance access from t e bottom.
T e unit s ould be installed by using 4 drop-rods inserted
t roug t e rod oles located on t e four corners of t e fan
extrusion casing and fixed wit studs at t e top and bottom
of t e casing (see figure 2, 2a and 2b). Note that the un t s
only su table for hor zontal mount ng.
