General Information:
•The P1PVKY & P1PVCDKY are coldandambient watercoolers designedfor connectiontoa
mains supplyof potable water.The coolershouldnot beconnectedtowater supplies of
unknown bacterial quality or those thatarenotalreadyfitforhumanconsumption. The machine
should onlybe connectedtoa potable drinkingwatersupply
•Thisunit is suitable for indoor use in domestic, commercial& industrial locations. Theyshould
not besitedinlocations where theymaybe subjectedtorainorsnow
CoolingSystem:
•The P1PVKY & P1PVCDKY models use the OASIS Pressure Vessel DirectChill (PVDC)
coolingtanksystem. The coolingtankis manufactured from304Stainless Steelwhichis non-
corrosiveandinert.
•The coldwater temperature ispreset at the factoryat approximately7°C – thewatertemperature
is controlledbya thermostat thatis locatedonthe backoftheunit. Coldwatertemperatures may
be adjustedvia a slottedscrewonthe bodyof the control(canbe accessedthrough wires on the
condenser). Turningthisscrewinthe clockwise directionwill make thewater colder (andvice
versa)
•The significant benefit of theOASIS PVDC system whencomparedtoso-called“coil onCoil”
DirectChill systems is the increased quantities of coldwater availableondemand.
Ambient Water Circuit:
•The water inthe ambientwatercircuitis not cooled -the temperature ofthe water will be the
same as thetemperature of the water that comes outof thebuildingwater supplyandthe
ambient room temperature. The ambientwatershould be flushedafter longperiods of nonuse
Compressor:
•The compressor operates at220-240Vandat50Hz. Itusesthe hydrofluorocarbonrefrigerant
R134a whichis a non-Ozone depletingsubstance with a Global WarmingPotential of 1,300.
The compressor is controlledbyan electromechanicalthermostat thatcontrols the temperature
of thewater inthe directchillunit
CupDispenser:
•The P1PVCDKY contains an integratedcupdispenser builtintothe topof the cooler. This isthe
onlydifference betweenthe P1PVKYand P1PVCDKYmodels

Self-DrainDripTray:
•The drip traysuppliedwith the P1PVcoolers is fittedwitha self-drainfacility. Toput the self-
drainfacilityintoservice, followtheinstructions listedbelow:
oRemovethe drip tray from the cooler
oRemovethe grille fromthe driptray
oUsingan8mmdiameter drill, drilla hole through the bottomof thedriptraystem
oFita flexible hose of 10mm(or3/8”) diameter onto the stem
oRoute thehose through the partitiontothe rear of the unit –you canrun this hose directly
to a mains waterdrainor connectit toastoragevesselthat will needtobe emptiedat
regular intervals
Water Pipe and Fittings:
•All water connectionfittingsare made bythe JohnGuestCompanyandare approved toNSF
standard 41. The machine is connectedthe water supplybya ” female bulkheadfitting.
•The entire internal water circuitandallthe components whichcomeincontactwithwaterare
foodgrade NSF /WRAS approved
Mounting Feet
•The unit issupplied with4 mountingfeet(packedinside the filtercompartment). These canbe
usedtolevel the cooler on uneven surfaces. To installthe feet, simplyscrew theminto the 4
threadedholesinthemetalbase of the cooler
Water Valves:
•Controlofwaterdispensingis achievedbymeansof 240V ACelectrical solenoidvalves –two
valves are used(one forcoldwaterandone for ambientwater).The valves remainopenwhen
the customer pushesthe dispense button for a drink
Panels:
•All external mouldedpanelsare made from ABS plastic. The materialusedis UVresistant and
meets alCEandULrequirements forfire safety. Allmetal panels are made from galvanised
steelwhichisthen painted. The galvanisedcoating provides increasedresistance torust and
corrosion
Spare Parts:
•OASIS supplies spare parts for allits watercoolers. Please checkthe OASISweb-site at
www.oasis.ie forfull illustratedparts breakdownsthat give fulldetails ofall replacement parts.

Pre-DeliveryInspection:
1. Examine the packagingfor signs of damage –report anydamage tothe haulier.
2. Remove the carton fromthe cooler– cut the strappingtape andliftthe carton fromthe cooler. Store
the cartonandcornerposts forrepacking the cooler prior toshippingit tothe customer.
3. Remove the shippingbagfrom the cooler
4. Carryout a general inspection ofthecooler,ensuringthat :
a) There are no marks orphysicaldamagetothecooler
b) All accessories are present
c) All wires andelectricalconnections are inplace at the backof the cooler
d) All pipes andwaterconnections are inplace
e) That thecooler is cleanand dustfree
5. Install your filtrationsystem (see relevant section in this manual)
6. Flush outthe watercooler
a) Connectthe water supplytothebulkheadfitting at the rear of the unit
b) Connectthe unit to a power supply
c) Caution: The unitis nowlive andsuitable safetyprecautions shouldbetaken
d) Press the dispensingwater forambient temperature water andkeep the button depresseduntilthe
waterfromthe outletruns clear
e) Press the dispensingbutton for cold temperature water andkeepthe button depresseduntilthe
waterfromthe outletruns clear–note thatitwill take some time tobleedallof theair fromthe
coolingtank
f) Carryout a visual inspection foranywaterleaks
g) Disconnectthe powersupplyandmains watersupplyfromthecooler
h) Drain the watercooler (see relevant sectionbelow)
7. Replace the shipping bagover the water cooler

8. Replace the cartonover the topof the cooler
9. The cooleris nowreadyfor transportation tothe customer’s premises
NOTE: Whenever youtransport the cooler toorfromyour premises, you should ensurethat a
shipping bag is placed over the cooler. This willprevent damagetothecabinet caused by coolers
rubbingagainst one another in the back ofthevan or lorry
Drainingthe Water Cooler:
•Isolate the watercooler fromthe mains watersupply– this maybe done by closinganyshut-off
valvefittedtothe installation ortemporarilydisconnectingthe coolerfromthe mains
•Disconnectthe coolerfromthe powersupply
•Remove thetopfrom the unit–removethe two screws attherear of thetop, andlift off the lid
assembly
•Lookingdown onthe unit,disconnectthe coldwater inletas shownin the diagrambelow
•Open the drainvalve atthe rear of theunit
•Remove thescrew holding the pluginposition
•Rotatethe pluganti-clockwise andpullfrom the drainbody
•Allow watertodrainfrom thevalve
•The drainislocated280mmfrom the floor –ensure thatyou place a containerunder the valve
prior toopeningit. Thecontainer needstohave a minimumcapacityof2litres
•Re-assemblethe coolerby followingthe above instructions inthe reverse order

Filter Installation:
The P1PVKY and P1PVCDKY coolerscontaina largefiltercompartmentthat canbe directlyaccessed
from the front oftheunit.
AccessingFilter Compartment:
•Lift outandremovethe drip tray
•Depress theclipvisible through the slot inthe alcoveand swivelthe doorforward
•Removethedoor from the cooler
•The inlet pipe isnowvisible on the lefthandside of the filtercompartment
Installing thefilter system:
•Itis recommendedthatyou use a filtersystem with ” push-fit connections for bothinlet and
outlet
•Refertothe instructionsprovided withthe filtersystem priortocommencinginstallation
•Attachthe filtersystemto the metalcolumnsupport –you candrillholes as requiredfor
mountingscrews
•Cut the inlet pipe and connectthe lowerportiontothe inletsideof the filter systemandthe
upper portiontothe outletside of the filter system

Cooler Installation:
The EuropeanPointof Use Water Distribution Association(EPDWA) provides formalHygiene
Awareness andInstallation trainingcourses. Allstaff involved inthe installationandsanitisingof POU
watercoolers foranEPWDAmember companymust receive this training.
The purpose of thistrainingprogram is toprovide anoverview of POU systemsoffered byOASISand
anintroductiontothebasic guidelinesthatshouldbe followedwheninstallinganOASIS watercooler
onto anexistingmains watersystem.
Itis recommendedthatallcompaniesundertake thenecessaryEPDWA trainingcourses tohelpmaintain
the professional image of theindustry
A documentedsite surveymustbe conductedpriortoinstallinga cooler ina facility. Copies of all
surveys should be held at the installer’s premises. The purpose of the surveyis to ensure thatthe cooler
is installedinasuitable location.
The general guidelines belowshouldbe followed:
•The coolermustbelocatedona floorthatissmooth, level andeasilycleaned.
•Do not locate the cooler indirectsunlight.
•Do not locate the cooler next to a radiator.
•Do not locate the cooler within ordirectlyadjacent totoiletfacilities.
•Do not locate the cooler in constantlydampareas, beneathdrippingpipes, or where water may
collectunderfoot.
The surveyshould examine the following:
•Locationof electricalsupply
oThe cooler shouldbe installedno more than2meters from the nearestelectricalsocket.
oItshouldbe possible toaccess the plugwhenthe cooleris initsfinal position
•Locationof potable mainswater supply
oThe cooler mustbeattachedto a potable mainswater source
oThe length of small bore tubing(usually ”)used to connectthe coolertothe mains
watersupply shouldbe kepttoa minimum andmustnotexceed20meters.
oIf the plannedcooler location is more than 20meters fromthe connectionpoint tothe
mains supply, thena newmains waterfeedwillhavetobe addedtothesupply
Fittings:
Allfittings andpipeworkusedtoattachthe watercoolertothe mainswater supplymustbe approved to
the relevantlocalstandards. Itis recommendedthat fittings approved totheWater Supply(Water
Fittings) regulations inthe UKare used. Suchfittings will be approved by WRAS orKIWA.
These fittings canbe purchasedfrom OASIS or OASIScanreferyou toreputable suppliers of Point-of-
Use parts inyour marketplace.

Installation:
Eachinstallationmustinclude the followingcomponents
•An isolatingand nonreturn valvemust be fittedatthe point of connectiontothewater supply.
•An antileakdevice must be fittedatthe point of connectiontothewatersupplydownstream
of theisolatingandnonreturnvalves.
•Pressure limitingdevices shouldbeinstalledtoprotectthe coolerandfeedpipework from
waterpressuresurges inlocationswhere theymayoccur
•Eachcooler must have an independent isolatingtap.This is intendedsothatthecoolercanbe
replacedwithoutdraininglonglengths of piping
The followinggeneralguidelines applytothe pipework
•Pipework shouldavoid light fittings andelectricalandgas piping
•Pipework inpublic viewshould be securelyandneatlyfixed.
•Allpipework shouldbe accessible andclearlylabeled.
•Pipework shouldbe laggedwhen necessaryto avoid freezingor high temperatures.
The customer shouldbe informedinwritingof the locationof allisolationvalves
Sanitisation:
EPDWA guidelines state:
•Allcoolers must besanitized before commissioning
•Whena customer signs up tothe sanitisationprogram, the coolershouldbe sanitizedevery6
months
•Sanitisationshouldbecarried out inaccordance with the manufacturer’sinstructions –see
attacheddocuments.
Connecting Water Cooler toMains Supply:
AllOASIS POUwater coolers are suppliedwitha push-fitconnector that should beusedto connect the
coolertothe mains watersupply. OASIS recommends thatthese guidelines shouldbe followedwhen
installingthecooler:
Use ”diameter tubingto connect the mains supplyto the watercooler. Although 6mm tubingwill
appeartofit, itis actuallyapproximately5%smaller insize. The use of 6mm tubingwillresult ina leak.
In anymainswater system, itis possible for“spikes” orsuddenfluctuationsinpressure tooccur. These
canresultininstantaneous pressures inexcess of7bar (100psig) tooccur. OASISrecommendthatall
installationsinclude a pressure regulator, suchas a slowflowregulator, which shouldbe locatedinfront
of the cooler’s water inlet.
Installing thewater cooleratyour customer’s premises
1. Carrythe cooler inthe upright positiontothecustomer’s premises - use the handle atthe rear of
the unit

2. At the customer’s premises, ensure thatthere are nomarksor visibledamagetothecarton
3. Remove thecooler fromthe carton
4. Remove theshippingbagfrom the cooler
5. Carryout a general inspection ofthecooler,ensuringthat :
a) There are no marks orphysicaldamagetothecooler.
b) That allaccessories are present.
c) That allthe wires andelectricalconnections are inplace atthebackofthe cooler.
d) That the cooler is cleanand dustfree.
e) Site the machine asclose tothe electricalandmains drinkingwatersupplyaspossible witha
50mm airgap at both sides andbackof the machine. Mountthemachineon a firmflatsurface
so thatitcannot topple over.Please remember that the machine shouldnotbe exposedto direct
sunlightor heat sources above32degrees C.
f) It is advisable thatthe watersupplyandelectricalsupplybe within2meters of themachine for
ease of installation.
g) Level the machine usingthe adjustable feet.
6. Connect the water coolerto a potable mains water supply. OASIS recommendthe use ofanEPDA
recognisedinstallationkit thatincludes a pressure reducingvalve, shutoff valveanda nonreturn
valve. These shouldbe fittedbefore the water intake tothe machine. Minimum operatingpressure
for the machine towork suitablyis 1.5bar. The ideal operatingpressure is3 bar
7. Inspect the electricalsocket, the machineplugand thepower cable for anytransitdamage. Now
plugthe powerleadinto the backofthe machine. Assoonas you plugthe machine intoa suitable
power supply, thenyou canstart toflushwaterthroughthe machine.
8. Press thedispensingwater forambient temperature water andkeepthebutton depresseduntil the
water fromthe outletruns clear
9. Press thedispensingwater forcoldtemperature waterandkeepthebuttondepresseduntil the water
fromthe outletruns clear–note thatit will take some time tobleedall of theair fromthe cooling
tank
10. Carryout a visualinspection foranywaterleaks
11. The directchillsystemwillstart coolingimmediatelyandis now readyforuse bythe customer
