Introduction
Important Safety Notes
Please observe the following to ensure the telephone can be operated
reliably:
SRead this operating instruction manual thoroughly and observe the
information contained when using the equipment.
SPlace the base station on a non−slip base and lay the connection
cables so that they cannot be the source of an accident.
SDo not expose the equipment to extreme temperatures or humid
conditions and protect it from direct sunlight and dusty conditions.
SOnly clean the equipment with a soft, moist cloth. Never use any
solvents or aggressive cleaning agents.
SOnly connect approved accessories.
SOnly use the power adapter plug supplied.
SNever open the equipment. Opening the equipment exposes the
person to the risk of an electric shock. The terms of guarantee are
also annulled.
SRepairs to defect equipment may only be carried out by service
centres authorised by the sales outlet.
SIf the equipment will be out of operation for a longer period, we
recommend removing the batteries.
SOnly replace the batteries with ones of the type recommended by
us. Dispose of defect batteries according to the applicable laws and
regulations (not in domestic waste). We are not liable for damage to
the equipment caused by improper use.

Intended Use
The telephone is suitable for telephoning within a public telephone network
system. Any other use is considered unintended use. Unauthorised
modifications or reconstruction not described in this manual are not
permitted.
Information on Disposal
The implementation of European law in national laws and directives obliges
you to dispose of consumable goods appropriately. This serves to protect
both persons and the environment.
The adjacent symbol indicates that electrical and electronic
apparatus as well as batteries no longer required must be
disposed of separate from domestic waste.
Old or unwanted devices must be disposed of at collection
points provided by public waste authorities.
Batteries and power packs must be disposed of at shops
which sell batteries or collection points which provide the
corresponding containers.
Packaging materials must be disposed of according to local
regulations.

Please check the contents of the package carefully. If anything is missing
or shows signs of transport damage, do NOT put the telephone into
service! In such a case, contact your sales outlet, with the purchase receipt
to hand, or the OLYMPIA Service Center directly.
Note: Keep the equipment packaging so that it can be used to prevent
equipment damage in the event of future transport.
Positioning the Base and Charging Stations
Position the base and charging stations in locations which are easily
accessible. Ensure that they are set down on a stable, level, non−slip
surface. In addition, ensure that the equipment is positioned where all the
necessary cables can be laid in such a way that nobody can trip over them.
Do not place the base and charging stations in the direct vicinity of other
electrical apparatus, such as microwave ovens, PCs or hi−fi equipment, for
example.
Do not expose the base or charging stations to direct sunlight.
Protect the base and charging stations from dampness. The
equipment must not be set up in rooms in which condensation,
corrosive vapours or high concentrations of dust develop and
accumulate (e.g. cellar rooms, garages or winter gardens). The
ambient temperature must be between 0 _C and 40 _C.
Connecting the Base Station and Power Adapter
Plug
Connect the telephone line plug in the base station and in the
corresponding socket of the telephone connection socket. Connect the
power adapter plug to the base station and the power socket. The base
station is now ready to operate.

The base station and charging station have no power switch.
Pay attention that a power socket is close to the equipment and
that the power adapter plug can be accessed easily. Check that
the voltage specifications on the power adapter plug matches
that of the local power supply.
Connecting the Charging Station
Connect the power adapter plug to the charging station and the power
socket. The charging station is now ready to operate.
Inserting the Batteries
Open the battery compartment by
sliding the cover downwards.
Insert the batteries, type AAA, in
the battery compartment, paying
attention to correct polarity.
The handset does not work if the batteries are inserted
incorrectly. The handset could also be damaged as a result.
Replace the cover on the battery compartment and slide it upwards until the
locking button snaps into place. Place the handset in the base or charging
station. An acoustic signal and charging indicator lamp acknowledge the
charging process. When charging the batteries for the first time, let them
charge for at least 12 hours without interruption. If at all possible, only
remove the handset from the station when the charging process is finished.
This ensures optimum operation.

Telephoning
Internal Calls
If several handsets are registered on the base station, internal calls can be
made between them free of charge.
1. Press the Ibutton.
2. Enter the number of the handset to be contacted (1...5).
3. Complete the call.
4. Press the Cbutton to end the call.
External Calls
There are two methods by which to dial phone numbers, namely direct
dialling and indirect dialling.
Direct dialling
1. Press the Bbutton and wait for the dialling tone.
2. Dial the phone number.
3. Complete the call.
4. Press the Cbutton to end the call.
Indirect dialling
1. Dial the phone number.
2. Delete any incorrect digits using the Jbutton.
3. Press the Bbutton. The phone number is dialled and a connection
established.
4. Complete the call.
5. Press the Cbutton to end the call.
Taking Calls
In the event of an external call, all the handsets registered ring. It is
possible that the caller’s number will appear in the handset displays
(network−dependent).
If the caller is entered in your phone book, the name entered for the person
also appears. In the case of an internal call, “INT FROM 2” or “INT FROM 3”
etc. appears in the display.
1. Press the Bbutton.
2. Complete the call.
3. Press the Cbutton to end the call.

Muting the Microphone
Press the Jbutton to switch the microphone off and on during a call.
Redialling
The telephone stores the last 3 phone numbers dialled in a redialling list.
1. Press the Gbutton in order to open the list of last phone numbers
dialled.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
3. Press the Bbutton. The number is dialled.
4. Complete the call.
5. Press the Cbutton to end the call.
Selecting Numbers from the Phone Book
1. Press the Pbutton.
2. The first phone book entry appears in the display.
3. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
Alternatively, enter the first letter of the name being searched for.
4. Press the Bbutton. The subscriber’s number is dialled.
5. Complete the call.
Note: The procedure to store phone book entries is described in Section
Phone Book.
CLIP Operations
If calls have been received during your absence, they are stored in the CLIP
memory when the telephone network provider has enabled this function.
The Kicon appears in the display.

1. Press the Mbutton. The CLIP entries are displayed.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
3. Press the Bbutton. The number is dialled.

Deleting a CLIP entry
1. Press the Mbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the DELETE ENTRY menu
option.
Note: To delete all entries, select the DELETE ALL menu option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. If necessary, press the Fbutton to confirm the confirmation request.

Transferring entries from the CLIP memory to the phone
book
You can transfer phone numbers from the CLIP memory to your phone
book.
1. Press the Mbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the SAVE TO PB menu
option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Enter a name.
7. Press the Fbutton.
8. Edit the phone number, if necessary.
9. Press the Fbutton.
10.Select a melody.
11.Press the Fbutton.
The entry is saved.
Note: To delete characters or digits, press the Jbutton. To enter the
characters, press the relevant button the corresponding number of times,
1x, 2x, 3x or 4x, according to its position.
E.g.: press the 5button 3 times to produce an L.
Using Several Handsets
If several handsets are registered on the base station, you can put the call
on hold to consult with another handset user, forward the call in progress or
use the conference facility.
Putting a call on hold / Forwarding a call
While an external call is in progress, you can put the caller on hold and
forward the call.
1. Press the Ibutton.
2. Enter the number of the handset to be contacted (1...5).
3. Complete the call.
4. Press the Ibutton to end the internal call. The external call can be
resumed.
or
Press the Cbutton to forward the call.
Conference calls
1. Press the Call button Iduring an external call. The external caller is
put on hold.
2. Enter the number of the handset required. The handset is dialled.
3. As soon as the handset dialled answers, press and hold the Ibutton
for 2 seconds to activate the conference facility.
4. Press the Cbutton on any handset for it to end participation in the
conference call. The call is continued on the other handset.
Changing the Receiver Volume
The receiver volume as well as the loudspeaker volume for Handsfree mode
can be adjusted to one of 5 levels.
1. Press the Ebutton as often as necessary during a call to adjust the
receiver volume to the required setting.

Entering a Dialling Pause (P)
If the telephone is connected to a PABX, it may be necessary to enter a
dialling pause, e.g. to wait for an outside line. Press the ;button after
entering the digit following which a pause is required, e.g. 0 for an outside
line (0P....). A Pappears in the display to represent the pause. A pause can
also be programmed for entries in the phone book.
Handsfree Mode
Two methods are available to use the phone in Handsfree mode, namely
direct dialling and switching during a call.
Note: The current status, receiver operation yor Handsfree mode uy, is
indicated in the display.
Note: The device transmits signals/calls very loud in Handsfree mode. It is
essential to switch Handsfree mode off before holding the handset against
your ear. This will prevent hearing damage.
Direct dialling
Dial the number and press the Bbutton twice to initiate dialling.
Switching during a call
While a call is in progress, press the Bbutton to switch to Handsfree
mode.
Ending handsfree mode
If the handset is in Handsfree mode, press the Bbutton to end
Handsfree mode.
Key Lock On/Off
The phone keypad can be locked against use. The key lock function is
intended to prevent other functions being activated inadvertently. You can
still use the Bbutton to take calls.
Note: If you press a button when the key lock function is activated, an
acoustic signal is issued.
Press and hold the Nbutton for approx. 2 seconds to switch the key
lock function on or off.
The vicon appears in the display when the key lock is activated.
Putting a Call on Hold / Forwarding a Call
If your phone is connected within a PABX system, you can put calls on hold
to consult with people on other extensions or forward calls.
1. Press the Fbutton to put the call on hold. The line is put on hold.
2. Dial the number of the subscriber’s extension you require (e.g. 22).
3. Press the Fbutton again to take the call back
or
Press the Cbutton to forward the call to the extension dialled.
Note: The Rfunction of the Fbutton is only available for use when the
handset is in call mode.
Note: The above information could vary according to the PABX system
used. Please read the information provided in the manuals supplied with
your PABX system.

Phone Book
The telephone can store up to 20 entries in the phone book with phone
numbers and names. Store frequently used numbers in order to dial them
quickly and easily. If the phone number has been transmitted with the call, the
handset displays the name of the caller (if it is stored in the phone book).
1. Press the Pbutton.
2. Press the Fbutton.
3. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the NEW ENTRY menu
option.
4. Press the Fbutton.
5. Enter a name.
6. Press the Fbutton.
7. Enter the phone number.
8. Press the Fbutton.
9. Select a melody.
10.Press the Fbutton.
The entry is saved.
Note: To delete characters or digits, press the Jbutton. To enter the
characters, press the relevant button the corresponding number of times,
1x, 2x, 3x or 4x, according to its position.
E.g.: press the 5button 3 times to produce an L.
Editing Entries
1. Press the Pbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
Alternatively, enter the first letter of the name being searched for.

option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Edit the name, if necessary.
7. Press the Fbutton.
8. Edit the phone number, if necessary.

Note: To delete characters or digits, press the Jbutton. To enter the
characters, press the relevant button the corresponding number of times,
1x, 2x, 3x or 4x, according to its position.
E.g.: press the 5button 3 times to produce an L.
Deleting Entries
1. Press the Pbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the required entry.
Alternatively, enter the first letter of the name being searched for.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the DELETE ENTRY menu
option.
Note: To delete all entries, select the DELETE ALL menu option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Press the Fbutton to confirm the operation or the Cbutton to
cancel it.

Ringing Tone
It is possible to select different ringing tone melodies for internal and
external calls and to adjust the ringing tone volume.
Selecting a ringing tone melody
1. Press the Fbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the HANDSET menu
option.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the RING TONE menu
option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the EXTERNAL menu
option.
Note: In order to set the internal ringing tone, select the INTERNAL option
at this point.
7. Press the Fbutton.
8. Use the Gand Mbuttons to select a melody.
9. Press the Fbutton.
Setting the ringing tone volume
1. Press the Fbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the HANDSET menu
option.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the RING TONE menu
option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the VOLUME menu option.
7. Press the Fbutton.
8. Use the Gand Mbuttons to select the volume.

Automatic Answering (Auto Talk)
The automatic call answering feature (Auto Talk) ensures that incoming
calls are taken immediately the handset is removed from the base station.
This means that after removing the handset from the base station, there is
no need to press the call button.
1. Press the Fbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the HANDSET menu
option.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the AUTO TALK menu
option.
5. Press the Fbutton.

Entering/Editing Handset Names
It is possible to assign a name to the handset. This name then always
appears when the telephone is in Standby mode.
1. Press the Fbutton.
2. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the HANDSET menu
option.
3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the HANDSET NAME
menu option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Enter the required name for the handset.
7. Press the Fbutton.

Keypad Beep
The keypad beep can be switched on or off.

If your handset is registered on several base stations, you can define which
base station you want to use.
1. Press the Fbutton.

3. Press the Fbutton.
4. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the SELECT BASE menu
option.
5. Press the Fbutton.
6. Use the Gand Mbuttons to navigate to the AUTO or MANUAL
menu option.
7. Press the Fbutton.
If you have selected MANUAL:

9. Press the Fbutton.
