Omcan Manufacturing and Distributing Company Inc., Food Machinery of America, Inc. dba Omcan
and Omcan Inc. are not responsible for any harm or injury caused due to any person’s improper or
negligent use of this equipment. The product shall only be operated by someone over the age of 18, of
sound mind, and not under the inuence of any drugs or alcohol, who has been trained in the correct
operation of this machine, and is wearing authorized, proper safety clothing. Any modication to the
machine voids any warranty, and may cause harm to individuals using the machine or in the vicinity of
the machine while in operation.
CHECK PACKAGE UPON ARRIVAL
Upon receipt of an Omcan shipment please inspect for external damage. If no damage is evident on the
external packaging, open carton to ensure all ordered items are within the box, and there is no concealed
damage to the machine. If the package has su󰀨ered rough handling, bumps or damage (visible or concealed),
please note it on the bill of lading before accepting the delivery and contact Omcan within 24 hours, so we may
initiate a claim with the carrier. A detailed report on the extent of the damage caused to the machine must be
lled out within three days, from the delivery date shown in the shipping documents. Omcan has no recourse
for damaged products that were shipped collect or third party.
Before operating any equipment, always read and familiarize yourself with all operation and safety
instructions.

these instructions for future reference. Also save the original box and packaging for shipping the
equipment if servicing or returning of the machine is required.

• When carrying out cleaning or maintenance operations (and therefore the protections are removed),
carefully assess the residual risks.
• During cleaning or maintenance keep your mind focused on the ongoing operations.
• Regularly check the condition of the power cord; a frayed or damaged cord is a serious electrical hazard.
• If the appliance does not work correctly or a malfunction is suspected, it is recommended that you do not
use it and that you do not intervene directly to repair it, but contact the “service centre”.
• Use the appliance only to break ice.
• Do not try to put your hands or other objects in the openings of the machine while it is on.
• Do not move the machine unless the switch is in “0” (o󰀨) position and the plug is disconnected from the
power supply.
• The manufacturer is not liable in the following cases:
- The machine is tampered with by unauthorized personnel.
- Some components have been replaced with other non-original ones.
- The instructions in this manual are not followed carefully; the surfaces of the machine are treated with
unsuitable products.
SAFETY DEVICES INSTALLED ON THE MACHINE
ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL SAFETY DEVICES (SEE FIG. N°7)
As for the electrical and mechanical safety devices, the machine described in this manual complies with UL
763, CSA C22.2#195 and NSF 8.
The machine is equipped with the following safety devices:
• Magnetic micro-switch on the lid.
• Safety fuse in series with the power supply.
Although the unit is equipped with electrical and mechanical protective devices (both during operation and
during cleaning and maintenance), there are still RESIDUAL RISKS that cannot be completely eliminated,
mentioned in this manual as WARNINGS. They concern the danger of cuts resulting from contact with the
blade while cleaning.
RESIDENTIAL USERS: vendor assumes no liability for parts or labor coverage for component failure
or other damages resulting from installation in non-commercial or residential applications. The right
is reserved to deny shipment for residential usage; if this occurs, you will be notied as soon as
possible.
1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOUR BENCH WARRANTY
Within the warranty period, contact Omcan Inc. at 1-800-465-0234 to schedule a drop o󰀨 to either
an Omcan authorized service depot in the area, or to an Omcan Service warehouse to repair the
equipment.
Unauthorized maintenance will void the warranty. Warranty covers electrical and part failures, not
improper use.

Installation
POSITIONING THE MACHINE
The surface on which the machine is to be placed must take into account the support size indicated in Tab. 1,
and therefore be big enough; it must be perfectly level, dry, smooth, sturdy and stable. In addition, the machine
must be placed in a room with max. 75% humidity, non-saline and a temperature between +5°C and +35°C; in
any case, in environments that do not involve dysfunctions of the same.
SINGLE-PHASE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The machine is equipped with a power cord 3 x 18 AWG; length 1.6 m and a NEMA 5-15P plug. Connect
the machine 120 Volt 60 Hz, interposing a 10A, D I = 0.03A di󰀨erential—magnetothermic switch. Make sure

that the earthing system works correctly. Also check that the information on the technical plate (FIG.n°4)
corresponds to the information given on the delivery and guidance documents.
Operation
CHECKING THE CORRECT OPERATION
N.B. before testing, make sure that (see FIG. n°7):
- The lid is low enough to react with the magnetic micro-switch (ref. c); after which test the operation using the
following procedure:
1. Operate the switch by moving to the “I” position.
2. Check if the appliance stops working when lifted.
3. At the end, bring the switch to “0” o󰀨 position.
CONTROLS
The controls are placed on the body of the machine as shown below (FIG. n°6).
POSITION OF THE SAFETY MICRO ON THE ICE BREAKER
Magnetic micro-switch: blocks the operation of the ice breaker when the lid of the cup is lifted.
LOADING THE PRODUCT
The ice to be broken must be loaded into the feed chute only when the motor is o󰀨. Use ONLY hollow ice
cubes 25x30 mm at –3°C produced by the manufacturer NO FREEZER.
N.B.: the amount of ice to be inserted must not go beyond the edge of the cup, otherwise the machine will not
turn on.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Lift the lid of the cup.
2. Insert the ice, paying attention to the amount: you must be able to close the lid.
3. Turn the machine on by pressing the “I” button.
4. Assume a correct position in order to avoid accidents (see FIG. n°9): your body must be perpendicular to
the work surface. In any case, do not lean against the machine and avoid assuming positions that involve
direct contact with the machine, but use the lid.
5. At the end of the process stop the machine by pressing the “0” button.
6. Avoid operating the ice breaker when empty.
7. Make sure that when you have nished using the machine you immediately place a container under the
chute, as the ice remaining inside will melt and drip onto the surface, which may cause risks.
8. Do not move the machine if the switch is not on “0” (o󰀨) position and the plug is not disconnected from the
power supply.
9. If the broken ice is not of the desired consistency, you can use the guillotine to adjust the thickness of the

ice.
10. Do not leave ice inside the cup for a long time: it may homogenize and prevent the rotation of the blade,
causing serious damage to the machine.
ADJUSTING THE THICKNESS OF THE ICE
The procedure to adjust the thickness of the ice is the following:
1. Bring the switch to “0”.
2. Move the guillotine (FIG. n.1 - ref. 7) backward or forward to adjust the thickness.
3. Once you have set the desired thickness, you can start to use the ice breaker.
GENERAL INFORMATION
• The machine does not require special cleaning.
• The machine must be dried at the end of each working cycle.
• All parts of the machine must be cleaned using only a sponge or an absorbent cloth.
• The machine must not be cleaned using high-pressure cleaners or water jets. Do not use utensils, brushes
or other devices that may damage the surface of the machine.
WARNING!
Before performing any cleaning operations it is necessary to:
• Bring the switch to “0”.
• Disconnect the plug from the socket to isolate the machine completely from the rest of the system.
PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW TO CLEAN THE MACHINE
N.B. do not wash any part of the ice breaker in the dishwasher. Use the provided toothbrush to clean the
bottom of the blade (see FIG. n°9). Open the lid, insert the toothbrush in the cup and slide the bristles under
the blade. Once thoroughly cleaned, remove the toothbrush from the cup. The body of the machine and the
chute can be cleaned with mild detergent and a damp cloth rinsed frequently with warm water.
WARNING: once the ice breaker has been cleaned in all its parts, dry well and close the lid of the cup.
MAINTENANCE
GENERAL INFORMATION
Before performing any maintenance it is necessary to: disconnect the plug from the socket to isolate the
machine completely from the rest of the system.

POWER CORD
Periodically check the state of wear of the cord and if necessary call the “SERVICE CENTRE” for it to be
replaced.
BLADE
Periodically check the condition of the blade, if a replacement is needed contact the “SERVICE CENTRE”.
DISPOSAL
PUTTING THE MACHINE OUT OF SERVICE
If for some reason you decide to put the machine out of service, make sure that it cannot be used by anybody:
remove the blade, disconnect and cut the electrical connections.

• Si l’appareil faisait supposer ou démontrait un dysfonctionnement, il est recommandé de ne pas l’utiliser et
de ne pas intervenir directement pour les réparations, mais de contacter le “Centre d’Assistance”.
• Utiliser l’appareil uniquement pour piler la glace.
• Ne pas tenter d’enler les mains ou d’autres objets dans les bouches d’entrée et de sortie du produit avec
la machine en marche.
• Ne pas déplacer la machine si l’interrupteur n’est pas sur “0” (o󰀨) et si la che n’est pas débranchée de
l’alimentation.
• Le constructeur décline toute responsabilité dans les cas suivants:
- Manipulation de la machine par un personnel non autorisé.
- Remplacement des composants par d’autres pièces non-originales.
- Non-respect des instructions présentes dans le manuel; traitement des surfaces de la machine avec des
produits non adaptés.

SECURITES INSTALLEES SUR LA MACHINE
SÉCURITÉS ÉLECTRIQUES ET MÉCANIQUES (VOIR FIG. N°7)
En ce qui concerne les sécurités de nature électrique et mécanique, la machine décrite dans ce manuel est
conforme aux directives UL 763, CSA C22.2#195 et NSF 8.
La machine est équipée des sécurités suivantes:

INSTALLATION
DISPOSITION DE LA MACHINE
Le plan sur lequel doit être placée la machine doit tenir compte des dimensions d’appui indiquées dans le Tab.
1, et doit donc avoir une largeur su󰀩sante, être bien nivelé, sec, lisse, robuste et stable. De plus, la machine
doit être placée dans un lieu ayant une humidité max. de 75% non saline et une température comprise entre
+5°C et +35°C; dans tous les cas à des endroits n’entraînant pas de dysfonctionnements de celle-ci.
RACCORDEMENT ELECTRIQUE MONOPHASE
La machine est dotée d’un câble d’alimentation 3 x 18 AWG; longueur 1.6 m et d’une che NEMA 5-15P.
Brancher la machine 120 Volt 60 Hz, en interposant un interrupteur di󰀨érentiel - magnétothermique de 10A,
D I = 0.03A. Vérier alors que l’installation de terre est en parfait état de marche. Contrôler également que les
données indiquées sur la plaquette technique-n° de série (FIG.n°4) correspondent aux données reportées sur
les documents de livraison et qui accompagnent la machine.
OPÉRATION
CONTRÔLE DU FONCTIONNEMENT
N.B. avant de procéder au test, s’assurer que (voir FIG. n°7):
- Le couvercle soit su󰀩samment baissé pour réagir avec le microinterrupteur magnétique (réf. a); puis tester le
fonctionnement avec la procédure suivante:
1. Actionner l’interrupteur en le mettant sur “I”.
2. Contrôler qu’en soulevant le couvercle, l’appareil cesse de fonctionner.
3. À la n, mettre l’interrupteur sur la position d’arrêt “0”.

COMMANDES
Les commandes sont disposées sur le corps de la machine comme présenté ci-après (FIG. n°6).
POSITION DU MICORINTERRUPTEUR DE SECURITE SUR LE BROYEUR A GLACE
Microinterrupteur magnétique: bloque le fonctionnement du broyeur à glace quand le couvercle du verre est
levé.
CHARGEMENT DU PRODUIT
La glace à piler doit être chargée dans la bouche de chargement uniquement si le moteur est éteint. A utiliser
EXCLUSIVEMENT avec des glaçons creux 25x30 mm à –3°C produits par le fabricant NO FREEZER.
N.B.: la quantité de glace à introduire ne doit pas dépasser du bord du verre, sinon la machine ne s’allume
pas.
La procédure est la suivante:
1. Soulever le couvercle du verre.
2. Introduire la glace en prêtant attention à la quantité: le couvercle doit pouvoir se fermer.
3. Actionner la machine à l’aide de l’interrupteur en appuyant sur le bouton “I”.
4. Adopter une bonne position an d’éviter tout incident (voir FIG. n°8): le corps doit être perpendiculaire au
plan de travail. Dans tous les cas ne pas s’appuyer sur la machine et éviter d’avoir une position impliquant
le contact direct avec la machine: utiliser le couvercle.
5. Au terme de l’opération, arrêter la machine en appuyant sur le bouton d’arrêt “0”.
6. Éviter de faire fonctionner le broyeur à glace à vide.
7. Au terme de l’utilisation de la machine, placer immédiatement un récipient sous la bouche de
déchargement car la glace restante à l’intérieur de la bouche fond avec le temps et le fait qu’elle goutte sur
le plan d’appui pourrait présenter des risques.
8. Ne pas déplacer la machine si l’interrupteur n’est pas sur “0” (o󰀨) et si la che n’est pas débranchée de
l’alimentation.
9. Si la glace pilée n’a pas la consistance souhaitée, à l’aide du levier il est possible de régler l’épaisseur
souhaitée pour broyer la glace plus ou moins grosse.
10. Ne pas laisser de glace pendant longtemps à l’intérieur du verre, elle pourrait s’homogénéiser et empêcher
la rotation du couteau, provoquant de graves dommages à la machine.
REGLAGE DE L’EPAISSEUR DE LA GLACE
La procédure pour régler l’épaisseur de la glace est la suivante:
1. Mettre l’interrupteur sur “0”.
2. Déplacer le levier (FIG. n°1 - réf.7) en avant ou en arrière pour régler l’épaisseur.
3. Après avoir déni l’épaisseur souhaitée, il est possible de commencer à utiliser le broyeur à glace.

MAINTENANCE
GENERALITES
• La machine ne requiert pas de nettoyages particuliers.
• Le séchage de la machine est une opération à e󰀨ectuer à la n de chaque cycle de fonctionnement.
• Le nettoyage doit être soigné sur toutes les parties de la machine en utilisant exclusivement une éponge
ou un chi󰀨on absorbant.
• La machine ne doit pas être nettoyée au nettoyeur haute-pression ni au jet d’eau. Les outils, brosses et
tout autre instrument pouvant endommager la surface de la machine ne doivent pas être utilisés.
ATTENTION!
Avant de réaliser une quelconque opération de nettoyage, il faut:
• Mettre l’interrupteur sur “0”.
• Débrancher la che d’alimentation du secteur pour isoler complètement la machine du reste de
l’installation.
PROCEDURE A SUIVRE POUR LE NETTOYAGE DE LA MACHINE
N.B. ne laver aucun composant du broyeur à glace au lave-vaisselle. Utilisez la brosse à dents fournie pour
nettoyer le bas de la lame (voir FIG. n°9). Ouvrez le couvercle, insérez la brosse à dents dans le gobelet et
glissez les poils sous la lame. Une fois bien nettoyée, retirez la brosse à dents de la tasse. Le nettoyage du
corps de la machine et de la bouche de déchargement peut être e󰀨ectué à l’aide d’un nettoyant neutre et d’un
chi󰀨on humide rincé fréquemment à l’eau tiède.
ATTENTION: après avoir nettoyé toutes les parties du broyeur à glace, bien sécher et fermer le couvercle du
verre.
MAINTENANCE
GENERALITES
Avant de réaliser une quelconque opération de maintenance, il faut: débrancher la che d’alimentation du
