INTRODUCTION

Thank you for pur hasing the Omron HEM-629 Portable Wrist Blood
Pressure Monitor. This remarkable instrument is ideal for people
who frequently monitor their own blood pressure be ause it’s so
ompa t and easy to use. There is no tri ky arm uff, just a small,
pre-formed wrist uff that is easy to apply. With the push of a button
the Omron Wrist Monitor measures your blood pressure and pulse
rate and displays the reading on a lear digital panel. Perfe t for
qui k, easy readings at home, at work, and during travel.
The Omron Wrist Monitor uses the os illometri method of
blood pressure measurement. This means the monitor dete ts
your blood’s movement through the artery in your wrist and
onverts the movements into a digital reading. An os illometri
monitor does not need a stethos ope so the monitor is simple to
use and measurements are easy to obtain.
Clini al resear h has proven a dire t relationship between blood
pressure in the wrist and blood pressure in the arm. Changes in wrist
bloodpressure refle t hanges in arm blood pressure be ause the arteries
in the wrist and the arm are lose to ea h other. Frequently measuring the
blood pressure in your wrist will provide you and your do tor with an
a urate indi ation of hanges in your blood pressure.
Consult your physcician before measuring blood pressure
at the wrist if you have any of the following conditions:
severe hypertension, severe diabetes, severe arterialsclerosis,
severe kidney disease, or vasculor disease that may
compromise circulation.
Please read this instruction manual thoroughly before
using the Omron Portable Wrist Blood Pressure onitor.
For specific information on your own blood pressure,

SUGGESTIONS BEFORE
MEASURING BLOOD PRESSURE
1. Eating, smoking, and exer ising within 30 minutes
before taking a measurement may affe t your blood
pressure. To take baseline blood pressure, rest for
at least 5 minutes before taking a reading.
2. Mental stress raises blood pressure.
3. Throughout the measurement, the
unit should be held at your heart
level. The arring ase is large
enough to raise the arm to
heart level.
4. Remain still and do not talk
during the measurement.

1. How to store the measured blood pressure values...
The measured and displayed blood pressure and pulse rate readings
are automati ally stored in the memory.
The memory an store the readings of up to fourteen measurements.
The memory stores the most re ent 14 readings. When more than 14 readings
have been taken the earliest readings are erased and repla ed by the most
re ent readings. The memory is not erased when the batteries are repla ed.

from the memory starting with the previous measured readings.
When you push the MEMORY Button “M”, if there is any measured reading
stored in the memory, M1 indi ating the latest memory, the systoli and the
diastoli blood pressures, and the pulse rate are displayed alternatively.
In order to re all the readings measured previously, push the MEMORY
Button “M” again. The values will be displayed as M2, M3,... et .
If there is no measured reading in the memory, a blank s reen with dashed
lines will be displayed, when the MEMORY Button “M” is pushed.
