TheOneForAllAccess 4 Universal
RemoteControlis designed to operate
three(or four)homeentertainment
devices,depending on the model pur-
chased(seeKeyCharts,ModeKeys on
theright).
The remotecontrolrequirestwo fresh
AAAalkalinebatteriesand easyprogram-
mingtocontrolyourdevices.For best
results,pleasereadandperformall
instructionslisted here.Also,keepthese
instructionsforfuturereference.

Usethe transport keys

VOD. To record a
program,press the
record key (REC)
twice.
INSTALLING BATTERIES
1. Ontheremotecontrol’sback,pushthe
tab andlift off the battery cover.
2. Obtaintwo(2)newAAA alkaline
batteries.Matchthe+and– marks
onthebatteriesto the +and–
marksinthebattery case,then insert
thenewbatteries.
3. Pressthebattery coverback into
place.The tab shouldclick when the
coveris locked.
4. Testthe unit bypressingPOWER
andanymodekey(e.g.,TV).If the
batteriesareinsertedcorrectly,the
LEDwill blink once.
NOTE:Whenbatteriesneed replacement,
theremotecontrolwillstopoperating.
Removetheold batteriesandinsert new
oneswithin30minutesto ensureall of
yourprogramming information is restored.
PROGRAMMING
DEVICE CONTROL
TheOneForAllAccess 4 remotecontrol
ispreprogrammedatthe factoryto
operatean RCATV andVCR,aMotorola
(GI)cablebox,and aToshibaDVDplay-
er.To controldevices otherthan the
defaultbrands,performthefollowing
steps;otherwise skipthissection:
NOTE:ForTV/VCRCombocontrol,see the
nextsection.
1. Turnona device (e.g.,VCR)and,if
applicable, insertmedia, (e.g.,
cassetteor disc).
NOTE:Please readsteps2-4 completely
beforeproceeding.Highlightor writedown
thecodes and deviceyouwish to program
beforemoving ontostep 2.
2. Ontheremotecontrol,pressadevice
keyonce(i.e., VCR,DVD,TV,or
CBL/SAT ).Pressand holdSET until
theLED blinkstwice,then release
SETP.
3. UsetheManufacturer’sCodes to
locatethe type of device andbrand
nameandthen enterthefirstfour-
digitcodeforyourcomponent.If
performedcorrectly,theLED will
blinktwice.
NOTE:If the LED didnot blinktwice,then
repeatsteps 2through3 and tryentering
thesame codeagain.
4. Aimtheremotecontrolat the device
andpressPOWER once.The device
should turn off. If it does not respond,
repeatsteps2-3,tryingeach code for
yourbranduntilyoufind one that
works.If it still does notwork,try
SearchingForYourCode.
NOTE:If the device does not have a
POWER
key,pressthe(
Play
)key.
5. Repeatsteps1through4foreach
device youwantto control.
PROGRAMMING
TV/VCR COMBO CONTROL
Performthefollowinginstructionsto
control a TV/VCRCombo:
1. TurnontheTV/VCRCombo and
insertavideo cassette.
NOTE:Please readsteps2-4completely
beforeproceeding.Highlight or writedown
thecodes anddeviceyouwish toprogram
beforemoving on to step 2.
2. Ontheremotecontrol,pressVCR.
Press and hold SET untiltheLED
blinkstwice,thenreleaseSET.
3. UsetheSetupCodesForTV/VCR
Combos (on the back side)to locate
thebrandname and then enterthe
firstfour-digitcodeforyourdevice.
If performedcorrectly,the LED will
blinktwice.
NOTE:If the LED didnot blinktwice,then
repeatsteps 2through3 and tryentering
thesame codeagain.
4. Aimtheremotecontrolat the device
andpressPOWER once.Itshould turn
off.If the devicedoes not respond,
repeatsteps2-3,tryingeach code for
yourbranduntilyoufind one that
works.If it still does notwork,try
SearchingForYourCode.
NOTE:If the device does not have a
POWER
key,pressthe(
Play
)key.
SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your device does not respondto the
remotecontrolaftertrying all codes
listed for yourbrand,or if your brand is
notlisted atall,trysearchingforyour
code. Forexample,to searchfora code
foryourTV:
1. Ontheremotecontrol,pressTV once.
2. Pressand holdSET untilthe LED
blinkstwice,thenreleaseSET.
3. Enter 9- 9-1.The LED will
blinktwice.
4. Aimtheremotecontrolat the the
TVand slowlyalternatebetween
pressing POWER andTV.Stopwhen
theTVturns off.
NOTE:In thesearchmode,theremote
controlwillsendIR codesfromits library
tothe selecteddevice,startingwiththe
mostpopularcode first.
5. Tolockinthe code,pressandhold
SET untiltheLEDblinkstwice,then
releaseSET.
6. To search for thecodes of your other
devices,repeatsteps1through5,but
substitute theappropriate device key
forthe device youaresearchingfor.
CHECKING THE CODES
If you haveset up theremote control
usingthe SearchingForYourCode
procedure,youmayneed tofindout
whichfour-digitcodeis operatingyour
equipment:

1. Ontheremotecontrol,pressTV once.
2. Pressand holdSET untilthe LED
blinkstwice,thenreleaseSET.
3. Enter 9- 9-0.The LED will
blinktwice.
4. Toviewthecodeforthefirstdigit,
press1once.Wait 3 seconds,count
theLEDblinks(e.g.,3 blinks = 3)
andwritedownthenumber.
NOTE:If a code digit is“0”, the LED will
notblink.
5. Repeatstep4threemoretimesfor
remainingdigits.Use2for the
seconddigit,3forthe thirddigit,
and4forthe fourth digit.
6. To check for codes of other devices,
repeatsteps1through5,butsubsti-
tutethe appropriatedevicekeyfor
each deviceyouare checking.
Asbefore,writedowneachfour-
digitcode.
RE-ASSIGNING DEVICE KEYS
TheOneForAllAccess 4 canbeset to
control a secondTV,VCR,or DVDplayer.
Forexample,tocontrol two TVs,aVCR,
andacablebox,youwillneedtore-
assigntheunusedDVD key to operate
thesecondTVasfollows:
1. Ontheremotecontrol,pressand
holdSET until the LED blinks twice,
thenreleaseSET.
2. Enter9- 9- 2.The LED will
blinktwice.
3. PressTV once,then press DVD once.
4. TheDVDkeyisnowreadyto be
programmedforyoursecondTV.

CHANGING VOLUME LOCK
TheOneForAllAccess 4 issetto
control the volume of your TV inthe TV,
VCR, CBL/SAT,and DVD modes.If you
wantthevolumetobecontrolledbya
modeotherthanTV (e.g.,CBL/SAT),
changetheVolumeLock asfollows:

2. Enter9- 9- 3andthenpressany
modekeyonce(exceptTV).TheLED

controlled byyourmodechoice.
Unlocking Volume Control:
