LEVER Electric Electric Electric Electric
The electric handle can be fitted in combination with handle sets, push-bars, touch-
bars and panic bars with pre-drilled screw holes.
There are two types of electric handle: with the first type (fail secure), the handle is
free (in neutral) when there is no power and the door is therefore impossible to open
(art. 40800 - 40801), whereas with the second type (fail safe) the handle is enabled
when there is no power and it is therefore possible to open the door (art. 40600 -
40601).
The electric handle does not affect the door certification in any way because no
additional work on the fixture is required for its assembly.
The electric handle is not designed to be exposed to weather conditions.
INSTALLATION
•Check that the holes have been drilled in the door
for the handle frame, fixing screws and cylinder, if
necessary.
•Hold the handgrip in the direction opposite to the
opening direction and fix the handgrip to the electric
handle with the supplied screw and split washer,
(Grower), taking account of the door handedness.

•Select the cylinder plate that matches the lock
c/c distance (72 or 92) and insert it in its seat. If
half cylinders or no cylinder is used, insert the
blind plate.
•Fix the rear plate with the screws, being sure to
position the fitting bushes in positions
compatible with the lock.
•Install the cylinder on the lock, without tightening the cylinder screw.
•Shorten the handle spindle and fixing screws to match the
thickness of the door.
Note:
Fixing screws length must be = thickness of door - 10mm
Handle spindle length must be = door's edge + 5mm max.
•Fit the frame. If a double frame is not used, fit to the
electric handle using the correct grub screw.
•Complete the assembly by screwing in all the previously positioned screws. Make
sure that the cable is not accidentally pushed out of its channel or squashed as it is
passed through.
•Tighten the cylinder screw on to the lock.

OPERATION
With power switched on directly (without timer)
406 Series
The electric handle is disabled (in neutral) with the red LED lit. When the power is
switched off the LED goes out and the handle allows the door to be opened. This state
is limited to the time the power is off.
408 Series
The electric handle is disabled (in neutral) with the red LED unlit. When the power is
switched on the LED lights up green and the handle allows the door to be opened.
This state is limited to the duration of the electrical pulse.
Attention: the timer must be taken to 0 seconds for art. 40601 and 40801.
It is possible to use both a lead cover and pressure contacts.
With contact (with timer)
The electric handle is disabled (in neutral) with the red LED lit. Press and release the
opening button and the LED switches to green, the buzzer is enabled, it switches on
and the handle allows the door to be opened. This state lasts for the time set on the
timer (from 5 to 60 seconds), or until the first time the handle is used. To open again,
the opening button needs to be pressed again. The use of a lead cover is
recommended.
SETTING THE TIMER
The electric handle is equipped with an internal timing system that makes it possible
to keep the handle enabled for a time decided at the user's discretion.
Setting the timer to 0 seconds
1. Connect the programming button (not included) to the blue wire and the signals
ground (GND) to the green wire.
2. Connect the electric handle to the power supply (gray and white wires).
3. The green LED lights up on the panel. Keep pressing the programming button until
the LED changes to orange and a prolonged audible signal sounds. Release the
programming button immediately. The LED will switch on for about one second
and emit an audible signal to confirm the programming. In this mode, the electric
handle will remain enabled for the duration of the electrical pulse only.
Setting the timer to 5-60 seconds
Keep the
button pressed and the LED will flash in time with pairs of audible signals, each
lasting 5 seconds. Release the programming button when the timing gets to the
desired setting. The LED confirms the setting by flashing and emitting audible

signals according to the selected timing. In this mode, the electric handle will
remain enabled either for the set time or until it is operated.
OPEN RELEASE LEVER
If you want to keep the door enabled for a time decided at the user's discretion then it
is necessary to fit a switch in parallel to the opening button that will keep the door
enabled until it is switched off.
ENABLING AND DISABLING THE BUZZER
Enabling the buzzer
1. Connect the programming button (not included) to the blue wire and the signals
ground (GND) to the green wire.
2. With the electric handle power switched off, press the programming button.
3. Switch the electric handle power on, keeping the button pressed.
4. The LED will flash twice in orange, emitting 2 beeps, and then will turn red.
Release the programming button again and the LED will flash twice and emit 2
beeps, confirming that the buzzer is enabled.
Disabling the buzzer
1. Connect the programming button (not included) to the blue wire and the signals
ground (GND) to the green wire.
2. With the electric handle power switched off, press the programming button.
3. Switch the electric handle power on, keeping the button pressed.
4. The LED will flash twice in orange, and then will turn red. Release the
programming button again and the LED will flash 2 twice without emitting any
beeps, confirming that the buzzer is disabled.
