are many useful features built into your shampooer. We recommend that
you carefully read this instruction manual so you can make the most of
all the features this machine has to offer.

Before You Begin
Please read this manual before operating the cleaner
This will ensure you obtain full benefit from your new shampooer. Keep this
Instruction Manual in a handy place for future reference. This product must be
operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for domestic indoor
cleaning to remove dirt and dust from households.
Important
Always switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply
before cleaning your appliance, when not in use, or attempting any maintenance
task. The cleaner must only be connected to an AC supply at the voltage shown
on the rating plate. This cleaner should only be used for its intended purpose as
described in these instructions.
Precautionary measures:
1. Do not operate the shampooer too close to heaters, radiators or
other hot surfaces.
2. Before inserting the power plug into the power supply, make sure
your hands are dry.
3. When unplugging the power plug from the power supply, do not
use the power cable, gently pull the power plug from the power
supply.

instructions. Never operate the carpet
shampooer cleaner without filters.

for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their
safety.
2 Children should be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
3 Always check the power cord
before use. The power cord and
the power plug should be in a
good condition and must not be
damaged. If the power supply cord
is damaged or defective, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid
a hazard.
4 Carpets should be dry vacuumed
thoroughly before washing. Use
a vacuum cleaner with a power
brush for best results.
5 If using an extension cord please
make sure that it is of an approved
type and that it is fully extended.
Failure to do so could cause your
cleaner to overheat and damage it.
6 Do not run the appliance over the
power cable and power socket on
the floor.
7 Do not place cleaner on stairs or
furniture, as it may result in injury
or damage.
8 Do not handle the plug or carpet
shampooer with wet hands.
9 Do not put any objects into the
openings or operate with the
openings blocked. Keep them free
of anything that may reduce air
flow.
10 Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers
and all parts of the body away
from openings and moving parts.
11 Do not use this cleaner and
accessories on hard floors. Using
this machine on hard floors may
scratch or damage your floor.
12 Do not use the carpet shampooer
on any glowing, burning or
smoking particles.
13 Do not use without the solution
tank and dirty water tank in place.
14 Turn off all controls before
unplugging.
15 Do not store cleaner with solution
in tanks.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury when using
an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

16 Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquids such as petrol
or use in areas where they may be
present.
17 Indoor use only.
18 Do not operate the shampooer too
close to heaters, radiators or other hot
surfaces.
19 Do not pull or carry the appliance by
the power cable, use the power cable
as a handle or pull the power cable
around edges or corners.
20 Ensure the appliance is switched off
before unplugging.
21 To prevent electrical shock, do not
immerse the appliance, power cord
or power plug into water or any other
liquids.
22 Never clean any of the electrical parts,
especially the electrical connections
with water or liquid cleaners.
23 Before carrying out any maintenance
service or cleaning the filters, always
switch off the shampooer and
disconnect the power plug from power
supply.
24 Never attempt to make any
modifications to the shampooer.
25 Do not use the appliance if it is
damaged or breaks down. Check the
electrical components regularly for
defects.
26 Always store the appliance indoors, in
a cool, dry place.
27 Do not use any high-foaming
solutions as an excessive amount of
foam impairs the functioning of the
shampooer. If unsuitable cleaning
solutions are used, this will void
warranty.
FAULTS
Consult the trouble shooting guide in this manual if your carpet
shampooer fails to operate properly.
Do not continue to use this appliance if it appears to be faulty or the
supply cord is damaged. If a fault can’t be rectified, please return it to
the point of purchase.
Caution!
The cleaning head contains electrical connections. The cleaning head
is not a serviceable part. Please return the product to your nearest
Godfreys store if the cleaning head is faulty.

Preparing The Carpet
IMPORTANT! Do not use the
shampooer as a dry vacuum.
1 Vacuum carpeted surfaces
thoroughly. Use a vacuum cleaner
with a Powerhead for best results .
2 Remove as much furniture from
the room as possible. For furniture
that cannot be removed place
plastic or foil under and around
the legs of the furniture and only
remove when the carpet has dried
completely.
Helpful hints for cleaning carpet
1 Only use a low foam solution with
this shampooer.
2 Do not oversaturate the carpet
with cleaning solution while using
the shampooer.
3 For heavily soiled areas, additional
applications may be necessary.
4 Allow plenty of time to dry the
carpet thoroughly.
5 If cleaning solution comes into
contact with wood furniture or
wooden material, immediately
wipe away to avoid damage.
6 Once the carpet has been cleaned
with the shampooer avoid
walking on the carpet until it has
completely dried.
7 Before you start cleaning with the
shampooer, determine where to
start and end to avoid walking on
previously cleaned areas.
Check for colour fastness
1 Before you begin cleaning the
carpet, test for colour fastness.
Dampen a white cloth with
solution. Test a small carpeted
area in a closet. Gently rub the
cloth over the area.
2 Check for colour bleeding. If the
cloth remains clean, it should be
safe to clean the carpet.
After cleaning
1 Allow carpet to dry completely.
Try not to walk on the carpet until
it has thoroughly dried.
2 If you require to walk on the carpet
which has been recently cleaned
with the shampooer, place white
towels on the areas to be walked
on.
3 If the carpet has not dried and
the furniture must be placed back
into the room, place plastic or foil
under the furniture to prevent
staining the carpet.
4 Thoroughly clean the dirty water
tank with warm (max 40°C) tap
water.

Assembly
1. Insert the body of the shampooer into
the base and secure in place with the
screws provided.
2. Insert the handle into the body of the
shampooer ensuring that the handle
is pointing backwards. Secure in place
with the screw provided.
3. Insert the Clean Water Tank into the
body of the shampooer ensuring it
clicks into place. Your shampooer is
now fully assembled.
IMPORTANT! The appliance should be disconnected from the power
supply before you start to assemble.

Assembly & Instructions For Use
Instructions For Use
IMPORTANT! The appliance should be switched o and disconnected
from the power supply. Never operate without filters as this can cause
damage to the shampooer.
1. To remove the Clean Water Tank, hold
the handle and press the Clean Water
Tank Release Button.
2. Unscrew the measuring cap from the
reverse side of the Clean Water Tank.
Fill measuring cap with solution (one
full cap of solution per full tank of
water) and pour into the tank.
3. Fill the remainder of the Clean Water
Tank with warm (max 40ºC) tap water.
Screw back the measuring cap.
4. Insert the Clean Water Tank into the
body of the shampooer ensuring it
clicks into place.

IMPORTANT! Never leave the appliance unattended with the power
switched on. Turn o the appliance and disconnect the power cord
from the power supply before emptying and filling the tanks. Do not
oversaturate the carpet.
5. Insert the power plug into the power
supply. Turn on the appliance by using
the On/Of f Button located on the side
of the shampooer.
IMPORTANT! Ensure that the power cord is
secured into the Cable Hook, as shown.
6. Step on the Foot Release Pedal to put
the appliance into cleaning position.
While depressing the solution spray
trigger, pull shampooer in a backward
motion. Release the trigger and push
the appliance forward in the same path
to clean and remove dirty water and
solution from carpet.
7. When the dirty water tank is full press
the Dirty Water Tank Release Latch
and remove the tank from the base
using the handle.

8. Unscrew the dirty water tank cap to
empty the tank. Rinse the tank and
screw back the dirty water tank cap.
Insert the Dirty Water Tank into the
base of the shampooer ensuring it
clicks into place.
OPEN
IMPORTANT! For best cleaning results use a steady, moderate, forward
and backward motion. Always work from back to front across the room
to avoid stepping on wet carpet and lowering the carpet pile.

Maintenance
When you have finished cleaning, remove the Dirty Water Tank and rinse with
warm water, then allow it to dry before storage. Also remove the filter (as shown)
rinse with warm water and allow it to dry thoroughly before storing.
1. Remove the Dirty Water Tank from the
shampooer.
2. Remove the filter from the water tank and
rinse with warm water and allow it to dry
thoroughly before reinstalling.
IMPORTANT! Do not use any chemicals when cleaning the filter.
Note: Do not store the shampooer with solution in the Clean Water Tank or dirty
water in the Dirty Water Tank. Mineral deposits and mildew can form and will
aect the performance of the shampooer.

Your Optim Shampooer, in the case of domestic
use, has a one year parts and labour warranty
against product defects and failures when the
product is used in accordance with the terms and
conditions of this warranty statement.
This warranty commences from the original date of
purchase and is not transferable; please retain your
original proof of purchase for any warranty claims.
This warranty is valid only in the country where the
cleaner is purchased.
The cleaner must be operated in accordance with
these instructions and used only for domestic
household cleaning. This cleaner is not fit to be
used as an industrial cleaner, hence will void the
manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Accessories and consumables, unless defective
in manufacture, are not subject to this warranty.
In order to prolong the life of accessories and
consumables, regular care and maintenance is
recommended.
When properly used and cared for, your cleaner
will render excellent service; refer to the instruction
manual for further details, as misuse or failure to
follow the instructions makes this warranty void.
In the event of service or advice being needed,
please contact Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited,

on 1800 815 270 (AUS) or 0800 282 288 (NZ),
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST. The decision
to repair or replace the cleaner is at the sole
discretion of Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited. If
Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited decide to repair
or replace the cleaner, it will do so at its own cost.
Electrical Home-Aids Pty. Limited is unable to
accept responsibility under this warranty for any
repair work not carried out by an authorised
Service Agent or from the use of non-genuine
parts. If any part is no longer available or
manufactured, Electrical Home-Aids Pty.
Limited will replace it with a genuine functional
replacement part. This warranty does not apply
to the cost of replacing any parts of the product
due to normal wear and tear, alterations, improper
installation, physical abuse, misuse or accidental
damage. Any transportation costs involved in the
repair of defective parts shall be borne by the
claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the
time of a warranty claim or service, any work
carried out on the cleaner is chargeable.
The repair of the cleaner under this warranty does
not extend the original period of warranty.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in
addition to all other rights and remedies in respect
of the product as outlined under the Competition
and Consumer Act and other State and Territory
laws.
“Our goods come with guarantees that cannot
be excluded in the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for
a major failure and for compensation for any
other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired
or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable
quality and the failure does not amount to a major
failure.”
