home. t includes six different air purification technologies to provide unique
protection against airborne pollutants and allergens:
Stage 1. The pre-filter removes large particles, including dust, lint,
and hair.
Stages 2 and 3 are part of the Truman Cell™proprietary technology.
Stage 2. Positive charging wires electrostatically charge smaller particles
such as dust, smoke, pollen, bacteria, molds, viruses, and fungi.
Stage 3. The electronic Truman Cell™collects the electrostatically charged
particles and destroys the bacteria, molds, viruses and fungi.
Stage 4. The optional odor absorber removes common household odors
and chemical fumes.
Stage 5. The oxygenator changes atmospheric ozone to harmless oxygen.

General Warnings
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
READ ALL INS RUC IONS BEFORE USING HIS AIR PURIFIER
WARNING o reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
• Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Use only as described in this manual.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. f appliance is not working as it
should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return
it to a service center or call customer service at: 1-800-551-6299
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked;
keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce air flow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings
and moving parts.
• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Do not use appliance in an enclosed space where oxygen, flammable, explosive or
toxic vapors are given off or in an area where flammable dust is present.
• You should consult your oxygen and medical equipment providers before
using the air purifier around oxygen tanks, hoods, or other medical devices
using concentrated oxygen. Using electronic devices, including an air purifier,
in the presence of oxygen and other combustible gases could result in fires or
explosions, potentially causing serious injury or even death.


Installing a wet or even damp ruman Cell™into the air purifier may cause
melting of internal components during use.
• DO NOT place a wet or damp Truman Cell™in the air purifier.
• DO NOT wash the odor absorber. Replace, if necessary.
• Dry the Truman Cell™thoroughly outside of the air purifier before reinstalling
it into the air purifier. Ensure that all areas including corners and areas that
may trap water are dry before reinstalling into the air purifier.
FOR COMMERCIAL USE:
High voltage from Truman Cell™may cause ignition of flammable or explosive
gases/particles in the circulating air.
• DO NOT use in an area that contains flammable or explosive gases/particles in
the circulating air.
CAUTION!

• Do not place open flames, including candles, directly in front of the air purifier.
Doing so may result in minor or moderate injury.
• Keep objects away from the front grill.
t is important to consider the following when deciding on where to locate the air
purifier:
• Position the air purifier on a flat, solid, stable surface.
• Position the air purifier where the dirty air is not drawn across your head or body
while sitting or sleeping.
• Position the air purifier so the plug on the power cord easily reaches a standard
electrical outlet for a polarized plug.
• Do not use an extension cord.
• Do not place the air purifier near sources of heat, such as stove tops, ovens,
radiators or computers.
A polarized plug has one rounded prong
and one straight prong. The rounded end
goes into the longest socket slot.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment
has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only
one way. f the plug does not fit fully in the
outlet, reverse the plug. f it still does not fit, contact
qualified personnel to install the proper outlet. Do
not alter the plug in any way.

Top Cover - Easily removed by sliding forward
and lifting off.
Oxygenator - Permanent cartridge converts ozone into oxygen.
Odor Absorber - Optional feature that removes odors
and chemical fumes from glue, solvents and synthetic
materials. The purifier continues to clean the air with or
without the odor absorber.
Truman Cell™-Electrostatically charges and
collects small particles such as dust, smoke, pollen,
bacteria, molds, viruses, and fungi.
Pre-Filter - Removes large particles
such as dust, hair and lint.
Front Grill - Slides off for easy cleaning. Slide to
the left to remove. The grill must be closed securely
for the unit to operate.

Collector Cell Light
Turns red when the Truman Cell™needs cleaning.
Hold down the Air Revitalizer button until the light blinks
three times to reset the timer after cleaning.
Odor Absorber Light
Turns red when the optional odor absorber has been in
use 12 months. Hold down the Night Light button until
the light blinks three times to reset the timer after
replacing the odor absorber.

Operation
Simply follow the numbered steps to use your Air Purifier. Each call out describes the features
of the Air Purifier and how it functions.

Fragrance Tray - Holds the scent
cartridge to provide optional fragrances to
the air returned to the room.
Fragrance Tray Button - Push to open
the fragrance tray.
Air Direction Grill - Directs the flow of air.
Air Direction Control - Slide the button in the direction
that you would like the air to flow.
Night Light - Conveniently lights your room if desired.
Place.
Locate the air purifier on a hard surface such as a
table or desk. Be sure the grill is not blocked by
other objects, there are no candles or flames near
the unit.
Plug In.
Plug into nearest standard electrical outlet that
accepts a polarized plug.
Select the air cleaning speed.
Press the power button for the desired speed.
•High for maximum cleaning.
•Medium for normal use.
•Silence for Silence Technology®.
The quietest setting, cleaning the air as
effectively but more slowly than the higher settings.
Turn on the Air Revitalizer.
Provides additional air freshness and a pleasant, clean
scent through the release of negative ions. Negative
ions may cause dust to settle from the air onto the air
purifier and surrounding furnishings. Designed to
run continually, but may be turned off if desired.

Part Cleaning Time Method
Cabinet As needed Wipe with damp cloth first. f required,
follow with mild non-abrasive cleaner.
Truman Cell™2 to 4 weeks, Spray Oreck Assail-a-Cell® cleaner
or as needed or soak in warm water with mild
detergent.Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Truman Cell™f arcing occurs* Gently wipe cell wires with a dry
cotton swab, Spray Oreck Assail-a-Cell®
cleaner or soak in warm water with mild
liquid detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Pre-filter 2 to 4 weeks, Rinse thoroughly in warm water.

Odor 12 months, Replace (optional for odor removal).
Absorber or as needed Do not wash or get wet.
Vacuum to clean, if necessary.
Air Direction As needed Use the brush provided with the
Grill air purifier to brush away debris
in between the slots.
Oxygenator As needed Vacuum the front with a soft
brush attachment. Do not use any
liquids for cleaning.
*Arcing is a sharp snapping sound that can occur when dust particles build up in the Truman Cell™.
WARNING!
Cleaning the unit while it is plugged in may result in electric shock, electric spark
and serious injury. Unplug the unit before cleaning or maintenance. Remove the
unit from the wall if it is wall mounted.
Cleaning the Pre-Filter

Unplug the air purifier.
Remove the top cover by sliding forward and lifting off.
Pull the pre-filter straight up and out of the cabinet.
Thoroughly rinse the pre-filter and let it air dry before placing it back in the
cabinet. Do not use heated or compressed air as part of the drying process.
Place the pre-filter back into the unit by sliding it straight down into the slots.
Place the top cover back on the cabinet, sliding back to lock into place.

Cleaning Times
Proper care and cleaning of the air purifier is critical to performance. The following
chart shows the cleaning intervals and methods.

Unplug the air purifier.
Remove the top cover by sliding forward and lifting off.
Pull the Truman Cell™straight up and out of the cabinet by using the two small handles on each side
of the Truman Cell™.
Based on the frequency of arcing or how dirty the cell has become, perform one or both of the following steps:
f the cell is arcing frequently a “quick clean” can be performed by gently wiping a dry cotton swab
along the length of each of the four wires near the front of the cell to remove any built-up particles
from the wires. Go to Step 9.
For a more complete cleaning, place the Truman Cell™in a sink, bathtub or other location where
cleaner and contaminants will rinse away without damaging surfaces and proceed to Step 7.
Spray Oreck Assail-a-Cell®cleaner thoroughly between each cell plate and cover each
surface. Allow the cleaner to soak for a few minutes and rinse with clean water. Do not let the
cleaner dry on the Truman Cell™.
An alternative method to clean the Truman Cell™is to soak it in warm water for two to three hours.
Mild liquid dish detergent may be used to help break down dirt. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Note: Do not put in dishwasher or insert objects to clean the Truman Cell™.
Tough residue such as tar from tobacco smoke may need additional applications or longer soaking.
Allow to dry completely outside of the air purifier. Do not use heated or compressed air to dry.
IMPOR AN : Do not reinsert the Truman Cell™until it is completely dry. f the “Check Collector
Cell” light blinks red after replacing the Truman Cell™, then the Truman Cell™may still be wet.
Remove the Truman Cell™and allow it to finish drying.
Place the Truman Cell™back into the unit by sliding it straight down into the slots. The Truman Cell™
is specially designed so that it can be inserted only in one direction.
Replace the top cover, sliding back to lock into place. Be sure the top cover and front grill are
securely closed or the unit will not operate.
Reset the “Check Collector Cell” timer by holding down the Air Revitalizer button until the “Check
Collector Cell” light blinks three times.

Cleaning the Truman Cell™
Note: The Truman Cell™may require more frequent cleaning if “arcing” occurs. Arcing is a sharp
snapping sound that occurs when large particles of dust are collected in the Truman Cell™. f prolonged
or continuous arcing occurs the Truman Cell™should be cleaned.
IMPOR AN : Do not try to clean the Truman Cell™by inserting a cloth, brush, or other object between
the cell plates.

Cleaning the Air Direction Grill
Using the cleaning brush (located
on the bottom of the top cover), brush
away any debris that may have
collected between the grill slots.

Unplug the air purifier.
Remove the top cover by sliding forward and lifting off.
Pull the odor absorber straight up and out of the cabinet.
Replace with a new odor absorber. The handles on the odor absorber
should point up. Do not force the odor absorber into the slot.
Replace the top cover, sliding back to lock into place.
Reset the “Check Odor Absorber” timer by holding down the Night Light
button until the “Check Odor Absorber” light blinks three times.

Troubleshooting
Service problems that appear to be major can often be solved easily. You can be your own troubleshooter
by reviewing this guide. All other servicing should be done by an Oreck authorized service center.
Problem Check What to do
Unit does not turn on. • Power Cord • Plug in the power cord.
• Power Button • Set power button for desired blower speed.
• Front Grill • Reinsert front grill, sliding right until it locks
into place.
• Top Cover • Top cover should be replaced and slid back to lock.
“Check Collector Cell” • Truman Cell™• Wash Truman Cell™. Make sure it is
has turned red. thoroughly clean and dry before reinstalling.
• Hold down the Air Revitalizer button until the light
blinks three times to reset the timer after cleaning.

gives you the following limited warranty for this product only if it was originally
purchased for residential use, not resale, from Oreck or an Oreck Authorized
Retail Dealer.)
Oreck will repair or replace, free of charge, to the original purchaser, any part
that is found to be defective in material or workmanship within three (3) years of
the date of purchase and a lifetime warranty on the Truman Cell™for all residen-
tial models. NOTE: f the unit is used commercially, a one (1) year overall war-
ranty applies.
This limited warranty does not cover the replacement of expendable or consum-
able parts such as filters, cartridges, and other parts subject to normal wear unless
they are defective in material or workmanship.
This limited warranty does not apply to any part subjected to accident, abuse,
commercial use, alteration, misuse, damage caused by act of God, the use of volt-
ages other than on the data plate of this product or service of this product by
other than Oreck or a participating Factory Authorized Service Center.
Oreck does not authorize any person or representative to assume or grant any
other warranty obligation with the sale of this product.
Oreck’s limited warranty is valid only if you retain proof of purchase from Oreck
or an Oreck Authorized Retail Dealer for this product. f you purchase this prod-
uct from any other source, your purchase is “AS S,” which means Oreck grants
you no warranty, and that you, not Oreck, assume the entire risk of the quality
and performance of this product, including the entire cost of any necessary serv-
icing or repairs of any defects.
Oreck’s liability for damages to you for any costs whatsoever arising out of this
statement of limited warranty shall be limited to the amount paid for this product
at the time of original purchase, and Oreck shall not be liable for any direct, indi-
rect, consequential or incidental damages arising out of the use or inability to use
this product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to

AVER ISSEMEN Pour réduire le risque d'incendie, d'électrocution ou de

• Ne pas utiliser à l'extérieur ou sur des surfaces mouillées.
• Utilisez uniquement comme décrit dans ce manuel.
• Ne pas utiliser si le cordon ou la fiche est endommagé(e). Si l'appareil ne fonctionne pas
comme il le devrait, s’il a été abandonné, endommagé, laissé à l'extérieur ou plongé dans
l'eau, retournez-le à un point de service ou appelez le centre de service à la clientèle:

• Ne pas débrancher l'appareil en tirant sur le cordon. Pour le débrancher, tirer sur la
fiche et non sur le cordon.
• Ne pas manipuler la prise ou l'appareil avec les mains mouillées.
• Ne pas mettre d'objets dans les ouvertures. Ne pas utiliser avec une ouverture
bloquée; Garder propre, sans poussière, sans peluche, sans cheveux et sans tout
ce qui pourrait réduire le débit d'air.
• Garder les cheveux, les vêtements amples, les doigts et tout autre partie du corps
loin des ouvertures et des mécanismes.
• Désactiver toutes les commandes avant de débrancher.
• Ne pas utiliser l'appareil dans un espace clos où l'oxygène, les vapeurs toxiques,
inflammables ou explosives sont en contact avec des poussières inflammables.
• Vous devez consulter votre fournisseur d'équipement médical et d’oxygène avant
d'utiliser le Purificateur d’air à proximité d’un réservoir d'oxygène, d’un capot
d’appareil ou d'autres dispositifs médicaux utilisant un concentré d’Oxygène.
L’utilisation d’un dispositif électronique, comme un purificateur d'air, en présence
d'oxygène et d'autres gaz combustibles, pourrait entraîner des incendies ou des
explosions, causant potentiellement des blessures graves ou même la mort.

CONSERVERCESINSTRUCTIONS
L’Installation d’une unité ruman CellMD mouillée ou humide dans le purificateur
d'air peut provoquer la fonte des composantes internes lors de l'utilisation.
• NE PAS placer une unité Truman CellMD mouillée ou humide dans le purificateur d'air.
• NE PAS laver l'absorbeur d’odeur. Remplacer, si nécessaire.
• Sécher l’unité Truman CellMD parfaitement avant de la réinstaller dans le
purificateur d'air. Veiller à ce que tous les moindres recoins y compris les coins
et les endroits quipeuvent contenir de l'eau soient secs avant de réinstaller le
purificateur d'air.
POUR UNE U ILISA ION COMMERCIALE:
L’unité Truman CellMD mise sous haute tension peut provoquer l'inflammation des
matières inflammables ou explosives telles que les gaz / particules qui circulent dans l'air.

• NE PAS utiliser dans un endroit qui contient des gaz ou des particules inflammables
ou explosives qui circulent dans l’air.
• Ne pas placer des flammes nues et des bougies directement en face du purificateur
d'air. Cela risque d'entraîner des blessures graves ou mineures.
• Garder les objets hors de la calandre.
l est important de tenir compte des éléments suivants au moment de décider de
l’emplacement du Purificateur d'air:
• Placer le purificateur d'air sur une surface plate, solide et stable.
• Placer le purificateur d'air, là où l'air est sale de façon à ce qu’il ne souffle pas
dans votre direction, que ce soit sur votre tête ou sur votre corps lorsque vous êtes
assis ou en train de dormir.
• Placer le purificateur d'air de telle manière que la prise du cordon d'alimentation soit
facilement atteinte et qu’elle soit connectée dans une prise électrique polarisée standard.
• Ne pas utiliser de rallonge.
• Ne pas placer le purificateur d'air à proximité d’une source de chaleur, tels que
des cuisinières, des fours, des radiateurs ou des ordinateurs.
Une fiche polarisée a une connexion arrondie et une
connexion droite. L'extrémité arrondie va dans l’ouver-
ture la plus grande de la prise de courant.
Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, cet appareil a
une fiche polarisée (une connexion est plus large que
l’autre). Cette fiche d'alimentation à sens unique va dans
une prise polarisée. Si la fiche n'entre pas complètement
dans la prise, inverser les polarités de la fiche. Si cela ne
marche toujours pas, contacter une personne qualifiée
pour installer la prise adéquatement. Ne pas modifier la fiche, de quelque façon que
ce soit.

Couvercle Supérieur -Enlever, en le glissant vers
l'avant et en le soulevant vers le haut.
Oxygénateur -Cartouche qui opère d’une manière continue et qui
convertit l'ozone en oxygène.
L’absorbeur d’odeur -Fonction optionnelle qui élimine les
odeurs et les produits chimiques comme les vapeurs de colle,
les solvants et les matières synthétiques. Le purificateur
continue à nettoyer l'air avec ou sans L'absorbeur d'odeurs.
Truman Cell™-l contient des charges électrostatiques
qui recueillent et détruisent les petits polluants tels que
les particules de poussière, de fumée, de pollen, de
bactéries, de moisissures, de virus et de champignons.
Pré filtre -l enlève les grosses particules
tels que la poussière, les poils et les peluches.
Grille Avant -Se détache aisément pour un nettoyage
facile. Faire glisser la grille vers la gauche pour
l’enlever. La grille doit être bien fermée pour
que l'unité fonctionne.
Brosse de Nettoyage -(non illustrée)
Elle est incluse pour le nettoyage de la grille
directionnelle de l’air ainsi que les autres zones
autour du purificateur d'air.
Lumière de la Cellule Collectrice
Devient rouge lorsque le Truman Cell™a besoin de nettoyage.
Appuyer longuement sur le bouton du revitalisant d’air afin
que la lumière clignote trois fois. Une fois cela fait, l’unité
réinitialise la minuterie suite au nettoyage.
Lumière de l’absorbeur d’Odeur
Devient rouge lorsque l’absorbeur d’odeur optionnel est en
service depuis 12 mois. Appuyer longuement sur le bouton
de la lumière de nuit afin que la lumière clignote trois fois.
Une fois cela fait, l’unité réinitialise la minuterie suite
au remplacement de l’absorbeur d’odeur.

La grille directionnelle de l’air -dirige le débit d’air.
Le contrôle de la grille directionnelle -faire glisser le bouton dans
la direction que vous désirez afin de réguler la direction du débit d’air.
Lumière de nuit -Éclaire votre chambre convenablement si vous
le souhaitez.
L’emplacement.
Placer le purificateur d’air sur une surface solide comme
une table ou un bureau. Ne pas bloquer la grille avec des
objets. Ne pas mettre des bougies on des flammes porche
de l’unité.
Branchement.
Brancher dans la prise de courant électrique standard la
plus proche qui accepte les prises polarisées.
Selectionner la vitesse de nettoyage de l'air.
Appuyer sur le bouton d'alimentation pour la vitesse désirée.
•Haut pour le nettoyage maximal.
•Medium pour une utilisation normale.
•Silencieux pour la Technologie Silencieuse®.
Avec le réglage silencieux, le nettoyage de l'air est
aussi efficace mais fonctionne plus lentement que
les paramètres plus élevés.
Activer le revitalisant d’Air.
Pour fournir un mode de purification d’air supplémentaire,
une fraîcheur agréable et propre par l'émission d'ions négatifs.
Les ions négatifs peuvent faire en sorte que la poussière se
sépare de l'air pour s’installer sur le purificateur d’air et les
meubles avoisinants. Cet appareil est conçu pour fonctionner
continuellement. l peut être désactivé si vous le souhaitez.

Le nettoyage de l'unité lorsqu’elle est branchée peut entraîner un choc électrique, une
étincelle électrique et occasionner des blessures graves. Débrancher l'appareil avant de
le nettoyer ou d’en faire l’entretien. Enlever l’unité du mur si elle est placée sur un mur.

Débrancher le purificateur d'air.
Enlever le couvercle du haut en faisant glisser vers l’avant et en tirant vers le haut.
Enlever le pré filtre du cabinet en tirant vers le haut.
Rincer le pré-filtre puis laisser sécher complètement avant de le replacer dans le
cabinet. Ne pas utiliser de l'air comprimé chauffé dans le processus de séchage.
Replacer le pré filtre dans l’unité en le glissant dans sa position initiale.
Replacer le couvercle du haut en le faisant glisser dans sa position initiale.
