Step 1. Open the box, remove the Top Beam and Filament Holder, then connect the 2 pieces with
3 M4x6 screws. Combine them as seen below and set aside for later steps.
Step 2. Remove the Printer Chassis and lay it flat on a horizontal table.

Step 3. Take out the two Z-axis Linear Guide Rails and insert the rails into the square holes of the
Printer Chassis. Note that the side mounting holes should be facing outward. There are differences
between the two Z-axis Linear Guide Rails! Install the one with origin switch mounting holes on the
left side, as shown in the red circle below.

Step 4. Attach the Z-axis Linear Guide rails using 4 M4x6 screws (2 screws on each side). Do not
fully tighten at this time!
Step 5. Remove the X-axis Linear Guide Rail Components and X-axis Back Plate Components
from the box. Connect them as seen below using 4 M4x10 Screws and combine them into the
X-axis Assembly.

Step 6. Place the X-axis Assembly on the Z-axis Linear Guide Rails (that we previously connected
to the printer chassis).

Step 7. Use a M3x6 screw to attach the bottom of drag chain (the chain can be gently pried open
using a flat-head screwdriver), then open the socket protection cover, insert the wires to the
matching socket tightly, and close the cover. Then, insert the filament-run-out sensor wires to the
sensor and insert the E motor wires to the E motor.

Step 8. Remove the 2 Z-axis Lead Screws and gently guide them through the brass screw nuts
and install in the couplers attached to the motors. Tighten the grub screws on the coupler (each
coupler has 2 grub screws). Ensure that the lead screws are fully seated in the couplers!

Step 9. Prepare 2 M5x40 screws and install the beam assembly (assembled in Step 1) above the
Z-axis Linear Guide Rails (pay attention to the direction). Now tighten the 4 M4x6 screws from
step 4 (these were kept loose to ensure proper alignment and a square frame).
Step 10. Remove the Filament Tube (bowden tube) and connect to the print head and extruder
assembly.

Step 11. Turn both Z-axis Couplers, by hand, at the same time to move up the X-axis. Place the two
Wooden Horizontal Blocks under the X-axis and move down the X-axis until it rests on both
horizontal blocks (one on each side). This ensures that the X-axis gantry is squared with the frame.
Step 12. Power on the printer and use the control knob and LCD screen to “Move Z +10.0MM”. Now
remove the two wooden blocks. Using the control knob, select “Auto Home” to return the print head
to the home position (X:-11, Y:-9, Z:0).

10
Step 13. Press the Reset Button (below the control knob) to disable the X and Y motors. Move the
print head by hand to the four corners of the hotbed. Using the leveling knobs, ensure there is a
0.1MM gap between the nozzle and the hotbed. A standard sheet of A4 paper is 0.1MM and can be
used to confirm the distance. You should be able to slide the paper between the nozzle and hotbed
and feel slight resistance.
Step 14. Place a roll of filament on the spool holder, cut the filament at a 45° angle, pass it through
the filament sensor, extruder motor, into the filament tube until it reaches the print head. Insert the
supplied MicroSD Card into the slot, then on the LCD menu, navigate to “Print with SD”. Select the
testing Gcode file to ensure the printer is operating properly.

Important message from the manufacturer:
There is a MicroSD card, inside the box that contains manuals and test files. Please find it and
spend some time to read the included manuals. If you experience any issues while using the
printer, we are here to help!
Please take some photos or videos about your specific issue. Then, please send the photos and
videos to your vendor. This helps us to quickly and effectively troubleshoot. Our after-sales support
engineers will review and provide solutions to you within one business day.
Tips for Printing:
1. Get to know your slicer! Most printing issues can be resolved by modifying print settings within
your slicer!
2. Turning the control knob clockwise will increase the speed of the print.
3. Auto Bed Leveling (ABL) system takes some time to properly learn and adjust, but when set
correctly, it was save a lot of time on future prints! Please see the instructions on the MicroSD card
to learn how to configure the ABL system properly.
Maintenance Suggestions:
1. Use your ORTUR printer in a dust-free, windless room.
2. We recommend using ORTUR brand filaments or other high quality 1.75MM filaments. The print
head system can be damaged when using lower quality prints and your print quality will definitely
suffer.
3. After every 100 hours of printing, please check the nozzle for wear, the lock screws on the
heater cartridge, and the thermistor cable. Adjust the tightness of the belt and add a drop of
lubricating grease to the smooth rods lining the linear guide rails. White Lightning grease, or other
“dry lubricants” are a great option.
Enjoy your ORTUR and let us know if there is anything we can do to improve your
experience!
