This info screen is displayed when the printer is powered on. Press the control button to access the main
menu.
Useful Terms:
There are several terms referenced throughout this manual that are commonly interchanged.
Hotbed – this is the heated print surface where your filament is deposited during printing. This is also
referred to as a build plate, print bed, or heated bed.
Nozzle – this is the component that deposits the molten filament on the hotbed. Nozzles are commonly
made from brass or stainless steel and range in sizes from 0.1mm to 1.2mm. Your Ortur-4 is equipped with
a .4mm nozzle.

2.1 “Move axis” Menu:
In the “Motion” Menu, the First Option is the “Move axis” submenu. Press the control button to access.
2.1.1 “Soft Endstops” Option:
In the “Move axis” Menu, the First Option is “Soft Endstops” Option. Pressing the control button will turn the
“Soft Endstops” on or off. “Soft Endstops” prevent the axes from moving to negative coordinates. This helps
to protect the printer if the X, Y, or Z end stops fail (nozzle crashing into bed).
2.1.2 “Move X” Menu:
In the “Move axis” Menu, the Second option is “Move X”. From the “Move X” menu you can select the “Move
10mm”, “Move 1mm” and “Move 0.1mm” Commands. Based on your selection, the axis will move by either
10mm, 1mm, or 0.1mm as you turn the control knob.

2.1.3 “Move Y” Menu + 2.1.4 “Move Z” Menu+ 2.1.5 “Extruder” Menu:
The “Move X”, “Move Y”, and “Move Z” menus all operate the same way. The “Extruder” menu allows you to
extrude filament by the selected distance. Note that you MUST preheat the nozzle prior to attempting to
extrude filament.
2.2 “Auto home” Command:
In the “Motion” Menu, the second option is the “Auto home” command. Pressing the control button will
move all 3 axes back to their home position (X:0, Y:0, Z:0) automatically.
2.3 “Home X” Command:
In the “Motion” Menu, the Third Option is the “Home X” Command. Pressing the control button will return
the X axis to the home position [X:0].
2.4 “Home Y” Command:

2.6.3 “Edit Mesh” Menu:
In the “Bed Leveling” Menu, the Third Option is “Edit Mesh” Menu. This submenu allows you to adjust the
detected Z values manually. Most users will not need to use this function and should utilize the automatic
option.
2.6.4 “Bed Leveling” Option:
The “Bed Leveling” option will turn automatic bed leveling on or off.
2.6.5 “Fade Height” Menu:
In the “Bed Leveling” Menu, the Fifth Option is “Fade Height”. The Fade Height setting tells the printer to
slowly taper off the automatic leveling correction until it reaches a flat plane (typically after the first few
layers). This helps reduce unnecessary Z-axis movements. A value of 0 will enable bed leveling for the
entire print and is recommended for most users.

2.6.6 “Probe Z Offset” Menu:
In the “Bed Leveling” Menu, the Sixth Option is “Probe Z Offset”. The Probe Z Offset is the distance between
nozzle and the hotbed when the auto leveling sensor triggers. For example, if your automatic bed leveling
sensor triggers when the nozzle is .4mm from the bed, your Z offset would be around .4mm. This tells the Z
axis how much lower to move after the auto leveling sensor is triggered. Rotate the knob clockwise or
counterclockwise to adjust the Z Offset Value.
You MUST set your Z Offset value correctly to avoid damaging your printer. Please see the section titled
“How to set up the Auto-Leveling & Probe Z Offset Function” for additional details!
2.6.7 “Load settings” Command:
In the “Bed Leveling” Menu, the Seventh Option is “Load settings”. “Load settings” will load the previously
saved settings and erase any unsaved changes.
