2.2 ZONEHEATINGANDHOWTOMAKEITWORKFORYOU

YournewOsburn2000‐Iwoodinsertisaspaceheater,whichmeansitisintendedtoheatthearea

itisinstalledin,aswellasspacesthatconnecttothatarea,althoughtoalowertemperature.This

iscalledzoneheatinganditisanincreasinglypopularwaytoheathomesorspaceswithinhomes.

Zoneheatingcanbeusedtosupplementanotherheatingsystembyheatingaparticularspace

withinahome,suchasabasementfamilyroomoranadditionthatlacksanotherheatsource.

Housesofmoderatesizeandrelativelynewconstructioncanbeheatedwithaproperlysizedand

locatedwoodinsert.Wholehousezoneheatingworksbestwhentheinsertislocatedinthepart

ofthehousewherethefamilyspendsmostofitstime.Thisisnormallythemainlivingareawhere

thekitchen,diningandlivingroomsarelocated.Bylocatingtheinsertinthisarea,youwillgetthe

maximumbenefitoftheheatitproducesandwillachievethehighestpossibleheatingefficiency
