IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

• DO NOT use the appliance for other than it’s intended use.
• Whenusingthisappliance,provideadequateairspaceaboveandonallsidesfor

• DO NOT leave unit unattended during use.

use mitts when handling hot materials and allow metal parts to cool before cleaning.
Allowtheunittocoolthoroughlybeforeputtinginortakingoffparts.Alwaysuse
the handles when moving the unit.

Special Cord Instructions
(For 120 & 127V with two flat pins only)Thisappliancehasapolarizedplug(oneblade
iswiderthantheother).Toreducetheriskofelectricshock,thisplugwillfitinapolarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
doesnotfit,contactaqualifiedelectrician.DONOTMODIFYTHEPLUGINANYWAY.
Thelengthofthecordusedonthisappliancewasselectedtoreducethehazardsofbecoming
tangled in, or tripping over a long cord. If a longer cord is necessary an approved extension cord
maybeused.Theelectricalratingoftheextensioncordmustbeequaltoorgreaterthanthe
electrical rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped
over.

BEFORE USING YOUR OSTER® LATIN PRESS
BeforeusingyourOster®LatinPressforthefirsttime,cleanandseasonthecooking
surfaces:
• Withtheapplianceunplugged,cleanthecookingsurfaceswithaclothorsponge
dampenedwithwarm,soapywater.DONOTIMMERSEUNITINWATER.Rinsewitha
dampened cloth or sponge and wipe dry.
• Toseasonthecookingsurfacesplugtheapplianceintoanelectricaloutlet.Thered
PowerOn“”IndicatorLightwillilluminate.Allowtheunittopre-heatuntiltheorange
ReadyIndicator“”Lightturnson.Wipeasmallamountofbutterormargarineontothe
cooking surfaces, rub lightly and wipe away any excess.
Note:WhenusingyourLatinPressforthefirsttimeyoumaynoticeafinesmokehaze
beingemittedfromtheunit.Thisisnormal.Itisduetotheinitialheatingofinternal
components.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Plugunitintotheappropriateelectricaloutlet.Thepowerlightwillilluminateindicatingtheunit
is on.
2.Placefoodtobepreparedintothebottomcookingplate.
3. Select the desired cooking temperature according to your recipe or preference by turning the
temperature control knob clockwise.
HOW TO USE THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL KNOBB
MIN:Thislevelisrecommendedtokeepfoodwarmonceithasalready been cooked.
Level1:( )Thislevelisrecommendedtomeltcheeseandmelt
toppings ofapizza.
Level2:( )Thislevelisrecommendedtopreparerecipeswith
fillings such as; tortillas, quesadillas, sandwiches, pita bread
sandwiches, omelets filled with potatoes and cheese, fried
eggs, omelets and pancakes.
MAX:( )Idealtocookmeats,hamburgers,chickenfillets,fish
fillets and chicken fajitas.
4.Theunitwillstartheatingthecookingplatesandthereadylight
“ ” will illuminate indicating the selected cooking temperature has
been reached.
Note:TheIndicatorLightwillcycleonandoffduringcooking.
Thisindicates the unit is maintaining the selected temperature.
Caution:Touchtheunitonlybythehandlesandknobduringuse.
Do not touch heated surfaces.
5. When cooking is complete, use a wood or non-stick coated utensil to
remove the food. Besure to unplug unit when not in use.
Suggested temperature levels.
You can adjust the setting according to your preferences.

CARE AND CLEANING
1. Before cleaning, unplug the unit and allow it to cool.
2. CleanthecookingplatesoftheOster®LatinPresswithaclothdampenedinhot
andsoapywater.DONOTIMMERSETHEAPPLIANCEINWATER.Rinsewitha
dampened cloth and then dry.
3. Toremovefoodresiduesfromthecookingplatesorthehousing,useanylonpad
and a non-abrasive cleaner. If you use a steel wool pad or abrasive cleaners, you
can damage the non-stick coating.
4. Closetheunitandstore.Foryourconvenience,wrapthecordaroundthecord
space located under the unit.
5. Iftheunitneedsfurthermaintenance,takeittoanAuthorizedServiceCenter.
