Instrucons for Sonoma 12, 16, and 1216 Privacy Walls

Required Tools:
 Electric drill with T-20 bit for 1-1/4” and 1-1/2” screws, and T-25 bit for 2-1/2” screws
 1/8” drill bit for pre-drilling holes in step 8
 Step ladder
 At least two people are needed to assemble this product
 Measuring tape for verifying inside-to-inside post dimension of pergola
 Pencil
 Leveling device for checking for square

1. set an END BLOCK into place at the base of
each column and secure with two 2.5” SCREWS.

IMPORTANT:
Before beginning installaon verify that pergola columns are square with the ground and that
the inside-to-inside distance between them is 108-1/8” for the Sonoma 12, and 145-5/8” for the
Sonoma 16 and Sonoma 1216. Also verify the height from the boom of the column to the
underside of the corbels is 67” and adjust corbel height if needed.
This installaon is to be performed on the side walls of the pergola only. Installing a wall under
the arched side of the pergola will require modicaons to be made to the pergola or privacy
wall.
3. Set BOTTOM RAIL secons into place
as shown and align pre-drilled holes with
the holes in the OUTER “I” SUPPORTS
and CENTER “I” SUPPORT. See below for
proper Orientaon. Insert a 1.5” and 2.5”
SCREW into each end to fasten.

4.Align as shown and insert 1.5” SCREWS into the pre-
drilled holes at locaons shown by arrows below. Holes
are located on both sides of the blocks.
5. Place the WALL PANELS into the boom channel facing the direcon of your choosing,
starng from the outside working inward. Be careful not to let the wall panels p while un-
supported as this may cause damage to the panels. Small gaps will be present between the
wall panels. Adjust the panels so the spaces are even and outer two panels are ght to the
pergola columns.
If panels t into boom channel ghtly (this may depend on temperature and humidity) a rubber
mallet can be used to carefully tap them down into a seated posion.

6. Set TOP RAILS into place so that the
ends bu together at the center . Set the
MENDING PLATE into place and fasten
with 6 1.25” SCREWS
7. Fasten the TOP RAILS with 1.5” SCREWS as shown.

8.From the outside of each
corbel, measure 1.5” up
and 2” from the edge
touching the column and
pre-drill a hole with a 1/8”
drill bit. Insert a 2.5” Screw
to fasten the wall to the
corbel. (Only one screw per
end is required)
9. Install BATTEN STRIPS as shown
using 6 1.25” SCREWS per strip in
the pre-drilled holes . Baen
Strips can be placed on both or
either side of the wall to suit your
preference.

Maintenance: All finished pieces have been stained with an oil-based stain (It is
recommended that the pergola receive a clear, oil-based stain yearly to maintain
the color, minimize warping and prevent rotting.)
Every few years a colored oil based stain should be used to keep the original color.

Outdoor Products Limited Warranty
The Outdoor GreatRoom Company extends the following warranty for Outdoor GreatRoom outdoor prod-
ucts used in the United States of America or Canada. Dealers and employees of The Outdoor GreatRoom Com-
pany have no authority to make any warranty or authorize any remedies in addition to or inconsistent with the
terms of this warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary
from state to state.
The Outdoor GreatRoom Company warrants that this Outdoor GreatRoom Outdoor Product (the
“Product”) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from its date of pur-
chase. Stainless steel parts and assemblies carry a limited lifetime warranty. This war-ranty is subject to the
conditions, exclusions and limitations described below.
This warranty applies only to the original owner of the Product and is non-transferable. The Outdoor GreatRoom
Company obligation under this warranty does not extend to damages resulting from (1) assembly, operation or
maintenance of the Product not in accordance with the Installation/Assembly Instructions, Operating Instruc-
tions and the Listing Agency Identification Label furnished with the Product; (2) installation or use which does
not comply with local building codes and ordinances; (3) shipping, improper handling, improper operation,
abuse, misuse, accident or unworkmanlike repairs; (4) use of fuels other than those specified in the Operating In-
structions; (5) Installation or use of components not supplied with the Product or any other components not ex-
pressly authorized and approved in writing by The Outdoor GreatRoom Company; and/or (6) modification of
the Product not expressly authorized and approved in writing by The Outdoor GreatRoom Company. Any of the cir-
cumstances described in the previous sentence voids this warranty. This warranty is void if the Product or any
component has been removed, repaired, or replaced before The Outdoor GreatRoom Company has been afford-
ed a reasonable opportunity to inspect the Product.
This warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of defective components or workmanship and The Outdoor
GreatRoom Company may fully discharge its obligations under this warranty by repairing or replacing, at its
discretion, the defective components. The Outdoor GreatRoom Company will provide replacement parts at no
charge and will pay reasonable and necessary labor and freight costs related to replacing or repairing defective com-
ponents under this warranty. The maximum amount recoverable under this warranty is limited to the pur-chase
price of the Product and, if The Outdoor GreatRoom Company is unable to provide replacement or repair in an
expedient and cost-effective manner, The Outdoor GreatRoom Company may discharge all obligations under
this warranty by refunding the purchase price of the Product.
EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, THE OUTDOOR GREATROOM COMPANY MAKES NO
EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER THAN THE WARRANTY EXPRESSED HEREIN. THE DURATION OF ANY IM-
PLIED WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY SPECIFIED ABOVE. IN NO
EVENT SHALL THE OUTDOOR GREATROOM COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSE-
QUENTIAL DAMAGES CAUSED BY DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT. Some states do not allow limitations on
how long an implied warranty lasts, or do not allow exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential dam-
ages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

Affirm that you are the original owner of the Product.
Provide The Outdoor GreatRoom Company reasonable opportunity to investigate the claim, including rea-
sonable opportunity to inspect the Product prior to any repair or replacement work and before the Product
or any component of the Product has been removed.
