REBOARDING LADDER
1 - The maximum number of people allowed on the ladder is only 1 person at a time,
with a maximum weight of 200 kg.
2 - The ladder is provided exclusively for the recovery of a person over board. It
should under no circumstances be used for other applications (mooring line, tow line
for outboard dinghy etc.)
3 - The cord should be cut ush with the waterline to avoid the risk that it will get
caught in the propeller. It must remain in position, accessible from the water when
the boat is sailing.
4 - In accordance with EN ISO 15085 July 2003 and its amendment in August 2009,
the bottom step should be at least 600 mm below the waterline. The higher the lad-
der is installed onboard and the wider the boat, the greater the inuence the heel of
the boat will have on the ladder. As such, it may be advisable to increase the height
below the waterline of the last step.
5 - Before installing the ladder check that the stern guardrails are properly in place
and comply with the standard (minimum tensile strength of 560N).
6 - The ladder should be checked at least once a week and/or before every sail. It
should be checked in particular for the presence of chang on the stern rail where it
is attached and possible wear due to UV on the structural parts of the ladder.
7 - This manual must be integrated into the owner’s manual in the event this ladder
is provided by a shipyard.
