TheExoceatfeaturesaspecialairinletwhichisresultoftwoimportantrequirements:rst,itmustbesmoothandlowdrag,andsecond,
itmustprovidemaximumpressuretothefaringregardlessofitspositionintheairduringharnessmovement(yaw,pitch,orthermalling
positions).
Aswithparagliderdesign,wefocusedonthereductionofwrinkles,creases,anddeformationthroughouttheharness.TheExoceat’s
inatablenosecone,rearfaring,andmainsurfacesareallverysmooth.Closedcellfoamprovidesalightbutrigidshellencompassing
thepilotandencasingthedoublereservecontainer.Fromleadingedgetotrailingedge,theExoceatisremarkablysmoothandlow-drag,
makingitthemostefcientharnesswehaveeverbuilt.
Inadditiontodragefciency,thedesignoftheExoceatfocusesonpilotcomfortandstability.Thebucketseatdesigncreatesahighly
consistentloadingoftheframe,withnopressurepointsorcompressionzonesonthepilot,eveninhighly-loadedsituationssuchasspiral
dives.Theseatdesignisfullysupportedfromyourupperupperbacktothebottomofyourfeet,withaspeciallydesignedstirrupsystem
thatcreatesthesensationofrestingyourlegs“on”something,insteadof“pushing”againstabar.This“footrest”sensation,coupledwith
therigidityandsupportofthebucketseat,meansthatthereisnocompressionagainstyourshoulderstrapsandyoucaneasilyrelax

reservedeploymentsituationswasintegraltotheExoceat’sdevelopmentanddesign.Thelow-dragambidextrousdouble-bombbay
reservedesignwascreatedtoprovideeasyandfastopeninginloworhigh-Gsituations.Withtwoparachutesinstalleddeploymentcan
bewitheitherhand,thisisusefulinhighGsituationswhereaccesstoonesidecanbeimpossible,oriftherstparachutefailstodeploy
cleanly.
TheMoussebagisgenerouslypaddedundertheseatoftheharnessandalongtheentirelengthoftheback.ItisENandLTFcertied
withamaximumloadof125kgsandmeetsorexceedsCIVLSection7competitionharnessrequirements.
Theightdeckhasbeenpositionedsothatitisoriented90degreestothepilot’slineofsight.Thisisimportantforreadingmoderninstru-
mentseasilyinbrightsunlight,asitensurestheminimumamountofglareandreection.Thecockpitoatsinfrontofthepilot,evenwhen

SPEED SYSTEM
Routethespeedsystemlinethroughbothpulleysoneachside.Therst
pulleyislocatedinsidethepodattherearoftheseatplate.Thesecond
isclosetothelumbersupportattachment.Ensurethelinesruncleanly
betweenthepulleysandpassontheoutsideofallstructuralwebbing
straps.Double-checkthelineshavenotinadvertentlywrappedaroundthe
structuralwebbing.Feedthelinethroughtheholeonthesideofthepod.(3)
IMPORTANT: The speed bar lines must be of equal length, ensure they are not too short as this will inadvertently
activate the speed system when under tension in the air. Always double-check lengths and symmetry whilst
on the ground before ying.
Onceintheair,andwhenitissafetodoso,checkthatyoucanplaceyourfootonthebareasilyandthatthesystemoperatessmoothlyall
thewaytofullspeedwithoutexcessivefriction.The3stepsystemisfullyadjustable,eachstagecanbesettopreference.
TheExoceatfeaturesintegralreservecontainersfortwoparachutes.Theinnovativesystemusesbombdoorsthatfullyopenoncethepin
isremoved,soeveninhighGsituationstheparachutescanbedeployedfreelywitheitherhand.Thebombdoorcontainershavelarge
volumes,enoughtotalltypesofmodernparachutes.
Theparachute(s)needtobeinstalledpreciselyusinganewandinnovativemethod,sopleaserefercarefullytotheinstructionalvideofor
clearvisualinstructions.Whendeliveredbothparachutecontainersareclosedcorrectly.Takenoteoftheoveralllookandpayattention
tothetrellisthreadpatternandwherethereservehandlebridleemergesfromthebombdoor.
Attachthebridlestotheappropriateattachmentpointswithasuitableconnector(notsup-
plied).TheattachmentpointsarelocatedontheshoulderstrapsundertheVelcroaps.The
bridlesshouldthenberoutedalongtheprotectiveVelcrochannel.
Makesuretheharnessbridlesareattachedtotheparachute’s
bridleusingasuitableconnector(notsupplied).
Attachthedeploymenthandletothedeployment
bagofyourreserveparachuteusingaLark’sfoot
orsmallconnecter.
Placethedeploymentbagintothebombdoor
container,thereservehandleshouldbefacing
towardsthefrontofthebombdoor.

TheparachutecontainerisclosedbythreadingtheblueDyneemaloopsinatrellislikepattern.It is strongly recommended to watch
the Video and follow the instructions carefully at this point.
Startatthefrontendofthecontainerdoorsandidentifytherstloops
(1andA)byfollowingthecentralseam.
Theprocesscanbestartedbyhandbutitisbesttousethesmall
lengthsofplastictohelpwiththethreading.

Thiswillkeeptheloopssecuresoyoucanmoveontothenextstage.
IMPORTANT: Do not snag the blue Dyneema line with the end of the plastic and do not twist the loops as you
thread them.
Nowyouarereadytosecuretherearoftheparachutecontainer.Again,usethestitchinginthecentreofthebottompaneltoidentifythe
startingpoint.Loopthethreadsusingthesametechniqueasbefore.
Becarefulwhenyoureachthecorner.Thereservebridlesfromtheshoulderstraps
shouldberoutedthroughthispointandthethreadpatternmustbefollowedaccurately.
Beforearrivingattheyellowlineonthetoprow,makesurethereservehandlebridleexits
thebombdoorsinthepositionshown.Completethetoprowthreading,leavingthepieceof
plasticintheyellowlooptostopthethreadsundoingthemselves.
Installthehandlebyfeedingthereservepinrstthroughtheupperchannelsewninto
theharnessandthenthroughthetopyellowloop.Oncetheendofthepinisthroughthe
upperyellowlooptheplasticcanberemoved.

Toputtheharnessonrstplacetheshoulderstrapsoveryourshouldersandbringtheleg/cheststrapthroughyourlegs.
Fastentheleg/cheststrapbuckles.Ensurethatthebuckles
areclosedproperly,thereisanaudibleclickwhentheyare
lockedinplace.
Attachthecockpitusingthelargebluezipsonbothsides
The automatic pod closing system can now be connected. First put
themalebuckleofthelefthandpodthoughtheloopfoundonthefront
righthandsideofthecockpitandfastenittothefemalebuckle.
Nowsecuretherighthandpodwiththeeyeletattachedtobluelineonthelefthandpodthroughthe
bluelooponthelefthandpod.
Theshoulderstrapretainerclipshouldnowbefastened.
Repeatthesameprocessfortheloweryellowloopandreservepinchannel.Thistimethe
loweryellowloopisthreadedrst,beforeslidingthepinthroughthelowerchannel.
Pushthehandleintoitssecuringslotbysqueezingthemetalloopstotand
attachtheVelcro.Thecompletedsystemshouldlookexactlyasshown.
Doublecheckeverythinglooksvisuallycorrectandthenmakeatestdeployment.Makesureyouperformapracticethrowfromastatic
hangpoint.Notonlydoesthisensurethecorrectfunctioningofyourdeploymentsystemitalsoallowsyoutobecomemorefamiliarwith
theinstallationprocess.Doublecheckthatthehandleandpinreleaseeasilyandthethreadedloopsunfoldthemselveswithoutrestriction.
Ifonlyonereserveistted,thereservedummyreserveshouldbeinstalledintheunusedside,thiswillhelptokeeptheshapeandformof
theharness.Securethedummywiththesuppliedsparereservepintoreducethechancesofaccidentallydeploying(andthuslosing)the
sparereservehandle.
Beforeyourrstight,werecommendtosuspendtheharnessfromasuitablystrongpointtocheckthatittsyoucorrectlyandto
becomefamiliarwiththefeaturesandadjustments.Youcansettheshoulderadjustment-strapstondthebestt,andadjustthelumber
supportsothattheyleaveyouinacomfortablyreclinedposition.

HANG POINT HEIGHT
Theheightofthehangpointscanbesetonthegroundwiththeadjustmentsmadeonthesideof
thestructuredirectlyunderneaththehangpoints.Changesmadeherehaveadirectaffectonthe
feel,rollstabilityandfeedbackoftheharnesssopayattentionandonlymakeincrementalchanges
between ights. We recommend starting in the position shown and adjusting to your taste from
there.Loweringthehangpointwillmaketheharnessmorerollunstablewhilstraisingwillincrease
stability.
LEG SUPPORT ANGLE
Theangleoftheseatplatecanbeadjustedforcomfortandhandling.Tighteningthestrapswillraisethe
knees,whilstreleasingthestrapswilllowerthem.
FINE TUNING OF THE POD
Minorchangestotheoveralllengthofthepodcanbemadewiththeadjustmentstraps.
IMPORTANT: Any adjustments should be symmetrical, make sure both sides are equal. When ne tuning the
harness, take your time to nd the position that suites you best, only make small, incremental adjustments.
Beforeyourrstight,werecommendtosuspendtheharnessfromasuitablystrongpointtocheckthatittsyoucorrectlyandtobecome
familiarwiththefeaturesandadjustments.Youcansettheshoulderadjustment-strapstondthebestt,andadjustthelumbersupport
sothattheyleaveyouinacomfortablyreclinedposition.
SHOULDER STRAPS
The length of the Shoulder straps can be modied using the adjustment straps. Adjust the
shoulderlengthssothattheharnessfeelscomfortablysnugwhenstandingup.Theedgeofthe
seatplateshouldbenearthebackofyourkneesbutnotbelowthem.Whilstsuspendedinthe
seatedpositionensurethestrapsarecomfortableandsupportive,theyshouldnotbetootight
nortooloose.
LUMBER SUPPORT
TheLumbersupportshouldbeadjustedforacomfortableyingposition.Preciseadjustmentscan
bemadeintheairsothatyourlowerbackiscompletelysupportedandthereisnotensioninyour
stomachmuscles.Besuretoadjustthelumbersupportscarefully,settingthemtooloosewillresult
inaveryreclinedpositionintheair.
LEG STRAPS/CHEST STRAP
The length of the leg straps and chest strap affects the overall stability of the harness. For
maximumweightshiftthecheststrapandlegstrapsshouldbeleftintheirlongestposition.For
greaterrollstabilitythestrapscanbetightened.Itisimportanttotestyandadjusttondthe
positionthatisbestforyourstyleofyingandoverallcomfort.

COCKPIT
Theightdeckhasbeenpositionedinthepilot’slineofsight.Thisisimportantforreadingmoderninstrumentseasilyinbrightsunlight,
asitensurestheminimumamountofglareandreection.Thecockpitoatsinfrontofthepilot,evenwhenloadedwithballastitdoesnot
restonthepilot’slegsallowingfreedomofmovementandcomfortduringlongights.ItfeaturesaremovableVelcroinstrumentboard
andinternalpocketsforstoringsparebatteriesetc.Itcomeswithremovableexternalstrapsthatcantoattachedtotheshoulderstraps,
theseareespeciallyusefulforsmallerpilotswhoneedtocarrypotentiallyheavyballasttohelpsupportthecockpitandkeepitawayfrom
thekneesandinterferingwiththetakeoffrun.
AIRTUBE
Inorderfortherearsectiontoremainwellinated,itisimportanttokeepthetubefreeofobstructionsand
tosurethatitisnotheavilykinkedwhenpackingtherearpocketwithyourbagetc.Positiontheendofthe
tubeasshown.Itcanbe‘locked’inplacewiththeVelcro.
HYDRATION ACCESS SYSTEM
TheExoceatincludesahydrationaccesssystemconsistingofaninnerpocketlocatedin
therearstoragepocket.Positionthezipsoftherearcompartmentsothedrinkingtube
canexitonthesideofyourchoice.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to route the drinking tube BELOW the reserve
bridles
UNDERSEAT BALLAST BAG (OPTIONAL)
Anoptional 8lt ballast bag can bettedunder the seat. Secure theballastbag using a triangular
maillon attached to the loops in each corner. If tted, double check that the ballast bag will not
interferewiththeoperationofthespeedsystem.Adjustmentmaybenecessary.
TheExoceatwilllastmanyightsandmanyyearsiflookedaftercorrectly.Tokeepyourharnesscleanandairworthy,pleasenotethe
following:
•AvoidexcessiveexposuretoUV,heatandhumidity.
•Packtheharnessdryandstoreinacooldryplace.
•Neverdragorlandonyourharness.
•Keepyouharnesscleanofdirt,oilsandanycorrosivesubstance.
•Usewaterandaclothtocleanifnecessary.
•Alwayscheckthereservedeploymentsystembeforeeachight
INSPECTION
Forsafety,routineinspectionofallofyourequipmentisvitallyimportant.Ozonerecommendsaserviceintervalof12monthsinaddition
totheusualpreightchecks.Beforeeachightvisuallyinspectthereservedeploymentsystem,theDyneemalinesshouldbevisuallyOK
withoutexcessivefrayingandthereshouldbenoobstructionswithinthetrellisthreads(twigsetc).
Foraperiodicthoroughinspection,visuallycheckthestitchingandgeneralconditionofthestructuralwebbing.Lookinthehardtoreach
andstructurallyimportantareas.Payparticularattentiontothewebbingaroundthehangpointareasunderthecarabiners,thisiswhere
abrasionismostlikely.
Thoroughlycheckthereservedeploymentsystem.Removetheparachute(s)toinspecttheDyneemaloops,theyshouldbevisuallyOK
withoutexcessivefrayingorobvioussignsofdamage.
Afewsparereplacementloopsaredeliveredwitheachharness:TypeAarethemostcommon,TypeBarelonger,theseareusedinthe
cornersandTypeCaretheyellowloopstoretainthereservehandlepin.Ifyouneedtochangealoop,makesuretousethecorrecttype.
FullreplacementsetsareavailablefromyourOzonedealer.
