Here’s what you’ll do:
•Charge and set up your Tungsten™ W
wireless integrated handheld and
phone.
•Connect to the SingTel Mobile
network.
•Install SingTel Mobile applications
and Palm™Desktop software.

a. Plug the adapter into an outlet and the cradle.
Note!
Your adapter must connect to the cradle cable, not to the cradle itself.
b. Place your Tungsten™ W handheld into the cradle.
c. Check that the charging indicator light is solid green. This means your
handheld is properly seated in the cradle and is being charged.*
d. Charge for a full two hours.

a. Remove the handheld from the cradle.
e. Tap firmly the centre of at least
3 targets.
Note!
Your handheld turns off automatically
after one minute of inactivity. Press the
power button to turn it on again.
b. Press the power button.*
c. Remove the stylus.
d. Follow Setup instructions on
the screen.

CONNECT TO THE SINGTEL MOBILE NETWORK
a. Turn off your handheld.
b. Open the access door and remove
the sample SIM card.
Your subscriber identity module (SIM) card contains your basic subscriber
information. SingTel Mobile also uses the SIM card to register and connect your
handheld to the SingTel Mobile GSM/GPRS network. The wireless applications
of your handheld cannot operate on the network without the SIM card.

c. Detach the SIM card from its plastic
holder (see Contents).
d. Slide the SIM card onto the access
door. Close the door.

c. To confirm the connection:*
(1) Check that the indicator light is
blinking green.
(2) Press Home . Tap the Mobile
icon . If your service is activated,
SingTel appears in the Mobile
application onscreen keypad.

a. Press and hold the Wireless button
until the Mobile dialog box appears.
b. Tap On in the Mobile dialog box.*
d. If you have a new service
subscription, a Welcome Activation
message appears on your handheld
screen within 24 hours.

5Make a phone call

a. With the handheld on, insert the headset into the voice jack. This opens the
onscreen keypad used for dialling.
b. Place the earpiece in your ear.
c. Tap the number you want to dial.

6Install wireless applications from the
SingTel IDEAS Configuration Card
c. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the software.
d. When the Date & Time screen appears, tap the city displayed in Location.
Select Singapore from the list. Set the time and date.
e. Tap Date & Time in the upper-right corner of the screen. Select Network from
the list.
f. Tap Service. Select IDEAS WAP (GPRS) from the list. Enter your mobile
number as username and IDEAS password.
g. Tap Service again. Select IDEAS Internet (GPRS). Once again, enter your
mobile number as username and IDEAS password.
h. Remove the Configuration Card and replace the placeholder card. Go on to
step 7.

a. Remove the placeholder card: Push lightly against the card to release it.
b. Insert the SingTel IDEAS Configuration Card as shown by the icon: Push the
card in. You feel the card lock and hear the system sound.

Serial, SKU 10828U, sold separately.
†Problems? If installation or the HotSync®process
did not work, see Troubleshooting on the other

Use Palm™ Desktop software to enter appointments, addresses, and other
information. Then transfer the information to your handheld using the HotSync®
process. It’s the fastest way to enter lots of information.

You must install the version of
Palm™ Desktop software included
in this package.
