EMC NOTICE FOR THE PURCHASER/USER OF THE APPARATUS
1. Applicable standards and operating environment
The apparatus is compliant with:
• standardsEN55103-1andEN55103-22009,and
• electromagneticenvironmentsE1,E2,E3andE4.
2. Pre-requisite conditions to achieving compliance with the above standards
<1> Peripheral equipment to be connected to the apparatus and special connecting
cables
• Thepurchaser/userisurgedtouseonlyequipmentwhichhasbeenrecommendedbyusas
peripheralequipmenttobeconnectedtotheapparatus.
• Thepurchaser/userisurgedtouseonlytheconnectingcablesdescribedbelow.
<2> For the connecting cables, use shielded cables which suit the intended purpose of the
apparatus.
• Videosignalconnectingcables
Usedoubleshieldedcoaxialcables,whicharedesignedfor75-ohmtypehigh-frequency
applications,forSDI(SerialDigitalInterface).
Coaxialcables,whicharedesignedfor75-ohmtypehigh-frequencyapplications,are
recommendedforanalogvideosignals.
• Audiosignalconnectingcables
IfyourapparatussupportsAES/EBUserialdigitalaudiosignals,usecablesdesignedforAES/
EBU.
Useshieldedcables,whichprovidequalityperformanceforhigh-frequencytransmission
applications,foranalogaudiosignals.
• Otherconnectingcables
Usedoubleshieldedcables,whichprovidequalityperformanceforhigh-frequency
applications,asconnectingcablesforIEEE1394orUSB.
• WhenconnectingtotheHDMIsignalterminal,usemultilayershieldedcables,whichprovide
qualityperformanceforhigh-frequencyapplications.
• WhenconnectingtotheDVIsignalterminal,useacablewithaferritecore.
• Ifyourapparatusissuppliedwithferritecore(s),theymustbeattachedoncable(s)following
instructionsinthismanual.
3. Performance level
Theperformanceleveloftheapparatusisequivalenttoorbetterthantheperformancelevelrequired
bythesestandards.
However,theapparatusmaybeadverselyaffectedbyinterferenceifitisbeingusedinanEMC
environment,suchasanareawherestrongelectromagneticeldsaregenerated(bythepresence
ofsignaltransmissiontowers,cellularphones,etc.).Inordertominimizetheadverseeffectsofthe
interferenceontheapparatusincaseslikethis,itisrecommendedthatthefollowingstepsbetaken
withtheapparatusbeingaffectedandwithitsoperatingenvironment:
1.Placetheapparatusatadistancefromthesourceoftheinterference.
2.Changethedirectionoftheapparatus.
3.Changetheconnectionmethodusedfortheapparatus.
4.Connecttheapparatustoanotherpoweroutletwherethepowerisnotsharedbyanyother
appliances.
