Paradox Marine GOST Immobilizer User manual

Installation Guide:
GOST Immobilizer
The GOST Immobilizer is an
electronic, Anti-Theft Device
that will disconnect the battery
power, prevent the engine from
starting while armed, and sound
a siren when engine startup is
attempted. The device will not
interrupt the normal working of
the stereo memory clock and
similar low current draw devices
while armed. The GOST
Immobilizer offers boat owners
a low cost, secure, easily
installed and yet extremely
powerful Anti-Theft Device.
Figure 1- Installation Overview
Figure 2 -Package components
1.) Ensure the ignition is turned off, and
all other equipment, such as chart plotters
and radars on the vessel and are also
turned off. Open the battery compartment
and choose the respective battery that the
outboard engine will be using during normal
operation.
2.) Remove the negative cable of the
battery. (Black or marked - )
This is for your safety, to prevent any
sparking during the installation.
3.) Remove the positive cable (red or
marked with +) from the battery post.
4.) Reconnect that positive cable to the
GOST Immobilizer’s terminal connector (end
with black heat shrink) using the supplied
3/8”or 5/16”screw. Note that you will use
either the 3/8”or 5/16”Screw/ Brass Post
combination as it is dependant on the style
on your particular battery. Screw the existing
nut removed from the battery positive post,
tighten firmly and secure. Use the two piece
velcro insulator RED sleeve to cover the
connection for proper insulation
5.) Secure the 3/8”or 5/16”screw down
brass post to the threaded positive post of
the battery. Then connect the secure red
cable from the GOST Immobilizer on to the
positive post of the battery, which now has
the screw down brass post. Firmly attach it
with the screw, using the included security
key. Please be sure to tighten securely and
ensure that the plastic insulator cap
(included) is installed over the connector.
6.) Now return the negative cable to battery,
which had been removed in Step 2, back to
the negative post on the battery. Install the
black negative wire of the GOST
Immobilizer in the bolt assembly and tighten
securely.
7.) Clean and prepare the surface on the
side of the battery or in the general vicinity
of the battery box area to mount and secure
the GOST Immobilizer. Attach the included
double sided tape to the rear of the GOST
Immobilizer. When ready to mount, simply
peel off the top layer of tape to expose
adhesive surface and attach to the surface
of the battery.
8.) Wrap the plastic tie around battery and
GOST Immobilizer pull tight. The GOST
Immobilizer is vibration resistant, but it is still
important to secure it tightly to the battery.
9.) Use the attached screws to install the
security siren in a suitable place according
to these location considerations
Not directly next to battery and
GOST Immobilizer
Not in direct spray during normal
user of the vessel
Discreet location not near moving
parts
10.) Connect the negative wire of the siren
to the negative post of the battery or
negative bus bar.
11.) Connect the red wire of the siren to
GOST Immobilizer and ensure the included
transparent plastic insulating sleeve covers
the bare metal connectors.
12.) The installation of the GOST
Immobilizer is now complete. Please close
the battery compartment back up and start
the anti-theft function by using the remote
control. The GOST Immobilizer is now ready
to secure your vessel.

establish sustained memory current draw in device, an
Engine startup is attempted. The Bell Siren will sound
for 30 seconds (fixed) and the engine will not be
allowed to start.
PLEASE NOTE:
When the anti-theft function is in operation, the
GOST Immobilizer will ensure that the engine cannot
be started. However, if the thief physically damages
the electronics and cause the memory loss, this will
interfere with the GOST Immobilizer operation.
