Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your
new device. With it, you have chosen a
high quality product.
During production, this equipment has
been checked for quality and subjected to
a  nal inspection. The functionality of your
equipment is therefore guaranteed.
In some cases, residual amounts of water
may therefore be present on or in the de-
vice or in hose lines. This is not a  aw or a
defect and is no cause for concern.
The operating instructions constitute
part of this product. They contain im-
portant information on safety, use and dis-
posal. Before using the product, familiarise
yourself with all of the operating and safe-
ty instructions. Use the product only as de-
scribed and for the applications speci ed.
Keep this manual safely and in the event
that the product is passed on, hand over
all documents to the third party.
Areas of Application
The rain barrel pump is designed for
pumping water from a rain barrel or rain
collection tank. It is particularly suitable for
garden irrigation. The device is designed
exclusively for the supply of clari ed water
and rain water up to a temperature of
max. 35°C.
Any other use that is not expressly permit-
ted in this instruction manual (e.g.supply
of food, salt water, motor fuels, chemical
products or water with abrasive substanc-
es) may result in damage to the device and
pose a serious hazard to the user.
The device is not suitable for continuous
operation. Continuous operation will short-
en its service life and void the warranty.

Description of functions
The pump is equipped with a timer that
automatically switches off the pump after
expiry.
A plastic hook with connection hose can
be hooked into the rain barrel and enables
convenient water extraction via a water
hose.

user maintenance must not be
carried out by children if they

• Wear sturdy footwear to protect
against electric shock.
• Should there be people in the
water, do not operate the equip-
ment. Risk of electric shock!
• Take appropriate measures to
keep children away from the
equipment whilst it is running.
There is a risk of injury!
• Do not use the equipment in the
vicinity of  ammable liquids or
gases. Non-observance will re-
sult in a risk of  re or explosion.
• The transfer of aggressive, abra-
sive (grinding effect), corrosive,
combustible (e.g. motor fuels)
or explosive liquids, salt water,
cleaning agents and foodstuffs
is not permitted. The tempera-
ture of the liquid being trans-
ported must not exceed 35°C.
• Store the equipment in a dry
place and out of reach of chil-
dren.
Caution! To avoid damage to
the equipment and any pos-
sible person injury resulting
from this:
• Always disconnect the device
from the power supply before
assembling, disassembling or
cleaning it.
• The machine must not be used
at altitudes over 2000 m.
• WARNING: Keep out of the
reach of children. Ingestion may
cause chemical burns, perfora-
tion of soft tissues and death.
Severe burns may occur within
2 hours after ingestion. Seek
medical attention immediately.
• The normal temperature range
for charging the battery is 4 -
40 °C.
• Misuse may cause  uid to leak
from the battery. Avoid contact
with it. In case of accidental
contact, rinse with water. If the
 uid gets into your eyes, seek
additional medical attention.
Leaking battery  uid can cause
skin irritation or burns.
• Do not expose the device or
battery to excessive tempera-
tures.
• Be aware of the risk of short-cir-
cuiting the poles of the battery-
powered device or battery by
metal objects.
• Do not use modi ed or dam-
aged batteries.

instructions use the machine. Lo-

• Do not work with damaged or
incomplete equipment, or with
equipment that has been con-
verted without the approval of
the manufacturer. Before initial
operation, have a specialist
check that the required electri-
cal protection measures are in
place.
• Monitor the equipment dur-
ing operation (particularly in
residential spaces, in order to
detect automatic switching off
or dry running of the pumps
in time. Regularly check the
function of the  oat switch (see
chapter “Operational start-up“).
Non-observance will invali-
date all guarantee and liability
claims.
• The pump is not suitable for con-
tinuous operation (e.g. for wa-
ter features in garden ponds).
Check the equipment regularly
for correct functioning.
• Note that the lubricants used in
the equipment may cause dam-
age or contamination if they
escape. Do not use the pump in
garden ponds with  sh stocks or
valuable plants.
• Do not carry or  x the equip-
ment by the cable or pressure
line.
• Protect the equipment from frost
and from running dry.
• Use only original accessories
and do not carry out conversion
work on the equipment.
• Please read the notes in the op-
erating instructions on the topic
of “Maintenance and Cleaning”
and “Storage”. Any measures
above and beyond these, par-
ticularly opening the equipment,
are to be carried out by an elec-
trician. In the case of repairs, al-
ways contact our service centre.
Additional safety

battery rain barrel pump
is placed in an area that is
safe from  ooding.
• Do not use any accessories
that are not recommended
by PARKSIDE. This can result
in electric shock or  re.

Operational start-up
Assembly
Mounting the wall bracket
1. Fix the wall bracket (15) to a wall with
three screws (not included).
Note that the distance of the wall
bracket (15) to the rain barrel is
limited by the length of the connection
cable (10) and the depth of the rain
barrel.

Fastening the control unit (Fig. A)
2. Remove the screw (16) from the clamp
in the wall bracket (15).
3. Hang the control unit (8) in the wall
bracket (15).
4. Secure the control unit (8) to the wall
bracket (15) with the screw (16).
Connecting the connection hose
5. If necessary, screw the quick-connect
adapter (19) with the sealing ring (20)
onto the thread on the pump (11).
6. Plug the connection hose (17) onto the
quick-connect adapter (19).
Fastening to the rain barrel
As an alternative to the wall bracket (15),
you can also attach the control unit (8) to
the rain barrel.
1. Hang the clip (27) in the control unit
(8) instead of the wall bracket.
2. Attach the clip (27) to the edge of the
rain barrel.
Immersing the pump
Be careful not to hold or
hang the device by the con-
nection cable. There is a risk
of electric shock due to dam-
aged connection cables.
• Use the plastic hook (18) or the con-
nection hose (17) to immerse or raise
the pump.
• Place the pump in the rain barrel. Note
the maximum immersion depth of 1.8
m due to the length of the connection
hose (17).
• Hang the plastic hook (18) on the edge
of the rain barrel.
• Wrap the excess connection cable (10)
around the pump and  x the cable to
one of the cable clips (12) on the side
of the pump.
Beware of dirt and sand accumu-
lating at the bottom of the barrel
over time, which could damage the
pump. We recommend placing the
pump on a brick.
Shortening the connection
hose
(Fig. B)
Shorten the connection hose (17) to avoid
excess hose length.
1. Push the connection hose (17) out of
the plastic hook (18).
2. Turn the coupling nut (25) from the con-
nector (24).
3. Pull the connection hose (17) out of the
connector (24).
4. Shorten the connection hose (17) to the
desired length by cutting off the excess.
5. Reassemble the connection hose (17)
with the connector (24) and the plastic
hook (18) in reverse order.
Connecting the pump to the
control unit
1. Press the plug (14) of the connection
cable (10) onto the connection socket
(9) of the control unit (8).
2. Screw the coupling nut of the plug (14)
onto the connecting socket (9).
Inserting/removing the
battery
(Fig. C)
1. Push the bracket (1) upwards.
2. Fold open the battery cover (26) of the
control unit (8).
3. To insert the battery (21) into the de-
vice, slide the battery along the guide
rails into the device. You will hear them
click into place.

4. To remove the battery (21) from the
device, press the release button (22)
on the battery and pull the battery (21)
out.
5. Close the battery cover (26) of the con-
trol unit (8) again.
6. Press the bracket (1) down.
Operation
The minimum water level on initial
start-up must be 90mm.
Switching on and off
Switching the pump on
1. If necessary, insert the battery (21)
into the control unit (8) (see “Inserting/
removing the battery”).
2. Press the Power button (4). The charge
level indicator (3) lights up and the
pump starts sucking in water.
Switching the pump off
3. Press the Power button (4). The pump
switches off.
4. Remove the battery (21) from the con-
trol unit (8) (see “Inserting/removing
the battery”).
Timer
• With the pump (11) running, press the
button (6).
The LEDs for the timer (7) light up.
Press 1 time -> 5 min use time
Press 2 times -> 10 min use time
Press 3 times -> 15 min use time
As soon as the set use time has
elapsed, the pump switches off auto-
matically.
• Press the button (6) repeatedly until the
LEDs for the timer (7) go out to cancel
the timer prematurely.
Monitor the device during opera-
tion to detect automatic shutdown
or dry running of the pump in good
time and to avoid damage.
Charge level indicator
The charge level of the battery is indicated
by illumination of the corresponding LED
lights on the battery charge level indicator
(3) during operation.
Green LED lights up: Battery >60%
charged
Yellow LED lights up: Battery 60% - 30%
charged
Red LED lights up: Battery 30% - 10%
charged
Red LED fl ashes: Battery <10% charged;
battery needs charging
Charging the battery
If warm, allow the battery to cool be-
fore charging.
Charge the battery (21) when only
the red LED of the charge level indi-
cator on the device or battery is still lit.
1. If necessary, remove the battery (21)
from the device.
2. Slide the battery (21) into the charging
slot of the charger (23).
3. Plug the charger (23) into a power out-
let.
4. Once charging is complete, disconnect
the charger (23) from the mains supply.
5. Pull the battery (21) out of the charger
(23).

Maintenance/
Cleaning/ Storage
Clean and maintain your equipment regu-
larly. This will guarantee its performance
and long durability.
Ask our service centre to car-
ry out any work that is not
described in these instruc-
tions. Use only original parts.
There is a risk of injury!
Remove the battery from the con-
trol panel before carrying out any
maintenance or cleaning work on
the device.
There is a risk of electric shock or
injury from moving parts.
General cleaning instructions
• Clean the pump with clean water after
each use.
• Remove any  uff and  brous particles
that may have become trapped on and
under the pump housing with a water
jet.
Cleaning the fi lter
(Fig. D)
The pump has a  lter at the suction foot
(13) which protects the pump from dirt con-
tamination. Depending on how dirty the
water is, it should be checked occasionally
and cleaned if necessary:
1. If necessary, remove the battery (21)
from the control unit (8).
2. Remove the suction foot (13).
3. Clean the suction foot (13) under run-
ning water.
4. Mount the suction foot (13) in reverse
order.
The pump must not be operated
without the suction foot (13).
Flushing the pump
After pumping heavily polluted water, the
pump must be  ushed to prevent deposits
in the pump.
• Pump lukewarm water (max. 35 °C)
until the pumped water is clear.
Storage
• Clean the pump before storage.
• Store the appliance in a dry, frost-free
place, and where children cannot gain
access to it.
• When the pump is not to be used for
a longer period, it must be thoroughly
cleaned after its last use, and before it
is next used. Otherwise there may be
problems in starting the pump, caused
by deposits and residues.
All other measures, particularly
opening the pump must be carried

out by a quali ed electrician. Al-
ways contact the Service Centre if
repairs are needed.
Waste Disposal and En-
vironmental Protection
Remove the battery from the device and
take the device, battery, accessories and
packaging for environmentally friendly
recycling.
Machines do not belong with do-
mestic waste. The crossed out waste
bin symbol means that this product
must not be disposed of with house-
hold waste after its service life.
Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical
and electronic equipment: Consumers are
legally obliged to recycle electrical and
electronic equipment in an environmen-
tally sound manner at the end of its life.
In this way, environmentally friendly and
resource-saving recycling is ensured.
Depending on the implementation in na-
tional law, you may have the following
options:
• Return to a shop,
• Hand over to an of cial collection
point,
• Return to the manufacturer/distributor.
This does not affect accessories enclosed
with the old devices or tools without any
electrical components.
Do not throw batteries into domestic
waste,  re (risk of explosion) or wa-
ter. Damaged batteries can harm the
environment and your health if poisonous
fumes or liquids escape.
Dispose of the batteries according to local
standards. Defective or used batteries must
be recycled in accordance with Directive
2006/66/EC. Hand in the batteries at a
used battery collection point where they
are recycled in an environmentally friendly
manner. For more information, please con-
tact your local waste management provider
or our service centre.
Dispose of batteries in a discharged state.
We recommend covering the contacts with
an adhesive strip to protect against short
circuits. Do not open the battery.

Guarantee
Dear Customer,
This equipment is provided with a 3-year
guarantee from the date of purchase.
In case of defects, you have statutory rights
against the seller of the product. These
statutory rights are not restricted by our
guarantee presented below.
Terms of Guarantee
The term of the guarantee begins on the
date of purchase. Please retain the original
receipt. This document is required as proof
of purchase.
If a material or manufacturing defect
occurs within three years of the date of
purchase of this product, we will repair or
replace – at our choice – the product for
you free of charge. This guarantee requires
the defective equipment and proof of pur-
chase to be presented within the three-year
period with a brief written description of
what constitutes the defect and when it oc-
curred.
If the defect is covered by our guarantee,
you will receive either the repaired product
or a new product. No new guarantee pe-
riod begins on repair or replacement of the
product.
Guarantee Period and Statutory
Claims for Defects
The guarantee period is not extended by
the guarantee service. This also applies for
replaced or repaired parts. Any damages
and defects already present at the time of
purchase must be reported immediately af-
ter unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry
of the guarantee period are chargeable.
Guarantee Cover
The equipment has been carefully pro-
duced in accordance with strict quality
guidelines and conscientiously checked
prior to delivery.
The guarantee applies for all material and
manufacturing defects. This guarantee
does not extend to cover product parts that
are subject to normal wear and may there-
fore be considered as wearing parts (e.g.
 lter) or to cover damage to breakable
parts (e.g. switches).
This guarantee shall be invalid if the prod-
uct has been damaged, used incorrectly or
not maintained. Precise adherence to all of
the instructions speci ed in the operating
manual is required for proper use of the
product. Intended uses and actions against
which the operating manual advises or
warns must be categorically avoided.
The product is designed only for private
and not commercial use. The guarantee
will be invalidated in case of misuse or
improper handling, use of force, or inter-
ventions not undertaken by our authorised
service branch.
In particular, there is no warranty claim
when pumping abrasive materials (sand,
stones) or aggressive liquids, as this may
damage seals, impeller, motor or other
parts.
Caution: The rain barrel pump is not suita-
ble as a continuous running pump (e.g. for
streams or pond fountains). The warranty
claim will expire in case of misuse.
The warranty claim will also become void
if the rain barrel pump is used without
a baseplate or in the event of damage
caused by holding or hanging on to the
mains connection cable. The rain barrel
pump must not run dry or be exposed to
frost.

To ensure quick handling of you issue,
please follow the following directions:
• Please have the receipt and identi ca-
tion number (IAN419638_2204)
ready as proof of purchase for all en-
quiries.
• Please  nd the item number on the rat-
ing plate.
• Should functional errors or other de-
fects occur, please initially contact the
service department speci ed below by
telephone or by e-mail. You will then
receive further information on the pro-
cessing of your complaint.
• After consultation with our customer
service, a product recorded as defec-
tive can be sent postage paid to the
service address communicated to you,
with the proof of purchase (receipt) and
speci cation of what constitutes the
defect and when it occurred. In order
to avoid acceptance problems and
additional costs, please be sure to use
only the address communicated to you.
Ensure that the consignment is not sent
carriage forward or by bulky goods,
express or other special freight. Please
send the equipment inc. all accessories
supplied at the time of purchase and
ensure adequate, safe transport pack-
aging.
Repair Service
For a charge, repairs not covered by the
guarantee can be carried out by our ser-
vice branch, which will be happy to issue
a cost estimate for you.
We can handle only equipment that has
been sent with adequate packaging and
postage.
Attention: Please send your equipment to
our service branch in clean condition and

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Kauf Ihres
neuen Gerätes. Sie haben sich damit für
ein hochwertiges Gerät entschieden. Die-
ses Gerät wurde während der Produktion
auf Qualität geprüft und einer Endkontrolle
unterzogen. Die Funktionsfähigkeit Ihres
Gerätes ist somit sichergestellt.
Es ist deshalb nicht auszuschließen, dass
sich in Einzelfällen am oder im Gerät bzw.
in Schlauchleitungen Restmengen von Was-
ser benden. Dies ist kein Mangel oder
Defekt und kein Grund zur Besorgnis.
Die Betriebsanleitung ist Bestandteil
dieses Gerätes. Sie enthält wichtige
Hinweise für Sicherheit, Gebrauch und Ent-
sorgung. Machen Sie sich vor der Benut-
zung des Gerätes mit allen Bedien- und Si-
cherheitshinweisen vertraut. Benutzen Sie
das Gerät nur wie beschrieben und für die
angegebenen Einsatzbereiche.
Bewahren Sie die Betriebsanleitung gut auf
und händigen Sie alle Unterlagen bei Wei-
tergabe des Gerätes an Dritte mit aus.
Bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung
Die Regenfasspumpe ist zur Förderung von
Wasser aus einer Regentonne bzw. einem
Regensammelbehälter bestimmt. Sie ist be-
sonders zur Gartenbewässerung geeignet.
Das Gerät ist ausschließlich zur Förderung
von Klarwasser und Regenwasser bis zu
einer Temperatur von max. 35°C vorge-
sehen.
Jede andere Verwendung, die in dieser Be-
triebsanleitung nicht ausdrücklich zugelas-
sen wird (z.B. die Förderung von Lebens-
mitteln, Salzwasser, Motorenkraftstoffen,
chemischen Produkten oder Wasser mit
abrasiven Stoffen), kann zu Schäden am

Funktionsbeschreibung
Die Pumpe ist mit einer Zeitschaltung aus-
gestattet, der die Pumpe nach Ablauf auto-
matisch abschaltet.
Ein Kunststoffhaken mit Anschlussschlauch
kann in das Regenfass eingehängt werden
und ermöglicht die bequeme Wasserent-
nahme über einen Wasserschlauch.
