Removal and Replacement
Procedures
This section describes how to remove and install components from the device.
Tools Required
The following tools are required to perform maintenance on the device:
• Phillips screwdriver
• Tweezers
• Plastic pry
Service Considerations
Do the following prior to performing any maintenance procedures:
1. Unplug the AC adapter and remove all cables connections.
2. Turn o the device.
3. Place the device on a at and stable surface.

Removing Battery
1. Slide the release latch to
unlock the battery cover.
2. Lift the battery cover to
remove it
3. Lift the battery pack to
remove it.

Removing Lower Case
Prerequisite:
• Removing Battery on page
6
1. Unfasten the 6 screws
securing the lower and
upper cases.
2. Open the printer lid cover
and remove the 2 screws.
3. Carefully remove the lower
case.
CAUTION: Do not
completely remove the
lower case, cables are still
connected underneath.

4. Disconnect the cable
from the interface board
connector. This releases
the lower case completely
o the upper case.

1. Unfasten the 2 screws.
2. Remove the customer
display bracket.
3. Disconnect the customer
display cable from the
interface board.

1. Unfasten the 4 screws
securing the interface
board to the lower case.
2. Disconnect the speaker
cable.
3. Disconnect the Fingerprint
scanner cable.
4. Disconnect the camera
cable.

from the Fingerprint
scanner bracket.
2. Remove the Fingerprint
scanner.

1. Remove the camera
module.
2. Remove the speaker.
3. Remove the vibrator.

Removing Waterproof Rubber Gasket
Prerequisite:

1. Remove the waterproof
rubber gasket from the
lower case.

1. Disconnect the printer
cable from the mainboard.
2. Unfasten the 2 screws.
3. Carefully disconnect the
mainboard from the rear
board and remove it.

from the MSR.
2. Press the MSR into the
case.
3. Remove the MSR.

1. Disconnect the printer
cable.
2. Disconnect the RFID cable.
3. Disconnect the WIFI&BT
antenna.

4. Disconnect the 4G
antenna.
5. Disconnect the GPS
antenna.
6. Unfasten the 9 screws
from the rear board.
