ZKTeco SpeedFace Reader - SF1008+ & SF1005-V+
Overview
Setting up Temp only mode
3rd Party
The SpeedFace reader can be used with Net2 to permit or
deny access based on the user’s temperature. When a tem-
perature is detected outside of the set threshold the reader
will notify the user that there is an abnormal temperature
and deny access.
This application note will run through the following modes
of operation:
• Temp only
• Token (MIFARE® only) + Temp
• Face + Temp
Out of the box, the SpeedFace reader will detect a face, determine the temperature and providing it is
below the set threshold, permit access by ring the relay on the reader.
Using this method, the SpeedFace reader relay can be wired in line with a Paxton reader on the Yellow
data port. This will prevent the Paxton reader from functioning until the user has passed the tempera-
ture check.

COM
The default door lock delay on the SpeedFace reader is 5 seconds. To allow sucient time for the user to
present their token to the Paxton reader, you may wish to increase this via the menu on the SpeedFace
reader.
*Allow unregistered access must be enabled in the SpeedFace reader for temperature only to work
properly. 1

Connecting the reader to a Net2 Plus controller
There are two other main modes of operation; Token + Temp and Face + Temp. In both cases the Speed-
Face reader should be wired to the Net2 plus as shown in the diagram below:
Congure the reader port settings for the ACU the reader has been connected to as shown in the
screenshot below:
Once you have wired up the reader and setup the reader in Net2, the SPEEDFACE reader will need to
be congured. Using the instructions provided with the reader, update the following settings:
• Authentication type - should be set in the menu, select your desired operating mode (Temper
ature is activated in another menu) Access Control->Access Control Options->”Verication
Mode”
• Temp settings - can be changed in the Temp menu. System->Detection Management->”Tem
perature over the range; access denied”
• Mask settings: System->Detection Management->”Enable mask detection” and “Deny access
without mask”
*Users must be enrolled on both the SpeedFace reader, and in Net2. Additional users will need to be
added separately in each system.
