Thank&you&for&choosing&our&Rovac®&video&system.&&Before&using,&please&read&these&and&any&
other&instructions&carefully&to&become&aware&of&the&features&and&limitations&of&this&
equipment.&This&manual&should&be&kept&available&for&reference&in&the&future.&
This&system&has&a&wired&primary&camera&with&centering&device&and&a&handy&wireless&camera&
for&handheld&smoke&chamber&inspections.&&The&wireless&video&monitor&is&used&to&view&and&
record&either&camera’s&images.&&&

Basic&Setup&-&The&5”&wireless&color&monitor&is&also&a&digital&video&recorder.&&Charge&up&using&
the&mini-USB&AC&or&computer&cords&provided.&&6-10&hours&initial&charge&then,&when&in&use,&
4-6&hours&are&needed&for&a&full&charge.&&Unplug&when&charge&is&complete!&&A&microSD&card&is&
in&the&slot&on&the&left&side&of&the&camera&if&recording&is&desired.&&Screw&on&the&antenna&to&the&
right&side&brass&fitting&and&adjust&for&use.&&Always&store&antenna&down&and&tucked&away&to&
prevent&damage.&&Install&the&video&signal&cable&as&shown&in&Fig.&1&and&2.&&Push&power&button&
for&3-5&seconds&and&release&to&start&unit&and&see&the&splash&screen.&
NOTE:&The&USB&Chargers&are&for&this&unit&only!&&If&using&this&device&infrequently&charge&it&
every&2-3&months&for&longest&life.&&You&can&use&the&unit&while&charging&but&battery&does&
suffer&somewhat&from&partial&charging.&

Wireless!Camera!with!swivel!mount!base!
The&wireless&camera&has&a&limited&range&in&chimneys&but&is&good&for&handheld&scanning&of&
smoke&chambers,&thimbles,&or&chimney&exterior.&&Charge&ONLY&with&provided&charger&for&AC&
or&charger&for&auto.&&Front&red&light&will&show&during&charging&and&turns&off&at&full&charge.&&
Note&the&wireless&camera&charger&plug&tip&is&very&small.&&The&chargers&for&the&monitor&are&
mini-USB.&&Charge&camera&for&2&hours&prior&to&use.&&Hold&power&button&down&for&3-5&seconds&
then&release&to&engage&camera&light.&&Hit&twice&to&brighten&the&lamps&if&needed.&&Quickly&
turning&off&the&light&will&maintain&video&signal.&&Hold&button&down&to&totally&kill&power&thus&
saving&battery.&&Run&time&is&1&1/2&hours&max.&&Be&sure&to&power&down&when&finished.&&To&
view&image&turn&on&wireless&DVR&and&signal&will&automatically&be&received&so&long&as&the&
wired&camera&is&not&in&use.&&NOTE:&Verify&you&have&turned&off&wireless&completely&by&
holding&button&down&over&5&seconds.&&Use&monitor&to&verify&wireless&camera&is&off!&

Wired!Camera!w/AC!Power!adapter!and!switchable!LED.!
This&camera&comes&equipped&with&a&highly&sensitive&CMOS&sensor,&high&luminous&flux&
(f/1.2)&and&wide&view&angle&(90°)&in&a&small&size.&
10&high&brightness&white&light&LED&lamps&enable&the&effective&recording&distance&of&up&to&16’&
(5m)&in&complete&darkness.&&
Camera&provides&520&lines&of&resolution&in&true&color.&&
The&ButtonLok&centering&device&protects&and&holds&the&wired&camera&securely&with&a&view&
straight&up&(only)&the&chimney&or&duct&being&inspected.&
The&cable&end&of&the&camera&has&a&3.5mm&plug&and&on/off&LED&switch.&&The&correct&
connection&is&as&shown&in&Fig.&1.&&The&wired&camera&3.5mm&end&goes&into&the&only&port&it&fits.&&&

Turn&on&monitor&to&verify&picture.&&Locate&camera&in&the&holder&and&see&that&the&picture&is&
“right&side&up”&and&we&recommend&you&line&camera&up&with&your&ButtonLok&hole.&&In&this&
way&you&can&tell&direction&(N-S-E-W)&when&scanning.&&Tighten&the&camera&holding&set&screw&
with&soft&tip&(2.5mm)&so&it&holds&the&camera&in&that&position.&&Then&install&the&top&cap&with&
centering&strands&by&screwing&into&place.&&Secure&this&with&its&set&screw&(3mm).&&There&is&a&
third&set&screw&up&inside&fitting&(4mm)&that&holds&the&lower&centering&strands.&&This&is&only&
loosened&if&you&need&to&change&these&strands&to&make&them&longer&for&instance.&&Turn&on&
lamp&by&pushing&red&button&that&is&near&the&end&of&the&camera&cable&video&connector.&&You&
may&record&with&lamp&off&or&on.&&Move&three&way&switch&to&video.&&Hit&the&record&button&to&
start&recording&video,&you&will&note&time&counter&advances.&&Slide&switch&to&photo&setting&to&
grab&a&picture&of&items&of&particular&interest.&&Switch&back&to&record&video&setting&to&continue&
scan.&&Play&back&by&moving&the&switch&to&the&“play”&setting.&&This&may&be&done&on&montor&or&
view&later&on&a&computer&(plug&into&USB&on&computer&and&turn&on&to&see&DCIM&and&Record&
and&Photo&folders).&&&Add&ButtonLok&rods&and&proceed&to&scan&playing&out&cable&as&you&go.&&
Be&careful&not&to&damage&cable&end&by&pulling&on&it.&&Proceed&very&cautiously&around&sharp&
metal&objects&such&as&liner&edges&or&top&plates&as&cable&may&catch&and&be&damaged.&

The&monitor&battery&will&provide&lamp&power&and&camera&power&which&enables&monitor&to&
show&an&image.&&If&monitor&battery&is&depleted&plug&into&wall&with&AC&power&supply/charger.&

The&AC&charger&may&be&used&to&run&
system&or&charge&using&port&shown.&
There&is&a&touch&of&paint&on&the&cable&end&
and&monitor&that&will&match.&
