Overview
Adding to Z-Wave
T
Network
T is product can be operated in any Z-Wave network wit ot er Z-Wave certified de-
vices from ot er manufacturers. All non-battery operated nodes wit in t e network will
act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of t e network.
T e table below lists an operation summary of basic Z-Wave functions. Please refer
to t e instructions for your Z-Wave

(Inclusion)
1. Set your Z-Wave controller into
inclusion mode by following t e
instructions provided by t e controller
manufacturer.
LED light will flash slowly.

inclusion mode.
If t e learning code is successful, t e

Remove (Exclusion) 1. Put your Z-Wave controller into
exclusion mode by following t e

controller manufacturer.
2. Press t e include button of t e PAT12

exclusion mode.
3. Node ID as been excluded. LED light will flash for 30
seconds.
Reset 1. Press t e include button of t e PAT12
t ree times wit in 3 seconds to enter
inclusion mode.

SmartStart 1. Product as a DSK string, you can key

smart start process, or you can scan

2. SmartStart enabled products can be

scanning t e Z-Wave QR Code
present on t e product providing. No

SmartStart product will be added

 Adding a node ID allocated by Z-Wave Controller means inclusion. Removing a node
ID allocated by Z-Wave Controller means exclusion.
 Failed or success in including/excluding t e node ID can be viewed from t e Z-Wave
Controller.

State Type LED Indication
No node ID Under normal operation, w en t e Switc as not been allocated a node ID, t e
LED lig t will flas on and off alternately at 30 second intervals. By pressing
On/Off button, t e lig t will stop flas ing temporarily.
Learning W en t e PAT12 is in learning mode, if t e learning code is successful, t e LED
lig t will flas slowly.

2. Firmware update over t e air (OTA)
PAT12 is based on 500 series SoC and supports Firmware Update Command
Class, it can receive updated firmware images sent by a controller via t e Z-wave
RF media. It is a elpful and convenient way to improve functions, if needed.

Over The Air (OTA) Firmware Update
T e device supports Z-Wave firmware update via OTA.
Before starting t e update, please remove t e front case of t e device ot erwise t e
ardware c eck will fail.
Let t e controller into firmware update mode, and press t e front tamper key once to
start t e update.
After firmware download is complete, t e LED lig t will flas intermittently.
