battery

They
require
no
separate
recharger
but
are
recharged
automatically
in
this
set
whenever
connected

wall
outlet.
Use

Gates"
power

recharge-
able
D-cells
are
not
recharged

battery
supply

switched
off
when
the
set
is
connected

the
mains.
When

wave
band

For
FM,
pull
out
the
telescopic
aerial.
To
improve
FM-reception,
incline
and
turn
the
aerial.
Reduce
its
length
if
the
FM-signal
is
too
strong
(too
close
to
a
transmitter).
For
AM/MW
and
LW
(Medium
and
Long
Wave),
the
set
is
provided
with
a
built-in
aerial,
so
there
is
no
need
to
use
the
tel-
escopic
aerial.
The
aerial
can
be
directed
by
turning
the
whole
set.
Tune
to
a
radio
station
using
the
TUNING
knob.
When
receiving
a
FM-stereo
transmission
a
disturbing
noise
may
be
heard
due
to
a
weak
FM-stereo
signal.
This
can
be
suppressed
by
setting
the
BAND
selector
to
FM
MONO.
You
will
then
hear
(and
record)
the
FM
pro-
gramme
in
mono.
The
setis
switched
off
if
the
MODE
selector
is
inthe
TAPE
OFF
and
the
recorder
buttons
are
released.

cover.
The
CD-player
starts
and
scans
the
contents
list
of
the
CD.
After
that,
the
total
playing
time
and
the
number
of
tracks
appear
on
the
display
and
the
CD-
player
stops.
e
Playback
will
start
by
pressing
PLAY.
Assoonas
playback
starts,
the
display
shows
the
track
number
and
the
elapsed
playing
time
of
that
title.
e
Adjust
the
sound
with
the
VOLUME
control
and
the
DYNAMIC
BASS
BOOST
bass

ton.

brief
interruptions,
