Important
Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and save them for future
reference.
Check if the voltage indicated on the base of the kettle corresponds to the local mains
voltage before you connect the appliance.
Only use the kettle in combination with its original base.
Always place the base and the kettle on a dry, at and stable surface.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children. Do not let the mains cord hang
over the edge of the table or worktop. Excess cord can be stored in the base of the
appliance.
Keep the cord, the base and the appliance away from hot surfaces.
Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug, the base or the appliance itself is
damaged.
If the mains cord is damaged, it must always be replaced by Philips, a service centre
authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not immerse the appliance or the base in water or any other liquid.
The kettle is only meant for boiling water. Do not use it to heat up soup or other liquids or
jarred, bottled or tinned food.
Boiling water can cause serious burns. Be careful when the kettle contains hot water.
Never ll the kettle beyond the maximum level indication. If the kettle has been overlled,
boiling water may be ejected from the spout and cause scalding.
Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. Be careful when you open the lid immediately
after the water has boiled: the steam coming out of the kettle is very hot.
Avoid touching the body of the kettle, as it gets very hot during use.
Always lift the kettle by its handle.
Always make sure the water in the kettle at least covers the bottom of the kettle to prevent
the kettle from boiling dry.
Some condensation may appear on the base of the kettle.This is perfectly normal and does
not mean that the kettle has any defects.

Depending on the hardness of the water in your area, small spots may appear on the heating
element of your kettle when you use it.This phenomenon is the result of scale build-up on
the heating element and on the inside of the kettle over time.The harder the water, the
faster scale will build up. Scale can occur in different colours.Although scale is harmless, too
much scale can inuence the performance of your kettle. Descale your kettle regularly by
following the instructions given in the chapter ‘Descaling’.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence available today.
Boil-dry protection
This kettle is equipped with boil-dry protection.This device will automatically switch the kettle off if
it is accidentally switched on when there is no water or not enough water in it.The on/off switch
will stay in ‘on’ position, but the power-on light ring will go out. Set the on/off switch to ‘off ’ and let
the kettle cool down for 10 minutes.Then lift the kettle from its base to reset the boil-dry
protection.The kettle is now ready for use again.
Before rst use
1 Remove stickers, if any, from the base or kettle.
2 Place the base on a dry, stable and at surface.
3 You can adjust the length of the cord by turning the cord winder clockwise to make it
shorter or anticlockwise to make it longer (Fig. 2).
Before using the kettle for the rst time:
4 Rinse the kettle with water.
5 Fill the kettle with water up to the maximum level and let it boil once (see ‘Using the
appliance’).
6 Pour out the hot water and rinse the kettle once more.
Using the appliance
1 Open the lid by pressing the lid release button (Fig. 3).
2 Fill the kettle with water (Fig. 4).
You can ll the kettle either through the spout or through the open lid.
3 Close the lid.
Make sure that the lid is properly closed to prevent the kettle from boiling dry.
4 Place the kettle on its base.
5 Put the plug in the wall socket.
6 Set the on/off switch to ‘on’ (Fig. 5).
The power-on light ring goes on and the kettle starts heating up.
The kettle switches off automatically when the water has reached boiling point.You will hear
a bell and the light ring goes out.
Cleaning and descaling
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents, scourers etc. to clean the kettle.

Never immerse the kettle or its base in water.
Cleaning the kettle
1 Clean the outside of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth moistened with warm water and
some mild cleaning agent.
Cleaning the lter
Scale is not harmful to your health but it may give your drink a powdery taste.The triple-clean
antiscale lter prevents scale particles from ending up in your drink and has a mesh that attracts
scale from the water. Clean the anti-scale lter regularly.
The triple-clean anti-scale lter can be cleaned as follows:
1 Take the lter out of the kettle.
2 Slide the basket off the lter and take the stainless steel mesh out of the basket.
3 Clean the mesh by squeezing and rotating it under a running tap.
4 Gently clean the lter with a soft nylon brush.
You can also leave the lter in the kettle when descaling the whole appliance (see ‘Descaling the
kettle’).
You can also take the lter out of the kettle and clean it in the diswasher.
5 After cleaning the lter under the tap or in the dishwasher, put it back into the kettle by
sliding it behind the brackets.
Descaling the kettle
Regular descaling will prolong the life of the kettle.
In case of normal use (up to 5 times a day), the following descaling frequency is recommended:
Once every 3 months for soft water areas (up to 18 dH).
Once every month for hard water areas (more than 18 dH).
1 Fill the kettle with water up to three-quarters of the maximum level and bring the water to
the boil.
2 After the kettle has switched off, add white vinegar (8% acetic acid) to the maximum level.
3 Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
4 Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly.
5 Fill the kettle with clean water and boil the water.
6 Empty the kettle and rinse it with clean water again.
Repeat the procedure if there is still some scale in the kettle.
You can also use an appropriate descaler. In that case, follow the instructions on the package of the
descaler.
Storage
You can easily store the cord by turning the cord winder in the bottom of the base
clockwise (Fig. 6).
Replacement
You can buy replacement lters for your kettle from your Philips dealer or a Philips service centre.
The table below indicates which lters are suitable for your electric kettle.
If the kettle, the base or the mains cord of the appliance is damaged, take the base or the kettle
to a service centre authorised by Philips for repair or replacement of the cord to avoid a hazard.

La bouilloire est destinée uniquement à l’ébullition de l’eau. Ne l’utilisez pas pour réchauffer
de la soupe, de la nourriture en bocal, en bouteille ou en boîte, ou tout autre liquide.
L’eau bouillante peut causer de graves brûlures. Soyez prudent lorsque la bouilloire contient
de l’eau bouillante.
Ne remplissez jamais la bouilloire au-delà de l’indication du niveau maximal. Si la bouilloire
est trop remplie, de l’eau bouillante risque de s’échapper du bec verseur et de provoquer des
brûlures.
N’ouvrez jamais le couvercle tant que l’eau bout. Soyez prudent si vous ouvrez le couvercle
lorsque l’eau vient de bouillir : la vapeur s’échappant de la bouilloire est extrêmement
chaude.
Évitez tout contact avec la bouilloire. En effet, elle peut devenir très chaude pendant
l’utilisation.

Déplacez toujours la bouilloire à l’aide de sa poignée.
Vériez bien que le fond de la bouilloire est recouvert d’eau. La bouilloire ne doit jamais
chauffer à vide.
De la condensation peut apparaître à la base de la bouilloire. Ce phénomène est normal. Il ne
s’agit pas d’un dysfonctionnement de la bouilloire.
Selon la qualité de l’eau de votre région, de petites particules peuvent apparaître sur la
résistance de votre bouilloire lorsque vous l’utilisez. Ce phénomène est dû à la formation de
dépôts sur la résistance et à l’intérieur de la bouilloire. Plus l’eau est calcaire, plus vite les
dépôts se forment. Les dépôts peuvent être de couleurs différentes. Bien que les dépôts ne
soient pas dangereux, ils peuvent diminuer les performances de votre bouilloire. Détartrez
régulièrement votre bouilloire en suivant les instructions du chapitre « Détartrage ».
Champs électromagnétiques (CEM)
Cet appareil Philips est conforme à toutes les normes relatives aux champs électromagnétiques
(CEM). Il répond aux règles de sécurité établies sur la base des connaissances scientiques actuelles
s’il est manipulé correctement et conformément aux instructions de ce mode d’emploi.
Coupure automatique en cas de marche à vide
Cette bouilloire est équipée d’une protection contre la marche à vide. L’appareil s’éteint
automatiquement s’il est allumé alors qu’il est vide ou qu’il contient une quantité d’eau insufsante.
Le bouton marche/arrêt reste sur la position On (Marche) et le voyant d’alimentation s’éteint.
Positionnez le bouton marche/arrêt sur Off (Arrêt) et laissez la bouilloire refroidir pendant
10 minutes. Soulevez ensuite la bouilloire de son socle an de réinitialiser la coupure automatique
en cas de marche à vide. La bouilloire est de nouveau prête à l’emploi.
Avant la première utilisation
1 Retirez tout autocollant du socle ou de la bouilloire, le cas échéant.
2 Placez la bouilloire sur une surface sèche, stable et plane.
3 Vous pouvez ajuster la longueur du cordon en le tournant dans le sens des aiguilles d’une
montre pour le raccourcir ou dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre pour le
rallonger (g. 2).
Avant la première utilisation de la bouilloire :
4 Rincez la bouilloire à l’eau.
5 Remplissez la bouilloire d’eau jusqu’au niveau maximal et faites-la bouillir une fois (voir le
chapitre « Utilisation de l’appareil »).
6 Versez l’eau bouillante, puis rincez de nouveau la bouilloire.
Utilisation de l’appareil
1 Ouvrez le couvercle en appuyant sur le bouton de déverrouillage (g. 3).
2 Remplissez la bouilloire d’eau (g. 4).
Vous pouvez remplir la bouilloire d’eau par le bec verseur ou bien ouvrir le couvercle, puis verser
l’eau.
3 Fermez le couvercle.
Assurez-vous que le couvercle est correctement fermé an d’éviter l’évaporation de l’eau.
4 Placez la bouilloire sur son socle.
5 Branchez le cordon d’alimentation sur la prise secteur.
6 Réglez l’interrupteur marche/arrêt sur On (Marche) (g. 5).

Le voyant d’alimentation s’allume et la bouilloire commence à chauffer.
La bouilloire s’éteint automatiquement dès que l’eau se met à bouillir. L’appareil émet un
signal sonore et le voyant lumineux s’éteint.
Nettoyage et détartrage
Débranchez toujours l’appareil avant de le nettoyer.
N’utilisez jamais de produits abrasifs, tampons à récurer, etc., pour nettoyer la bouilloire.
N’immergez jamais la bouilloire ni le socle dans l’eau.
Nettoyage de la bouilloire
1 Nettoyez l’extérieur de la bouilloire à l’aide d’un chiffon humide et d’un peu de détergent.
Nettoyage du ltre
Les dépôts de calcaire ne sont pas dangereux pour la santé mais peuvent donner un goût particulier
à vos boissons. Grâce au ltre 3-Clean anticalcaire, vos boissons ne comportent aucune particule de
calcaire. Nettoyez régulièrement le ltre.
Le ltre 3-Clean anticalcaire peut être nettoyé comme suit :
1 Retirez le ltre de la bouilloire.
2 Sortez le panier du ltre en le faisant coulisser et retirez la maille en acier inoxydable du
panier.
3 Nettoyez le ltre sous l’eau du robinet en le frottant des deux côtés.
4 Nettoyez délicatement le ltre à l’aide d’une brosse douce en nylon.
Vous pouvez aussi laisser le ltre dans la bouilloire lors du détartrage de l’appareil (voir la
section « Détartrage de la bouilloire »).
Vous pouvez retirer le ltre de la bouilloire et le mettre au lave-vaisselle.
5 Après avoir nettoyé le ltre sous l’eau du robinet ou au lave-vaisselle, replacez-le dans la
bouilloire en l’insérant derrière les glissières.
Détartrage de la bouilloire
Un détartrage régulier prolongera la durée de vie de votre appareil.
Pour une utilisation normale (jusqu’à 5 fois par jour), il est conseillé de détartrer votre bouilloire
comme suit :
tous les 3 mois si votre eau est douce (jusqu’à 18 °F) ;
chaque mois si votre eau est dure (supérieure à 18 °F).
1 Remplissez la bouilloire aux trois quarts de la capacité maximale et portez l’eau à ébullition.
2 Quand l’appareil s’est arrêté, ajoutez du vinaigre blanc (8 % d’acide acétique) jusqu’au niveau
maximal.
3 Laissez la solution agir dans la bouilloire jusqu’au lendemain.
4 Videz la bouilloire et rincez scrupuleusement l’intérieur.
5 Remplissez la bouilloire avec de l’eau fraîche et faites bouillir l’eau.
6 Videz la bouilloire et rincez-la de nouveau.
Répétez cette opération s’il y a encore des particules de calcaire dans la bouilloire.
Vous pouvez également utiliser un détartrant spécial. Dans ce cas, suivez les instructions indiquées
sur l’emballage.

Rangement
Vous pouvez facilement ranger le cordon en l’enroulant dans le sens des aiguilles d’une
montre à la base de l’appareil (g. 6).
Remplacement
Vous pouvez vous procurer des ltres de remplacement auprès de votre revendeur Philips ou d’un
Centre Service Agréé Philips. Le tableau ci-dessous donne un aperçu des ltres recommandés pour
votre bouilloire électrique.

Jangan membuka tutupnya saat air sedang mendidih. Berhati-hatilah saat membuka tutupnya

Tergantung dari tingkat kesadahan air di daerah Anda, bintik-bintik kecil dapat muncul pada
elemen pemanas pada ketel saat Anda menggunakannya. Fenomena ini adalah akibat tumpukan
kerak pada elemen pemanas dan di bagian dalam ketel setelah pemakaian beberapa lama.
Semakin sadah airnya, semakin cepat terbentuk kerak. Kerak dapat terbentuk dalam berbagai
warna. Meskipun kerak ini tidak berbahaya, terlalu banyak kerak dapat mengganggu kinerja
ketel Anda. Hilangkan kerak di ketel secara teratur, dengan mengikuti petunjuk dalam bab
‘Membersihkan kerak’.
Medan elektromagnet (EMF)
Alat Philips ini mematuhi semua standar yang berkenaan dengan medan elektromagnet (EMF). Jika
ditangani sebagaimana layaknya dan sesuai dengan petunjuk dalam petunjuk pengguna ini, alat
tersebut aman digunakan menurut bukti ilmiah yang kini tersedia.
Perlindungan didih-kering
Ketel ini dilengkapi perlindungan mendidih dalam keadaan kering. Perangkat ini secara otomatis
mematikan ketel jika tanpa sengaja dinyalakan saat ketel kosong atau airnya kurang. Saklar on/off akan
tetap pada posisi ‘on’, namun lingkaran lampu tanda hidup akan padam. Setel saklar on/off ke ‘off ’ dan
biarkan ketel dingin selama 10 menit. Kemudian angkat ketel ini dari alasnya untuk menyetel ulang
perlindungan merebus dalam keadaan kering. Sekarang ketel siap digunakan lagi.
Sebelum menggunakan alat pertama kali.
1 Lepaskan stiker, jika ada, dari bagian alas atau ketel.
2 Letakkan alas di permukaan yang kering, stabil dan rata.
3 Anda dapat menyesuaikan panjang kabelnya dengan memutar penggulung kabelnya searah
jarum jam agar menjadi lebih pendek atau berlawanan arah jarum jam untuk
memanjangkannya (Gbr. 2).
Sebelum menggunakan ketel untuk pertama kali:
4 Bilas ketel dengan air.
5 Isilah ketel dengan air sampai batas maksimum dan biarkan mendidih sekali (lihat
‘Menggunakan alat’).
6 Tuang air panas dan bilaslah ketel sekali lagi.
Menggunakan alat
1 Buka tutupnya dengan menekan tombol pembuka tutup (Gbr. 3).
2 Isi ketel dengan air (Gbr. 4).
Isi ketel dengan air, bisa melalui cerat atau melalui bukaan pada tutupnya.
3 Pasang tutupnya.
Pastikan tutup ketel dirapatkan untuk mencegah ketel mendidih dalam keadaan kering.
4 Letakkan ketel pada alasnya.
5 Masukkan steker ke stopkontak dinding.
6 Setel saklar on/off ke ‘on’ (Gbr. 5).
Lingkaran lampu tanda hidup terus menyala dan ketel mulai panas.
Ketel akan mati secara otomatis bila air telah mencapai titik didih.Anda akan mendengar
sebuah bunyi dan lingkaran lampu akan padam.
Membersihkan dan membuang kerak
Selalu lepaskan alat dari stopkontak sebelum membersihkannya.

Kerak tidak berbahaya bagi kesehatan Anda tapi membuat air minum terasa berbubuk. Filter anti
kerak tiga-pembersihan mencegah partikel kerak mengumpul dalam minuman Anda dan memiliki
kasa/jaring yang menarik kerak dari air. Bersihkan lter kerak ini secara teratur.
Filter anti kerak tiga pembersihan dapat dibersihkan dengan cara berikut:
1 Keluarkan lter seluruhnya dari ketel.
2 Cabut keranjangnya dari lter dan keluarkan kasa baja anti karat dari keranjangnya.
3 Bersihkan kasanya dengan memeras dan memutarnya di bawah air mengalir.
4 Bersihkan perlahan lter dengan sikat nilon yang lembut.
Anda juga dapat membiarkan saringan dalam ketel saat membersihkan kerak pada alat (lihat
‘Membersihkan kerak pada ketel’).
Anda juga dapat mengeluarkan saringan dari ketel dan membersihkannya dalam mesin cuci
piring.
5 Setelah membersihka lter di bawah keran atau dalam mesin cuci piring, masukkan kembali ke
ketel dengan memasangnya di belakang braket.
Membersihkan kerak pada ketel
Membersihkan kerak secara teratur akan memperpanjang masa pakai ketel.
Untuk pemakaian normal (sampai 5 kali sehari), disarankan membersihkan kerak dengan frekuensi
berikut ini:
Setiap 3 bulan sekali untuk wilayah dengan air yang tidak sadah (hingga 18 dH).
Sebulan sekali untuk wilayah dengan air yang sadah (lebih dari 18 dH).
1 Isi ketel dengan air hingga tiga perempat batas maksimum dan rebus hingga mendidih.
2 Setelah ketel dimatikan, tambahkan cuka putih (8% asam asetat) hingga batas maksimum.
3 Biarkan larutan dalam ketel semalaman.
4 Kosongkan ketel dan bilas bagian dalamnya secara seksama.
5 Isi ketel dengan air bersih dan didihkan.
6 Kosongkan ketel dan bilas lagi dengan air bersih.
Ulangi prosedur ini jika masih ada kerak dalam ketel.
Anda juga dapat menggunakan pembersih kerak (descaler). Jika demikian, ikutilah petunjuk pada
kemasannya.
Penyimpanan
Anda dapat menyimpan kabelnya dengan mudah, dengan cara menggulung kabelnya di bagian
bawah alasnya searah jarum jam (Gbr. 6).
Penggantian
Anda dapat membeli lter pengganti untuk ketel dari dealer atau pusat servis Philips. Tabel di bawah
menunjukkan lter mana yang sesuai untuk ketel listrik Anda.

도 있습니다. 본 사용 설명서의 ‘스케일 제거’란에서 설명하는 방법에 따라 정기적

EMF(전자기장)
이 필립스 제품은 EMF(전자기장)와 관련된 모든 기준을 준수합니다. 이 사용 설명서의
지침에 따라 적절하게 취급할 경우 이 제품은 안전하게 사용할 수 있으며 이는 현재까지
의 과학적 증거에 근거하고 있습니다.
건조 상태 가열 방지 기능
이 전기주전자에는 안전을 위해 물이 없는 경우 작동되는 가열 방지 기능이 장착되어 있
습니다. 주전자 속에 물이 없거나 물이 충분하지 않은 상태에서 우연히 제품의 전원이 켜
진 경우, 이 장치가 주전자의 전원을 자동으로 꺼 줍니다. 전원스위치는 “켜짐”의 상태
로 유지되며, 고리 모양 전원 표시등은 꺼집니다. 전원스위치를 “꺼짐” 상태에 놓으시

제품 사용
1 뚜껑 열림 버튼을 눌러서 뚜껑을 여십시오 (그림 3).
2 전기주전자에 물을 채우십시오 (그림 4).
전기주전자의 배출구로 또는 뚜껑을 열고 물을 채우십시오.
3 뚜껑을 닫으십시오.
주전자의 물이 증발되지 않도록 뚜껑을 확실히 닫으십시오.
4 주전자를 받침대 위에 올려놓으십시오.
5 플러그를 벽면 콘센트에 꽂으십시오.
6 전원 스위치를 ‘on(켜짐)’으로 맞추십시오 (그림 5).
고리 모양 전원 표시등이 켜지고 주전자가 가열되기 시작합니다.

필터 세척

게 하고 부착된 필터망은 스케일을 걸러 줍니다. 스케일 방지 필터를 정기적으로 청소하
여 주십시오.
3중 스케일 방지 필터를 청소하는 방법은 다음과 같습니다.
1 전기주전자에서 필터를 꺼내십시오.
2 필터 용기를 밀어 분리한 후 필터에서 스테인리스 망을 꺼내십시오.
3 망을 흐르는 물에 돌려 가면서 짜내어 청소하십시오.
4 부드러운 나일론 브러시로 필터를 가볍게 청소하십시오.
제품에서 스케일 제거 시 필터를 주전자 안에 두어도 괜찮습니다(‘스케일 제거’란

필터를 전기주전자에서 분리하여 식기세척기로 세척할 수도 있습니다.
5 필터를 흐르는 물이나 식기세척기에서 청소한 후에 주전자의 받침대 뒤에 밀어 넣어

전기주전자의 스케일 제거
정기적으로 스케일을 제거하면 제품의 수명이 연장됩니다.

6 주전자를 비우고 맑은 물로 다시 헹구십시오.
