Wayfinder™ 2
!CAUTION
• All wiring should be done by a licensed electrician in accordance with state codes, local codes, and National Electrical Code (NEC) or International Electric
Commission (IEC) standards.
• Improper installation may result in risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons and will void warranty.
• Contains parts and assemblies susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharge (ESD).
• Surge protective devices should be utilized for fixtures installed in environments subject to power surges outside the specified operating parameters.
• The light source contained in this luminaire shall only be replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent or a similar qualified person.
• Installation between control circuit and mains should at least be basic insulation.
• To reduce the risk of strangulation the flexible wiring connected to this luminaire shall be effectively fixed to the wall if the wiring is within arm’s reach.
Mounting
The Wayfinder™2 is shipped with two mounting options as standard. It can be
mounted to a wall or other vertical surface using the two tabs at either side of
the fixture (see Figure 1) or to a bracket using the four tapped holes on the back
of the fixture (see Figure 2). For best performance, mount with the back side of the
fixture in a vertical orientation. Suitable for mounting within 1.2 m (4 ft) of
the ground.
1. Identify the desired mounting location for fixture.
2. If mounting to a surface, use two (2) ¼ inch or 6 mm screws.
3. If mounting to a bracket, use four (4) M6 screws.
4. If EMB version, Emergency Test Button must be visible after
installation without the need to move or remove any parts of
the equipment.

Wiring (EMB)
If fixture is provided with a cord installed:
1. Insert cord into a waterproof junction box (not provided).
2. Connect the wires according to Figure 4 (black to switched line (L2), white to neutral (N), red to charging line (L1), green to ground (PE)).
3. Remove front cover by loosening the six screws. Note that these are captive screws and should not be completely removed from cover.
4. Connect the two wires inside from the battery (see Figure 5).
5. Reattach cover. Use caution not to pinch wires between fixture housing.
6. Tighten screws to 20-23 lb-in (2.2-2.6 N-m).
If fixture is not provided with a cord installed, then standard Wayfinder 2 EMB fixtures are provided with 2 cord grips:
1. Remove front cover by loosening the six screws. Note that these are captive screws and should not be completely removed from cover.
2. Minimum 90°C supply conductors should be used.
3. Insert power supply cord into first cord grip far enough so you are able to see cord jacket inside fixture. Tighten cord grip to 30-35 lb-in (3.5 -4.0 N-m).
4. If installing with through-wire, install second cord same as Step 2.
5. Connect wires using connectors provided according to Figure 4 (black to switched line (L2), white to neutral (N), red to charging line (L1),
green to ground(PE)).
6. Connect the two wires inside from the battery (see Figure 5).
7. Reattach cover. Use caution not to pinch wires between the fixture housing.
8. Tighten screws to 20-23 lb-in (2.2–2.6 N-m).
9. If not installing with through-wire, remove outside cord grip and insert M20 threaded plug into unused cord grip hole. Tighten to 53 in-lbs (6 N-m).
If fixture is not provided with a cord installed, then the standard Wayfinder 2
fixture comes with 2 cord grips:
1. Remove front cover by loosening the six screws. Note that these are
captive screws and should not be completely removed from cover.
2. Minimum 90°C supply conductors should be used.
3. Insert power supply cord into first cord grip far enough so you are able
to see cord jacket inside fixture. Tighten cord grip to 30-35 lb-in
(3.5 -4.0 N-m).
4. If installing with through-wire, install second cord same as Step 2.
5. Connect wires using connectors provided according to Figure 3 (black to
line (L2), white to neutral (N), green to ground (PE)).
6. Reattach cover. Use caution not to pinch wires between fixture housing.
7. Tighten screws to 20-23 lb-in (2.2–2.6 N-m).
8. If not installing with through-wire (non-interconnection type), use
supply cords of at least 16-18 AWG or with a minimum cross-sectional
area 1.0 mm2 - 1.5 mm2 with an outer diameter in range of 5mm-9mm.
Remove outside cord grip and insert M20 threaded plug (supplied) into
unused cord grip hole. Tighten to 53-in-lbs (6 N-m).
9. If installing with through-wire (interconnection type), use supply
cords of at least 12 AWG minimum or with a minimum cross-sectional
area of 4.0 mm2 (for interconnection type). The outside diameter of
cables should be in range of 5mm-9mm. Use a wrench to make the
cord grip(s) and/or threaded plug fully tightened with a torque of
at least 53 in-lbs (6 N-m).

Maintenance
Periodic maintenance and cleaning are required to keep light fixture in peak operating condition. Buildup of dirt and/or debris on fixture will diminish
performance, lead to premature failure and void warranty.
1. Inspect fixture monthly for build up of dirt and debris on lens and housing. Wash fixture with clean water and a soft towel. Do not use an abrasive cleaner
or chemicals as this could cause damage to the lens.
2. Inspect fasteners, verify cord grips are tight and retighten as needed. Note: Cord grips should be tightened to 30-35 lb-in (3.5 -4.0 N-m).
3. For fixtures fitted with an emergency battery backup, press the test button on the side of the fixture. LEDs should dim to about 50% light output
if system is functioning correctly.
4. The battery requires a minimum charge time of 24 hours for full charge. Please conduct a full discharge test at least once per year.
5. LED light source can be replaced with compatible Wayfinder 2 LED PCB Kit ordered from factory.
6. The battery of this luminaire is not replaceable. When light battery reaches end of life, the whole luminaire should be replaced.
7. If cable is damaged, service by qualified personnel.
Operation
During normal operation AC power is applied, the charging indicator light is illuminated, indicating that the battery is being charged. When power fails, the
emergency LED driver automatically switches to emergency power (internal battery), operating the LED load for a minimum of 2 hours (6 hours for 6-hour
version). When AC power is restored, the emergency driver returns to the charging mode.
Suitable Operating Conditions
1. Suitable for use outdoors, ambient temp. -40°C to +50°C for standard version and 0°C to +50°C for EMB version.
