ShoeMount GripHandle
The ShoeMount GripHandle interfaces with the Photofl ex strobe
connector or swivel mounts to provide a convenient hand held
grip option for smaller portable strobes and shoe mount fl ash
applications.
Attaching the Shoe Mount Grip Handle
The grip handle can be attached in two ways to many popular
lighting set ups.
The fi rst method is the direct connector mount method which
utilizes the large 3/8” threaded end of the shaft to screw directly
into the Photofl ex Strobe Connector Fig. 1
The second method is the Indirect or swivel mount method which
utilizes the stud on the Grip handle. In this case the stud profi le on
the end of the shaft is inserted into the swivel mount attached to a
Photofl ex Adjustable Shoe Mount hardware or any 5/8” receiver
which is standard most portable strobes. Fig. 2 - 3
Step 1 To mount directly to the connector and adjustable shoe
mount hardware you will fi rst need the newest version of the
Photofl ex AC-B222SM hardware as the newest version of
the hardware provides a large 3/8” diameter pass hole on the
mounting interface. If the threaded end of the shaft fi ts through
the hole you have the correct version. Fig 4
Step 2 Remove the small threaded guide pin from adjustable
shoe mount hardware Fig. 5
Note: The guide pin can be stored on the underside of the
same tapped hole that you remove it from.
Step 3 Position the adjustable hardware mounting platform with
the guide pin removed against the Strobe Connector, insert the
threaded end of the grip handle and securely tighten. Fig. 6
Step 4 To mount indirectly using a swivel with the AC-B222SM
Adjustable shoe mount hardware, assemble the hardware to the
connector using the stud that is included with that product. Fig. 7
Step 5 Attach the Photofl ex shoe mount multiclamp or other
swivel to the stud and securely tighten the set screw Fig. 8
Step 6 Insert the stud of the grip handle into the swivel and
securely tighten the set screw.
Note: there is a fl at side on the stud, make sure the set screw
makes contact on this side to prevent unwanted rotation of
the assembly. Fig 9
Step 7 To Mount to a portable strobe such as the Photofl ex
TritonFlash simply insert the stud into the Receiver on the lights
swivel and securely tighten the set screw making sure that the set
screw makes contact with the fl at side of the stud as per Step 6
