Opening the Umbrella
The Umbrella opens like a common
rain umbrella. Figures 1 – 4
1. Pull open the Velcro® strap that holds the umbrella closed.
2. Reach under the material to nd the metal slider on the post.
3. Push the slider up the post and the umbrella will open.
4. The umbrella will lock in place when the metal slider is pushed over
the metal locking tab on the post.
Securing the Umbrella to your Light
NOTE: Set up your light stand and light head in the manner suggested by
your equipments’ manufacturers.
Most light heads, head mounng clamps, and LiteStand mounts will
have a receptacle and locking mechanism for securing the umbrella in
front of the light. Figures 5 – 7
5. Here we show a ShoeMount MulClamp (available separately) as
our umbrella and ash support. Slide the post of the umbrella into
the receptacle hole.

8. The ADH and ADW 30 and 45 inch umbrellas can be reshaped,
allowing for ner control of light coverage and shape of light
reecons. Reshaping the umbrella can also save space on the set.
The umbrella is reshaped by moving individual ribs on the umbrella.
9. Four of the eight ribs are staonary and should NOT be moved.
These ribs have loops sewn over the ribs to keep them in place. The
remaining four ribs can be moved.
10. The plasc end cap on each umbrella rib has two receptacle holes
for the ribs. When the umbrella is in its orginal or round shape,
each end cap will have one rib inserted. Gently pull the end-cap
from the end of a movable rib.

Adjustable White Umbrella
The ADW Adjustable White Umbrella has a black exterior with a white
polyurethane-coated interior. This is the most light-ecient white interior
umbrella in the world.
White interior for maximum light reecon with lower contrast than
silver umbrellas. It uses industry exclusive exible oversized berglass ribs
and struts with new and improved beefy rib and strut pivot points. Four
moveable ribs make this umbrella adjustable; allowing you to alter the
shape of the umbrella. Quickly change shape from standard (round) to
square or oval with ease.
Loops hold 4 staonary ribs in
place. Do not cut these loops
or move these ribs.

11. The free rib can now line up directly next to an adjacent rib.
12. Gently pull the end-cap while inserng the free rib into the empty
receptacle hole. Do not cross ribs to insert into end-cap.
13. The loose umbrella material from the corner where each rib was
moved can be folded back and secured with the Velcro fasteners
sewn into the material.
14. Fold the material back and press fasteners together.
15. The umbrella ap looks like this when fastened back.
16. The umbrella can be congured with any number of sides from
eight corners down to four corners.

17. Remove the umbrella from the MulClamp or light. Hold the lower
end of the post with one hand.
18. With the other hand, push the metal locking tab into the post unl
the metal collar is free.
19. Slide the metal collar down the post unl the umbrella is closed.
20. Wrap the Velcro strap around the material and secure.

a berglass composite, which is not only stronger, but also oers beer resiliency and durability than steel
or aluminum. This new feature allows for carefree handling, all but eliminang damage caused from over
