SilverDome
Before assembling your SilverDome sobox, make sure all
components are present.
You will need:
• SilverDome sobox
• Connector for your specic light (not included)
• Four rods
• Inner bae (medium, large, and x-large only)
• Front diuser
SilverDome Sizes
Extra Small 12.5” x 16”: 870367 (FV-SDOXS)
Small 17” x 21”: 870370 (FV-SD1S)
Medium 24.5” x 32”: 870373 (FV-SD2M)
Large 34” x 45”: 870376 (FV-SD3L)
Extra Large 53” x 70”: 870379 (FV-SD4XL)
40 Degree Fabric Grids available for small through large sizes
Assemble the Sobox to the Connector
1. Place the sobox with all four rods into their sleeves on a at,
clean surface.
2. If closed, open all four Quick Release Corners (QRC). Pull
Velcro® tab open at each corner so that rods extend freely.
(Not available on extra small or small SilverDome.)
3. Noce that the connector has nine receptacle holes, three of
which are “tapped”. The small, medium, large and extra large
SilverDomes only use four of the eight octoconnector rod
holes. (The remaining four holes are for use with the
OctoDome®, Photoex’s eight rod sobox.) Current model
OctoConnectors use circle icons ( ) for OctoDomes and
squares icons ( ) for rectangular SoftBoxes.
4. Posion the connector at the center of the sobox and insert
the rst rod into one of the rod receptacles.
NOTE: If you are planning on using the ShoeMount hardware
(AC-B222SM) with this assembly, make sure that one of the
large tapped holes is centered between two inserted rods.
5. Insert the second rod into the hole diagonally opposite the
rst hole.
6. Insert the third and fourth rods.
7. Push the rod into place with your thumb.
8. While pushing the rod into place, pull the QRC ap over rod
p and secure.
9. Repeat this process with remaining corners.
10. The rear aps close by pulling aps toward the connector
and aaching with the Velcro tabs sewn onto each ap.
NOTE: For proper dome shape to be achieved all rods must be
pushed in completely.

Connecng the SilverDome to a Light Source
NOTE: In most cases, the sobox connector is designed to
connect with your light source in the same manner as your light
source’s accessories.
11/12. Connect the light to the sobox connector.
13/14. Carefully li the sobox and light assembly and posion
over the LiteStand. Line up the LiteStand’s riser (stud)
with the stand receptacle hole on the light head. Place the
light head on the LiteStand. Tighten the set screws on
your lights swivel to secure to the LiteStand and prevent
unwanted lt.
15. The inner bae has elasc bands with metal clips at each
of the four corners. The interior of the SilverDome sobox
has four white nylon loops. Secure one metal clip to each
of these loops.
16. Here is the inner bae correctly installed in place.
17. The face diuser is rimmed with Velcro trim that aaches
to its counterpart lining the front of the SilverDome.
Find the long edge of the diuser and line it up with the
long edge of the SilverDome front. Starng at one corner,
press the face diuser in place.
18/19. Work your way around the rim of the sobox unl the
diuser is in place.
20. The SilverDome has heat vent aps on all four sides. For
proper venlaon and to prolong the life of your Silver
Dome, it is recommended that you open up the top
(facing ceiling) vent and boom (facing oor). This will create a
convecon ow of air through the sobox interior.
To prevent unwanted light spill out of the vent, the vent
can be tented in a dome shape to allow air ow.
