Pinnacle AGRI FIRESTORM Phoenix Manual

Instruction Leaflet
Congratulations on your purchase of the unique Firestorm Patio Heater. We hope these instructions will
assist in your enjoyment of this beautiful product. Please retain this for your records as it may be helpful
in the future. Please read all the instructions. Please note the safety warnings, which though common
sense, we include as a reminder to assist and give you trouble free enjoyment!
Siting
Please consider carefully where you will position your Firestorm. Always site it on firm, level ground.
Small amounts of burnt pellet and ash may occasionally fall from the heater, so always site where there is
no danger of igniting dry grass for instance. If in any doubt, position on a patio slab or similar.
General safety
The heater gets very HOT! Please ensure it is always somewhere that is safe. Remember, even after it has
gone out it will remain hot for at least half an hour. Be mindful of the safety of anyone who is going to be
in close proximity and pay close attention to small children and pets.
The heater uses a tube made from heat resistant borosilicate glass. Care must be taken to ensure it isn’t
knocked, particular care is necessary when taking apart, cleaning and assembling as below. Normal
handling will not cause problems, but impact with any hard surface may cause breakage.
Lighting
The Firestorm is lit very easily in a few simple steps.
1. Fill the feed tube with Firestorm Pellets right up to the lid. Ensure you close the lid afterwards.
2. If the glass tube is sat in place, remove the glass tube or have someone lift it up by a foot or so to
allow easy access to the square burn chamber.
3.
Add one capful of white spirit to
the top of the visible pellets in
the square burn chamber.
4.
With the use of a long
-
reach lighter light the top
of the pellets. These will
start to burn immediately.

5. Slide the glass tube back through the support ring (if you removed it completely) and lower
carefully into the base. Twisting the glass tube slightly will help slide into the heat resistant fabric.
The glass tube sits ontop of part of the stove, so you will feel when it has gone in and seated.
There is no rush to do this, the glass will not suddenly get hot at this point, so take your time to
carefully assemble.
6. Leave the Firestorm to get going. Usually, it will be leaping up
toward the top of the tube in 15-20 minutes, burning for about
an hour before going out, giving you a dazzling spectacle as the
flame spins up the glass tube.
Important: On very rare occasions the Firestorm may go out
shortly after lighting and produce smoke. If this happens, quickly
lift the glass tube from the Firestorm and relight it. Heat resistant
gloves may be necessary to remove the glass tube.
7. Extend the burn time by adding more pellets
before the feed tube is empty.
Important: Make sure the heater has at least a quarter of a tube
of pellets left before refilling. Refilling beyond this point can
choke the fire and cause it to smoke rather than flame. Do not
attempt to relight the Firestorm at this stage as the glass is too
hot to remove.
If you notice the flame getting smaller this is most likely due to
ash build-up on the grate, this can easily be removed by holding
the Firestorm near the lid and rocking it. Poking the grate
through the air intake at the back can also help but may not be
necessary.
Notes
As the Firestorm gets going you may notice a humming noise coming from the tube, this is
normal. This will subside once the Firestorm reaches full burn.
Always let the Firestorm cool down completely before disassembly, moving or cleaning.
Never spray water onto the hot tube or use if heavy rainfall is expected. The sudden change in
temperature may cause the glass to break. Light rainfall will not damage the glass.

Cleaning, when the unit is cold!
The tube may get slightly sooty, particularly at the very top. This happens more if a breeze moves the
flame around as it exits from the tube. If wanted, though not necessary, you can clean the tube by
running some water through from a hose and using the Cleaning Sponge available in our Firestorm
Accessory Kit.
Make sure that you are careful. You don’t need to use any detergents or pressure. Any soot will only
be sitting on the surface and comes off very easily. Always do this with the tube resting on something
soft; grass, a cloth or a piece of cardboard. This will reduce the risk of breaking the tube. Once the
tube is clean it can be reassembled into your Firestorm to dry and be ready for next time.
After use, the grate (just inside the ash tray that the pellets burn on) will need a little clean to ensure
the ash does not block the holes. This can easily be done with a small metal rod or tent peg. This is
best achieved from both the top, through the square tube where you light the unit, and through the
back where the ash collects. The small amount of ash can then be cleaned out of the back area using
the Ash Scraper into the Ash Tray ready for the next use of the Firestorm.
Exceptional circumstances:- If you are really unfortunate that the unit has smoked excessively for any
reason and you haven’t noticed you will end up with a tar like film on the inside of the tube. To clean
this it is easiest to spray with “Mr Muscle” oven cleaner or similar. This can be done from both ends of
the tube to get full coverage. Leave for the advised period, then rinse and use the cleaning sponge as
normal. Thoroughly rinse any residue from both the inside and outside. Take heed of all the
instructions when using this type of product and ensure that anyone, particularly children and pets,
do not have access to the area where the tube is being cleaned.
Type and storage of Wood Pellets
Wood pellets are available for purchase on our website. Many stove, fireplace and agricultural
shops also sell them.
Look for pellets that are to “ENplus A1” standard. This guarantees the minimum level of
quality we recommend, other cheaper varieties create more ash and smoke when burnt.
Always store pellets in a dry environment. Wood pellets will readily absorb water if left in
damp conditions. More moisture in your pellets will produce smoke and the glass tube will
have to be cleaned more often.
Try and use some with minimal “bits”. Small fragmented bits of pellets will tend to create
more ash and block the grate area quicker.

Safety Warnings to remember
Site safely on a level surface that is not flammable.
Place a non-burnable tray or flagstone underneath if placing on damageable patio or similar.
Avoid impact on the tube, it is glass and will break if mishandled.
Store inside if hail is likely.
Avoid using when heavy rainfall is likely.
Avoid spraying with hose or similar.
Let the unit cool down before moving or cleaning.
In normal winds the unit is stable, but if high winds are expected then store indoors to avoid
blowing over.
Be particularly conscious of children and pets around the unit whether lit or unlit.
We hope that you will have many hours of delight from your Firestorm Patio Heater!
