GENERAL SAFETY
Contact Event Furniture Limited for information and
advice on the suitability and safety of this type of
equipment. There is a risk of injury if you do
not follow the instructions printed in this guide.
This equipment should only be used by a
competent adult who has read and understood
these instructions. Anyone with a temporary or
permanent disability should seek expert advice before
using the equipment.
Keep all children, animals and bystanders away from
the work area. Ensure the floor of the work area is free
from trip hazards and non-slip.
Never use the equipment if you are ill, tired or
under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Never operate electrical switches with wet hands.
Always switch off and unplug the equipment from
the power supply before moving or cleaning.
Check the equipment before use, if it shows signs
of damage request a replacement.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
The equipment is designed to plug directly into a
standard 240volt, 13 amp socket. Make sure the
equipment and power socket are switched off before
plugging into the power supply.
If the equipment fails to operate or the power cable or
plug becomes damaged, contact Event Furniture
Limited. Do not try to repair it yourself.
Keep the power cable out of harm’s way.
Extension leads should be unwound fully, never
run them through water, over sharp objects or where
they may be a trip hazard.
Use a suitable RCD (Residual Current Operated
Device) to reduce the risk of electric shock.
GENERAL SAFETY
1 Check that the voltage and frequency of your
appliance match your mains voltage before
plugging in. i.e. 220-240v AC 50Hz
2 This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns DO
NOT touch the grilles or heating element during
use or attempt to move the heater.
3 Extreme care should be taken whenever the heater
is left operating and unattended.
4 DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord
or plug, or after the heater malfunctions, has been
dropped, or damaged in any manner. Contact
Event Furniture for advice.
5 DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical
or mechanical functions.
6 Ensure the base is fitted and fully assembled, and
the unit is upright on a flat stable surface before
operating.
7 This heater is designed for use on Patios and in
Beer gardens & smoking areas. The unit has been
IPX5 Weatherproof approved; however, to
prolong the life of the heater it is strongly
recommended that the heater is stored in a shed or
garage during heavy rain. When not in use always
store in a dry area or cover the appliance with the
cover provided.
8 DO NOT run power cord under floor covering, or
cover with rugs or runners. DO NOT hide the
power cord in long grass or leave close to an
operating lawnmower. Arrange the cord away
from areas where it may be tripped over.
9 DO NOT insert or allow objects to touch the
heating element and never place anything on the
heater safety guard (e.g. towels), as this may
damage the heater and could cause an electrical
shock or fire. Never use your heater to dry
washing.

10 If the heating element has stopped glowing it may
still be live, please check that the heat setting
indicates the heater is off. Always disconnect
your appliance from the mains before any
cleaning or replacing tubes.
11 DO NOT use the heater in areas where petrol,
paint, or other flammable substances are stored.
12 Always unplug the heater when not in use. To
disconnect from the power supply, grip the plug
and pull from the power socket. Never pull by the
cord.
13 DO NOT direct the heater towards curtains,
furniture or other flammable objects and ensure
that they are at least 1.5 metres from the front and
1 metre from the top back and sides.
14 Extreme care should be taken when any heater is
used near children and pets.
15 DO NOT sit the heater on soft surfaces, where
openings may become blocked. DO NOT cover.
16 Never locate the heater where it may fall into a
swimming pool or other water container. Never
use in a bathroom or shower room.
17 Do not use this heater in conjunction with a timer
device or any other device, which facilitates
unattended switch on.
18 The electrical cord must be fully unwound before
use.
19 The front grille is intended to prevent direct access
to the heating elements and must be in place
when the heater is on.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Please Note: When the device is turned on, it will
take a 1 minute to start heating & reach max
power.
The heater should not be used in areas where
surface water can rise above the level of the base as
electronic parts are above this point.
1If outdoors - Plug it into a waterproof outlet.
2If indoors plug into a standard UK socket.
3 Only switch the unit on when the appliance is on
a flat and stable surface.
3Power On –take out the power cord from the
back cover of body & connect to the power
socket. The power indicator light will illuminate.

CLEANING
Switch off and unplug the unit.
Before moving or cleaning the unit, unplug from the
power supply and wait for the unit to cool down.
Do not use sharp objects, metal scrapers, wire brushes
or wire wool pads as they can scratch the body of the
unit.
Clean the heater using a soft cloth to wipe off any
dust. If the heater is very dirty, use a damp cloth and
wipe dry. Do not use bleach, any cleaning detergents,
sprays or other chemicals as they will damage the
unit.
When the heater is not in use for an extended period,
clean & place in its cover & store in a dry place.
Warning: Do not light cigarettes or anything else
using the heater element, as it will damage the heating
element.
