MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
Using The Receivers Push-Button Override Switch
YourSecuritySystem can bedisarmed withouttheuseof the keychaintransmitter.Thisis
necessary, since you willneedtheability to operate yourvehicleifthe transmitter is lostor
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthelast page of this manual, to bypassthe alarm system;
1. Open the vehicledoor. The alarm willsound.
2. Turntheignitionkeytotheon position.
3. Within5 seconds, pressandreleasethe push-button overrideswitch.
Thealarmsystem will stopsoundingandenterthe(bypassed)mode. Youcan nowstartand
operatethevehiclenormally.
Typically thisoverride mode is used onlyif the transmitter has become inoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlike override switches easily found, and defeated, this security system allows the con-
sumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level of security. To take
advantageofthisoption, programmable feature # 10 mustbeselectedfortheCustomCode
Option. Consultyour installationcenterforprogrammingdetails.Thesystem comes fromthe
factorywithapre-programmed override code of 11.Tochangethisdefaultoverridecode, do
thefollowing:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turntheignitionswitch to the on position.
2. Within 10seconds, pressand releasethe ReceiversPush-button switch,3 times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesiren or horn willbeepandthe lights will flashonetime.)
4. Within10seconds,begintoenteryourchosen10thsdigitbypressingandreleasingthe
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1 upto 9times.
5. Within 10seconds ofthelast entered 10ths digit,turntheignition switch offthen on.
6. Within 10seconds, begin toenter your chosen unitsdigit by pressingand releasing the
ReceiversPush-buttonswitch from 1 upto 9times.
7. Finish by turningtheignitionswitch to the offposition.
Ifthenew code was accepted,the unitwill reportbackthenewlyentered code, by flashing
theLED,firstindicatingthe10thsdigit, pause and then the units digit. The unitwillreportthe
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming.IftheLEDflashpatternreportsthepreviouslystoredcode,thenewcodewas
notentered correctly. Please repeatsteps1through 7 above consideringthefollowing.
NOTE: Acceptabledigits10ths or unitsare1through9.Theunit will notrecognizea0(Zero),
ornodigit entered in anyplace, unitsor tenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off for more then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
2. Turn theignition switch tothe onposition.
3. Within 10seconds, pressand releasethe ReceiversPush-button switch,3 times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesiren or horn willbeepandthe lights will flashonetime.)
