This manual is intended to be used as a work reference for a
professional/licensed electrician, well-trained and authorised
users to safely install, use, maintain and repair the product
mentioned on the cover of this document.

1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Identication of the product
TheidenticationplateisattachedtothesideoftheSA-24
control box. It contains, among other things, the following
data:
- product name
- serial number
- supply voltage and frequency
1.2 General description
The SA-24 enables you to operate an extraction fan and
halogen lamp cartridge from a switch on the extractor hood.
The starter is wall-mounted. Power is connected to the
extraction fan via the starter. It has a built-in 5 Hp contactor,
which operates the fan via a control voltage of 24V. A halogen
lamp cartridge in the extractor hood may also be connected to
the 24V transformer of the starter.
1.3 Options and accessories
The halogen lamp cartridge can be ordered as an accessory.
1.4 Technical specications
Intended for use at one work station with one extractor and
one fan.
Power supply: 115/208/230/400/480/600V.
Transformer: 24V/30VA for one halogen lamp cartridge
(HL-20/24). The transformer also controls the built-in
contactor.

Intended use1
The product has been designed as a control box to operate an
extraction fan and halogen lamp cartridge in an extraction
hood. Using the product for other purposes is considered
contrary to its intended use. The manufacturer accepts no
liability for any damages or injury resulting from such use. The
product has been built in accordance with state-of-the-art
standards and recognized safety regulations. Only use this
product when in technical perfect condition in accordance with
its intended use and the instructions explained in the user
manual.

- Use common sense. Stay alert and keep your attention to
your work. Do not use the product when you are under the

3 INSTALLATION
WARNING!
Do not attempt installation of this unit unless you
are familiar with the necessary tools, equipment,
utility connections and potential hazards.
Installationshouldbeperformedonlybyaqualied
service provider. Failure to do so could result in
reduced performance of the unit, serious personal
injury or death.
1. “Intended use” as explained in EN-ISO 12100 is the use for which the technical
productissuitedasspeciedbythemanufacturer,inclusiveofhisdirectionsin
the sales brochure. In case of doubt it is the use which can be deduced from
the construction, the model and the function of the technical product which is
considered normal use. Operating the machine within the limits of its intended
use also involves observing the instructions in the user manual.
WARNING!
Fire hazard
Never install the control box in areas with
ammablegases.
ATTENTION
The SA-24 control box is delivered without cables
forexternaleldwiring.Allinterconnectcables/wire
size used shall comply to the NEC codes. The glands
used for inserting the cable into the SA-24 control
box should be placed in the bottom of the casing.
Thecableshouldttightlyintheglandtoprevent
any moisture entering the inside of the SA-24
control box.
3.1 Unpacking
Check that the product is complete. The package should
contain:
- SA-24 control box
- door key
The starter is delivered as standard complete with dual switch
assembly, 10 m (32.8 ft) cable, to be mounted onto the hood,
built-in contactor and a transformer. The contactor must be
ttedwithrelevantfanmotoroverloadprotection(not
included).
3.2 Electric connection
• Connect the SA-24 in accordance with the separately
supplied electrical diagram.
CAUTION!
Electric connection to be executed in accordance
with local requirements. Ensure compliance with the
EMC regulatory arrangements.
WARNING!
Make sure the machine is suitable for connection to
the local mains. Information about the connection
voltage and frequency can be found on the
identicationplate.
4 MAINTENANCE
The SA-24requiresnospecicmaintenance.
5 TROUBLESHOOTING
If the SA-24 does not function (correctly), consult your
supplier.

1 INLEIDING
1.1 Identicatie van het product
Het typeplaatje is bevestigd aan de zijkant van de SA-24-
besturingskast. Dit plaatje bevat onder meer de volgende
gegevens:
- productnaam
- serienummer
- aansluitspanning en frequentie
1.2 Algemene beschrijving
Met de SA-24 kunt u een afzuigventilator en
halogeenlamppatroon bedienen met behulp van een schakelaar
op de afzuigkap. De starter wordt op de muur gemonteerd.
Stroom wordt aangesloten op de afzuigventilator via de
starter. Deze is uitgerust met een ingebouwde 5 Hp-
contactgever, die de ventilator aanstuurt via een stuurspanning
van 24V. Een halogeenlamppatroon in de afzuigkap kan ook
worden aangesloten op de 24V-transformator van de starter.
1.3 Opties en accessoires
De halogeenlamppatroon kan worden besteld als accessoire.
1.4 Technische specicaties
Bedoeld voor gebruik op één werkstation met één afzuiger en
één ventilator.
Voeding: 115/208/230/400/480/600V.
Transformator: 24V/30VA voor één halogeenlamppatroon
(HL-20/24). De transformator bestuurt ook de ingebouwde
contactgever.

Gebruikershandleiding
- Een ieder die aan of met het product werkt, dient van de
inhoud van deze handleiding op de hoogte te zijn en de
instructies daarin nauwgezet op te volgen. De bedrijfsleiding
dient het personeel aan de hand van de handleiding te
onderrichten en alle voorschriften en aanwijzingen in acht te
nemen.
- Wijzig nooit de volgorde van de te verrichten handelingen.
- Bewaar de handleiding steeds in de nabijheid van het
product.

Pictogrammen en instructies op het product
(indien aanwezig)
- Op het product aangebrachte pictogrammen,
waarschuwingen en instructies maken deel uit van de
getroffen veiligheidsvoorzieningen. Ze mogen niet worden
afgedekt of verwijderd en dienen gedurende de gehele
levensduur van het product aanwezig en leesbaar te zijn.
- Vervang of herstel onmiddellijk onleesbaar geworden of
beschadigde pictogrammen, waarschuwingen en instructies.
Gebruikers
Gebruik van het product is uitsluitend voorbehouden aan
daartoe opgeleide en bevoegde gebruikers. Tijdelijke
werkkrachten en personen in opleiding mogen het product
uitsluitend onder toezicht en verantwoording van vaklui
gebruiken.
Gebruik volgens bestemming1
Het product is ontworpen als besturingskast voor besturing
van een afzuigventilator. Gebruik van het product voor andere
doeleinden wordt beschouwd als gebruik dat in tegenstrijd is
met het bedoelde gebruik. De fabrikant aanvaardt geen
aansprakelijkheid voor schade of letsel als gevolg van dergelijk
gebruik. Het product is gebouwd in overeenstemming met
geavanceerde normen en erkende veiligheidsvoorschriften.
Gebruik dit product alleen wanneer het technisch in perfecte
staat is en in overeenstemming is met het bedoelde gebruik en
de aanwijzingen in de gebruikershandleiding.

worden gewijzigd.
Modicaties
Modicatievan(onderdelenvan)hetproductisniet
toegestaan, behalve de bodemplaat, die kan worden gebruikt
als invoerpunt voor externe bekabeling.
Installatie
- Installatie van het product is uitsluitend voorbehouden aan
daartoe opgeleide en bevoegde installateurs.
- Inspecteer het product en controleer het op beschadigingen.
Verieerdewerkingvandeveiligheidsvoorzieningen.
- Installeer het product nooit voor in-, uit- en doorgangen die
zijn bedoeld voor hulpdiensten.
- Zorg ervoor dat op de werkplek, in de nabijheid van het
product, voldoende goedgekeurde brandblussers aanwezig
zijn.
Gebruik
- Controleer de werkomgeving. Laat onbevoegden niet in de
werkomgeving toe.
- Bescherm het product tegen water of vocht.
- Gebruik uw gezond verstand. Blijf voortdurend opletten en
houd uw aandacht bij het werk. Gebruik het product niet als
u onder invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen.
- Zorg altijd voor voldoende ventilatie, met name in kleine
ruimten.
Service, onderhoud en reparatie
LET OP!
Onderhoud mag alleen worden uitgevoerd door
bevoegde,gekwaliceerdeengetrainde
(vakkundige) personen die gebruikmaken van de
juiste werkmethoden.
1. “Gebruik volgens bestemming” zoals vastgelegd in de EN-ISO 12100 is het
gebruik waarvoor het technisch product volgens de opgave van de fabrikant
-inclusief diens aanwijzingen in de verkoopbrochure- geschikt is. Bij twijfel is
dat het gebruik dat uit de constructie, uitvoering en functie van het product als
gebruikelijk naar voren komt. Tot het gebruik volgens bestemming behoort ook
het in acht nemen van de instructies in de gebruikershandleiding.
WAARSCHUWING
Elektrocutiegevaar
Onderbreek eerst de verbinding met het
elektriciteitsnet voordat onderhoud wordt verricht.
Anders kan dit leiden tot ernstig persoonlijk letsel of
de dood.
3 INSTALLATIE
WAARSCHUWING!
Probeer deze unit niet te installeren tenzij u
vertrouwd bent met de benodigde gereedschappen,
apparatuur, aansluitingen op nutsvoorzieningen en
potentiële gevaren. De installatie mag alleen
wordenuitgevoerddooreengekwaliceerde
installateur. Anders kan dit tot gevolg hebben dat de
unit niet goed werkt of kan dit leiden tot ernstig
persoonlijk letsel of de dood.
WAARSCHUWING!
Brandgevaar
Installeer de besturingskast nooit in gebieden met
ontvlambare gassen.
LET OP
De besturingskast SA-24 wordt geleverd zonder
kabels voor externe veldbedrading. Alle gebruikte
verbindingskabels/draadgroottes moeten in
overeenstemming zijn met de NEC-normen. De
pakkingbussen die worden gebruikt om de kabel in
de besturingskast SA-24 te steken, moeten worden
geplaatst in de bodem van de behuizing. De kabel
moet nauw aansluiten in de pakkingbus om te
voorkomen dat vocht binnendringt in de
besturingskast SA-24.
3.1 Uitpakken
Controleer of het product compleet is. De inhoud van de
verpakking bestaat uit:
- SA-24 besturingskast
- deursleutel
De starter wordt standaard compleet geleverd met dubbele
schakelconstructie, een kabel van 10 m, te monteren op de
kap, ingebouwde contactgever en een transformator. De
contactgever moet uitgerust zijn met een relevante
overbelastingsbeveiliging van de ventilatormotor (niet
inbegrepen).
3.2 Elektrische aansluiting
• Sluit de SA-24 aan in overeenstemming met het
afzonderlijk geleverde elektrische schema.
VOORZICHTIG!
Elektrische aansluiting dient te geschieden in
overeenstemming met de ter plaatse geldende
voorschriften. Zorg voor naleving van de
EMC-voorschriften.
WAARSCHUWING!
Controleer of de machine geschikt is voor
aansluiting op het plaatselijke net. Gegevens met
betrekking tot de aansluitspanning en frequentie
vindtuophetbetreffendeidenticatieplaatje.
4 ONDERHOUD
De SA-24vereistgeenspeciekonderhoud.

5 VERHELPEN VAN STORINGEN
Als de SA-24 niet (correct) werkt, neem dan contact op met
uw leverancier.

SA-24
Mit SA-24 können Ventilator und Arbeitsbeleuchtung über ein Schaltergehäuse vom
Trichter aus gesteuert werden. Die Steuereinheit wird in der Nähe des Ventilators an
der Wand montiert und mit 230/400 V/DS gespeist. Der eingebaute Schütz wird
über den Trans-formator mit einer Steuerspannung von 24 V versorgt und schaltet
Ventilator sowie Arbeitsplatzbeleuchtung.
Lieferumfang
Der Startapparat wird kompl. mit Schaltgehäuse (für Trichter), 10 m Kabel, eingebau-
tem Schütz und Transformator (24 V, 75 W) geliefert. Der erforderliche Motorschutz
sowie
die Trichterbeleuchtung müssen separat bestellt werden.

1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Identication du produit
Laplaqued’identicationestxéesurlecôtéduboîtierde
commande de l’SA-24. Elle contient, entre autre, les données
suivantes :
- nom du produit
- numéro de série
- tension d’alimentation et fréquence
1.2 Description générale
Le dispositif de mise en marche SA-24 est utilisé pour la
commande du ventilateur et de l’éclairage à partir de
l’interrupteurdelabused’extraction.Celui-ciestxéaumur,
connecté au ventilateur d’extraction et alimenté en courant
alternatif 400/230 V. Le dispositif de mise en marche est muni
d’un contacteur qui, par une tension de commande de 24 V,
met en marche et arrête le ventilateur. L’éclairage à la buse
d’extraction est relié au transformateur 24 V du dispositif de
mise en marche.
1.3 Options et accessoires
Le dispositif d’éclairage est à commander séparément.
1.4 Spécications techniques
Convient pour un poste de travail avec un ventilateur.
Alimentation du moteur : 115/208/230/400/480/600V.
Transformateu : 24V/30VA pour un dispositif d’éclairage
(HL-20/24). Le transformateur alimente en outre le contacteur
interne.

3 INSTALLATION
MISE EN GARDE!
Ne tentez pas d’installer l’unité avant d’être
parfaitement familiarisé avec les outils,
équipements, raccordements nécessaires et avec les

devrait installer l’unité. Le non respect de cette
instruction peut réduire les performances de l’unité,
provoquer des blessures graves, voire la mort.

ATTENTION
LeboîtierdecommandeSA-24 est livré sans câble
pour le câblage externe sur site. Toutes les
dimensionsdescâbles/lsutilisésdoiventêtre
conformes aux codes NEC. Les presse-étoupes
utiliséspourl’insertionducâbledansleboîtierde
commande SA-24 doivent être placés dans le fond
du logement. Le câble doit être parfaitement adapté
àlacosseand’évitertouteintroductiond’humidité
dansleboîtierdecommandeSA-24.
3.1 Déballage
Contrôlezsileproduitestcomplet.Lecontenudel’emballage
se compose des éléments suivants :

- clé de la porte
Ledispositifdemiseenmarcheestlivrécompletavecboîtier
interrupteur pour buse, 10 m de câble, contacteur interne et
transformateur. Le contacteur doit être muni d’une protection
thermique du moteur (non comprise).
3.2 Raccordement électrique
• Raccordez le SA-24 en conformité avec le schéma
électrique livré séparément.
AVERTISSEMENT!
La connexion électrique doit être effectuée en
accord avec les exigences locales. Assurez-vous de
la conformité aux dispositions des règlements CEM.
MISE EN GARDE!
Assurez-vous que la machine peut être branchée sur
le réseau local. Les données sur la tension
d’alimentationetlafréquencegurentsurlaplaque
d’identication.
4 ENTRETIEN
LeboîtierSA-24 ne nécessite aucune maintenance particulière.
5 RÉPARATION DES PANNES
En cas de non fonctionnement (ou dysfonctionnement) de
l’SA-24 veuillez contacter votre fournisseur.

SA-24
PlymoVent Startapparat SA-24 används för att manövrera fläkt och belysning via
strömbrytare vid punktutsugets tratt. Den väggmonteras i anslutning till punktutsugets
fläkt och matas med 230/400 V växelström. Startapparaten innehåller en kontaktor
som via en styrspänning på 24 V startar och stoppar fläkten. Belysningen i punktutsu-
gets tratt kopplas till startapparatens 24 V transformator.
Leverans
Startapparaten levereras komplett med strömbrytarhus för tratt, 10 m kabel, inbyggd
kontaktor och transformator. Kontaktorn ska förses med relevant motorskydd
(ingår ej). Belysningstillsats (HL 20/24) beställs separat.
