4.3.2 Primary Voltage Wiring
Ontherightsideoftheterminalblockistherstterminalblock
markedGND(greenground),hereyouwillconnectyourground
wire(properlysizedperNEC).Inthesecondterminalblock
markedL1,youwillconnectyourrstpowerwire.Inthethird
terminalblockmarkedL2,youwillconnectyoursecondpower
wire.Forthefourthterminalblock(whenapplicable),marked
L3,youwillconnectyourthirdpowerwire.
NOTE: Thelinesupplyvoltagefromyourbuilding,whichwill
supplyyourmotor,shallbeconnecteddirectlytoL1,L2for
singlephaseandL1,L2,andL3for3-phase.Re-checkthatrated
voltagecorrespondswithsupplyvoltagetoavoiddamageto
electricalcomponentsorcontrolwiring.

4.3.3 Field Power Wiring of Control Box, Safety
Disconnect and Fan Motor
Theprimarywiringoftheelectricalsystemmustberatedforthe
maximumampsandHPratingofthefanmotorloadaswellas
thewiringvoltagedrop,whichiscalculatedforthedistance,you
arerunning.SeePlymoventWiringChartinthebackofthis
manualasaguideforwiring.Itiscriticaltoalwaysfollowlocal
coderequirementsforselectingwireininstanceswherethey
differfromPlymoventpublishedrecommendations.
NOTE: Fieldwiring,powersupplypanelandelectricalsafety
disconnectareprovidedbyothers.Plymoventassumesno
liability for any electrical installation and all national and local
codesandstandardsshouldbefollowed.
4.4 Primary Wiring Procedures (Control Wiring)
4.4.1 Control Voltage Wiring
Theterminalblocks0,24Vand1through8areusedforlow
voltagecontrolwiringofoptionalwirelesscontrolsystem,
remotemountedpressureswitchforstartingfunctions,clean
lterindicatorandtemperatureswitch.Anoptionalremotealarm
relayconnectionisavailableforconnectiontoBuilding
AutomationSystems(BAS).
4.4.2 Pressure Switch / Temperature Switch (engine
start/stop)
Thepressureswitchandoptionaltemperatureswitch,whichis
soldseparately,willbewiredtoterminalblock1and2.Ifmore
thanonepressure/temperatureswitchisutilizedinasystem
theymustbewiredinparalleltoachieveproperoperation.
NOTE: Controlwiressupplyingterminalblock1and2mustbea
minimumof16AWG/1.29mm²,smallerwiresizingwillresultin
improper system operation.
Amomentarymanualpushbuttonstartswitchcanalsobe
placedinparallelinthiscircuitforremotestartingofthesystem.
4.4.3 Remote Alarm (optional)
Terminals 3, 4, and 5 are a relay dry contact connection for a
BuildingAutomationSystem(BAS).Terminalblock3provides
thecommonconnection,terminal4providesanormallyclosed
contact connection and terminal 5 provides a normally open
contact connection.
NOTE: Relay output is a dry contact potential free and will
requireadditionalcontrolequipmentdependingonitsuse.
4.4.4 Pressure Switch (lter alarm)
Anexhaustventilationparticulatelter(suchasthePlymovent
MultiSmokeFilter)maybeprovidedwithanadjustablepressure
indicatorswitch,whichmonitorstheltersusefullife.Terminals
6and7(potentialfree)areutilizedtoconnectandoperatethe
pressureindicatorswitch.Whenthelterbecomesdirty,the
pressureswitchwillsendasignaltothecontrolboxandin-turn
willashtheFanOnLEDindicatorlight,locatedonthefaceof
theOS-3controlpanel,whenthefanmotorisrunning.
Indicatingalterchangeisrequired.
4.5 Transformer Wiring Procedure
4.5.1 Multi-tap Control Transformer
DesignedbyPlymoventtoallowtheeldelectriciantheabilityto
selecttheprimaryvoltageofhischoice.Thisvoltageselection
rangesfrom120voltthrough600voltVAC.Thetransformerhas
beendesignedtooperateinboth50and60Hzenvironments.
NOTE: Primarylinevoltagemustnotbegreaterorlessthan8
%ofratedvoltagelistedonvoltagetap.Forexample,Tap120
volt(110–130voltagevariantacceptable)forlowlinevoltage,
abuckboosttransformermayberequired.(Suppliedbyothers).
4.5.2 Primary Voltage Connection
Onthetoprightsideoftransformeryouwillndaterminalblock
with8pointsofconnection.Commonblackwireisconnectedto
thetopterminalblock(blacktoyellowwire)andwillalways
remaininthispositionregardlessofthevoltageadjustmentthat
youwillbemaking.Thevoltageadjustinggraywireispresetfor
thevoltageordered.Youmayberequiredtorepositionthe
voltageadjustingwiretothelinesupplyvoltagepresentatyour
installation/facility.Forexample,adjustingto120voltline
voltage,movethevoltageadjustingwiretowiretapsecondfrom
thetopofterminalblock(blacktowhite).Viewyellowlabelfor
correctwiretapcolorforeachavailablevoltage.
NOTE: Improperwiringwillresultindamageofotherelectrical
components.Re-checkthatratedvoltagecorrespondswith
supplyvoltagetoavoiddamagetoelectricalcomponents.
