8. Operation Standard Mode
8.1 Preparation
1) Wear a lead apron for x-ray exposures.
2) Leave at least 2 meters away from the unit or use extended hand switch cable in order to
keep safe distance.
3) Apply proper beam size and technical values to produce the best radiographic results while
minimizing exposure dose.
4) Be careful about the decimal point on the mAs display in order to acquire intended mAs
values.
5) For the indoor radiography for the patient in the bed, ask visitors to leave the room for a
while and keep safe distance from the patient.
6) Pay attention to proper management of the equipment and careful maintenance.
7) Cumulative radiation dose should not exceed the recommended amount. Ask the guide and
advice of experts for the requirement of additional protective devices at frequent use of high
kV and mAs.
WARNING
Please check if the voltage and current of the power supply observe the
specifications written on the system labels, attached to backside of machine
body. The levels of voltage should move within ±10% of the standard values.
CAUTION
Please check up all the line connections before the operation and x-ray
exposures of machine.
8.2 Collimator Check-up
A. Place the loaded cassette on the patient’s backside.
B. Arrange the SID (Focal Spot to Image Receptor Distance) with measuring tape.
C. Light on the collimator lamp and laser pointer with “lamp on/Store” switch.
D. Arrange the beam size according to the scale of x-ray film with the collimator knob.
E. Collimator and laser pointer are turned off automatically by a timer.

8.3 Preheat
1) Overview
All portable x-ray units require preheat procedure to protect the x-ray tube from an instant surge
of current and to secure long and safe operation of the system. Preheat of x-ray tube is required
under following situation.
A. Initial use or installation.
B. Non-use of the equipment over 1 month at low temperature
C. Temperature of x-ray tube is below 0 (32℃℉). (Cold tube)
2) Method to Preheat
Following preheat procedure is recommended.
A. Install the equipment at a safe place for radiation.
B. In case outdoor temperature is below 0 (32 ), m℃℉ove the equipment indoor and warm it up.
C. In order to preheat filament of x-ray tube, exposure x-rays in 15 second time intervals.
First:3 exposures serially at low value ( 50 kV, 0.4 mAs)
Second: 3 exposures serially at high kV ( 60 kV, 1.2 mAs)
Third: 3 exposures serially at max. kV ( 80 kV, 2.0 mAs)
CAUTION
During X-ray exposure, the equipment makes a beep.
After X-ray exposure, on ‘Wait’ mode, you are not supposed to push ‘Exposure’
button..

10. Remote Control Function & Operation
10.1 Introduction
Medical practitioners arrange kV, mAs setting and APR functions by pushing down buttons on the
display panel most of the time. Selection of each function and mode follows anatomical or
radiological guidelines. Collimator lamp and laser pointer are lighted on by ‘Lamp on/Store button’
and lighted off automatically by a timer.
Many users in the field have asked to study more efficient ways to arrange technical settings of kV,
mAs, APR selection and x-ray exposures. Traditional method of operation had high possibility of
fumbling the equipment or hand switch on the ground during adjustment of technical parameters
on the panel.
Therefore, our R&D staffs have renovated our programmed software and x-ray ready operation
that all technical parameters, collimator lamp and laser pointer can be adjusted by hand switch
controls.
Hand switch remote controller is composed of two stages. The first stage of hand switch is ready
and the second stage of hand switch is exposure.
Every function of Remote control is, as explained above, operated by pushing Hand switch in
‘Prep Mode’. Each Remote Control function and exposure value selection is as below.
