1 Safety Precautions
Be sure to operate carefully, ensure the safety of users and others
Don’t touch the muffler because it is hot when the generator is running or just
stopped. Put the generator indoor after it cools down.
The Exhaust system is hot when the generator is running or just stopped. Please
notice the warning labels to prevent burns.
If users operate the PRAMAC generator as the Operating Manual shows, it would
provide safe and reliable operation according to design requirements. Please read and
understand this book before operating the engine, otherwise it may cause injury to
personnel or damage to equipment.
Under certain conditions, gasoline is flammable. Be sure to refuel in ventilated
places and switch off the engine before refueling.
Do not refuel with engine still hot
Stay away from cigarettes and sparks when it is refueled. Please refuel in ventilated
places.
Wipe spilled gasoline immediately.
Restrict the use in high fire risk locations.
As the backup power of the building, connecting the generator to the power system
should be operated by a qualified electrician. It should follow relevant laws and electrical
codes. Otherwise, the electric current of the generator may feedback to the common
circuit, power company workers or other people may be electrocuted when they touch the
wire; because of the city power shock, the generator may explode, fire or cause fire of
other electrical equipment in the building.

2
Make pre-operation inspection before starting the engine each time, in order to avoid
accidents or damage to the equipment.
Run the generator at least 1 meter away from the building and other equipment.
Be sure to run the generator in the horizontal plane ON GROUND level, fuel may
spill if the generator is slant.
Be sure to learn how to quickly turn off the generator, and known the operation of
relevant parts. Never allow anyone to operate the engine without proper instruction.

SMART Fuel-economy Switch
When the generator is disconnected with the electrical equipment, generator is idling; when it
is connected with the electrical equipment, the engine will restore to the appropriate
speed. The default state of the switch is at ON position, the fuel consumption is automatically
adjusted according to the load size, to serve the purpose of saving fuel.
OFF: Represents that the SMART switch is turn off, and the engine is at its higher speed.
The SMART system can not run effectively when large instantaneous current is
required by the electrical equipment.
Please turn off the SMART switch to reduce the voltage change when the generator
and high electrical load are connected at the same time.
Please turn off the SMART switch when it is operated in DC status.

5
3.Pre-operation Checking
Be sure that the generator is in the horizontal plane at ground level, and the engine is shut
down.
3.1Check the engine oil level
Please see SAE viscosity level in following picture:
Remove the dipstick on right rear , wipe the dipstick with a clean rag, insert the oil dipstick into
the filler opening, tighten and spin out to check the oil level. If the oil level is lower than the
bottom of the dipstick, fill recommended oil to the filler opening.
Oil capacity:520ml.
See Figure 3.
Conventional filled-up engine oil level (About 520 ml)
Figure 3. Oil Level Diagram
Use engine oil without detergent or 2-stroke engine oil may shorten engine life.
Please use strong-cleaning power, high-quality 4-stroke engine oil.
Choose engine oil with right viscosity, which is suitable for the average temperature
in your region.

6
3.2 Check the fuel level
Please use motor gasoline type (better use lead-free or low-lead gasoline to reduce fuel
chamber coke). If the fuel level is low, please fill fuel to the shoulder of the fuel strainer. See
figure 4
Do not use mixture of oil and gasoline, or dirty gasoline.
Prevent dirt and water into the tank.
Tighten the fuel filler cap after filling up.
Fuel capacity:10L
Figure 4. Fuel level diagram
Start the engine without enough engine oil may cause serious damage to the
engine.
Engine oil alarm system will shut down the engine before the oil level falls under the
safety margin. We suggest you to check the engine oil level regularly to avoid any
inconvenience caus
ed by unplanned downtime.

7
Alcoholic petrol
If you decide to use Alcoholic petrol, the Octane value should not be lower than recommended
by PRAMAC. There are two kind of Alcoholic petrol, one contains ethanol and the other
contains methanol. Do not use alcoholic petrol with over 10% ethanol. Do not use methanol
petrol without co-solvents and preservatives in the methanol. If there is co-solvents and
preservatives in the methanol, do not use the petrol with over 5% methanol.
3.3 Check the air filter
Check the air filter to ensure it is clean and in normal performance.
Open the service door on the left side, open the air filter cover and take out the foam filter from
the cover. If necessary, clean or replace the filter. See figure 5.
Under certain conditions, gasoline is flammable.
Please refuel in ventilated places, with the engine off. No smoke and fire in the
fueling region and gasoline storage area.
Fuel shall not overflow out of tank (on fuel on the fill opening). Tighten the fuel
filler cap after filling up.
Do not overflow the fuel because the fuel or mist may catch fire. Once the fuel is
overflowed, ensure the region is dried before running the engine.
Avoid long-time, repeated skin contact or gas inhalation, do not allow children to
contact the fuel.
Avoid in any case to fill the tank with engine still hot.
The fuel system or engine damage caused by using alcoholic petrol will not be
covered under warranty. PRAMAC does not guarantee the use of fuel with methanol
because the applicability has not been confirmed.
Please figure out whether the fuel contains alcohol before buying fuel in unfamiliar
gas station. When you use fuel with alcohol or you think that with alcohol, if the
generator is not running as expected, please change to use fuel without alcohol.

8
Figure 5. Air filter structure
It is not allowed to start the engine without air filter, otherwise the dirt will enter the
engine through carburetor, which could result in rapid wear of the engine.

9
4 Start the engine
4.1 Open the fuel valve, see figure 6.
Figure 6. Fuel valve knob in the state of open.
4.2 Pull the choke lever.
Do not use choke when the engine is hot or the temperature is high. See figure 7.

10
Figure 9 Pulling the starter handle.
4.4 Push back the choke lever when the engine is warm.
See figure 10.
Figure 10 The choke lever in RUN mode.
Operating at high altitudes
At high altitudes, standard carburetor has strong mixture of air and fuel, engine running
performance reduces, and fuel consumption increases. In order to change engine running
performance, you can change the aperture of the main nozzle of carburetor, adjust the idle
screw. If the generator is always used at altitude over 1500m, please ask authorized agent
of PRAMAC to adjust these changes for you.
The horsepower will decrease each 3.5% with each 305m increase. The impact of altitude on
power is bigger without these adjustment.
If the nozzle is designed for high altitudes, while running in low altitudes, it could
cause low output power, overheat or even serious damage to the engine because of the
low fuel ratio.
Do not let the starter handle bounce back, take the handle back slowly by hand.
Do not let the handle rub the generator, otherwise the handle will have premature
wear.
■
Do not pull the starter handle when the machine is running.

11
5. Use of generator
5.1 Use of AC
