IMPORTANTINSTRUCTIONS
Whenusingelectrical appliances, basicprecautions
should alwaysbefollowedtoreducethe risk of fire,
electricshock,andinjuryto persons,includingthe
following:
1.Read all instructionsbeforeusing thisheater.
2.Thisapplianceishot whenin use.Toavoid
burns,do not comeincontactwith heater. Keep
combustible materials, suchasfurniture,
pillows, bedding,papers, clothes,and curtains
at least 3feet(1m.)fromthefrontoftheheater.
3.Extremecaution is necessarywhenanyheater
isusedbyornearchildrenor invalidsandwhen-
everthe heaterisleft operatingand unattended.
4.Alwaysunplugheaterwhennot inuse.
5.Donotoperateanyheater with a damaged cord
orplugorafterthe heatermalfunctions, has
been dropped ordamaged in anymanner.
6.Anyrepairsto thisapplianceshould be carried
outbyaqualified service person.
7.Under no circumstances shouldthiselectric fire-
placebemodified. Partshavingto beremoved
for servicingmustbereplacedpriortooperat-
ingthiselectricfireplaceagain.
8.Do notuseoutdoors.
9.This heaterisnotintendedfor useinbathrooms,
laundryareasorsimilarindoor locations. Never
usethisappliance nearabathtub orotherwa-
tercontainer.
10.Do notrun cordundercarpeting.Do notcover
cordwiththrowrugs, runners orsimilar
coverings.Arrangecordawayfrom trafficareas
and whereitwill notbe tripped over.
11.Todisconnect heater,turncontrols toOFF,then
removeplug fromoutlet.
12.Connecttoproperlygrounded outlets only.
13.Whenthisapplianceisinstalled,it mustbeelectri-
callygrounded inaccordance withlocalcodes with
thecurrentCSAC22.1 Canadianlocalcodesfor
USAinstallations. FollowlocalcodesandNational
Electrical Code,ANSI/NFPANO.70 and Canadian
Cord: CZ22.2NO.0.
14. Do notinsertorallowforeign objectstoenter any
ventilation orexhaust openingasthismaycause
electric shock, fireordamage tothe heater.
15.Topreventapossible fire,donotblockairintakes
orexhaust in anymanner. Do notuseon soft
surfaces,suchasabed,whereopeningsmay
becomeblocked.
16.Thisheatergetshot anditcontainsinternalparts
that sparksandarcs.Donotuseit in areas where
gasoline,paint, orflammableliquidsareused or
stored.
17.Use thisheateronlyasdescribed in thismanual.

ELECTRICALCONNECTION
A15AMP,120 Volt,60Hzcircuitwithaproperlygrounded outlet
isrequired.Preferably,thefireplacewillbeonadedicated
circuit.Otherappliancesonthesamecircuitmaycausethe
circuit breaker totripor thefusetoblowwhen the heater is on
operation. Theunitcomesstandardwith a6’(1828mm)long
three wirecordexiting fromthe rearofthe fireplace.Plan the
installation toavoidthe useofan extensioncord. If anextention
cordmust be used,itmust beaminumum14 AWGthreewire
withgroundingtypeplugconnectorand rated nolessthan
1900Watts.Thecordshallnot bemorethan20feetinlength.

REPLACINGLIGHT BULBS
Thisfireplaceuses fourclear120Volt,60Watt,E-
12 socketbaselightbulbs(small base,chandelier
candletype).The60 Wattbulbsarelocatedunder
the log set/ember bed.For convenience,if one of
the bulbsburnsout, it may be agood idea tore-
placeall ofthe lightbulbs.
1.Turnoff powertotheunit byunplugging the power cord.
2.Let fireplacecoolifithasbeenoperating.
3.Removethe twoscrewson the top cornerofscreen.Pull
thescreen upwardslightly,andthenpullout.
4.Removethe fourscrewsthatsecurethelogset/em-
berbed in position.
5. Removelogset/emberbedandgrateassembly.
6.Examine the bulb(s)todetermine which bulbsneed
tobe replaced.
7.While holding the socket,unscrewdefective bulb(s)
counterclockwise.
8.Install the newlightbulb(s) byholding the socket and
screwing clockwise.
9.Reinstallthelogset/emberbed,grateassemblyand
screen.Followthe aboveprocedurein reverseorder.

LOCATING YOUR ELECTRIC FIREPLACE
Yournewfreestanding electric fireplacemaybe installed vir-
tuallyanywherein yourhome.Howeverwhen choosinga
location foryournewelectricfireplace,ensurethat thegen-
eral instructionsarefollowed.Forbest effect results, install
theelectric fireplaceoutofdirect sunlight.

MAINTENANCE OFMOTORS
Themotors usedonthefan andflamegenera-
torassemblyare prelubricated for extended
bearinglifeandrequireno further lubrication.
However,periodiccleaning/vacuumingofthe
fan/heater unitisrecommended.

poweristurnedoffbefore
proceeding.

1.Underno circumstancesshouldthisproduct be
operatedwithmissingorbrokenglass.
2.Donotstrikeorslamthe glass.
3.Do notuseabrasive cleanerstoclean the glass.
4.Replacementglass isavailablefromthe manu-
facturerandreplacementshouldbe carried out
by aqualified serviceperson.

Anyelectrical repairs orrewiringofthisunit shouldbecarriedout byalicensedelectricianinaccordance
withnationalandlocal codes.
Ifrepairingorreplacing anyelectricalcomponentorwiring,theoriginal wire
routing, colorcoding andsecuring locationmustbefollowed.

Operating Instructions
Beforeprogramming yourtransmitteryou must
firstinsertthreetriple “AAA”batteries.
Makesurethe main poweron/off swithis in “ON”
position.
1.TheModesetting:
Pressthe “SET”button, thenthe “AUTO”light
willflash. Pressthe “SET”buttonagain,and
then the “MANUAL”light will alsoflash.The
“AUTO”lightand the “MANUAL”lightwill flash
alternatelyand continuously.Nextpress “EN-
TER”button toselect the automode ormanual
mode.
a.When selecting “AUTO”mode:
Select “AUTO”and press the “ENTER”button
toactivate ,then pressthe “SET”button, next
the ‘Temperature’, ‘Flame’, ‘Light’, ’lamp’sym-
bols willflashalternately.Nextpressthe
button orthe button toselect the desired
temperaturesetting.When the temperature
setting hasbeenselected,press the “SET”
buttontolockin the temperaturesetting,next
set thefollowingfunctionsthat appearonthe
transmitter. When the last functionsetting has
beencompleted,press the “ENTER”button,
andthesymbolswillstopflashing.
b.Whenselecting “MANUAL”mode:
Select “MANUAL”andpress the “ENTER”but-
tontoconfirm, then press the “SET”button,
the ‘Flame’, ‘Light’, ‘lamp’, ‘Heating level’sym-
bols willflashalternately. The nextsymbol will
flash automaticallysetthe functionsasthey
appear. When the lastfunction setting has
beencompleted,press the “ENTER”button,
andthesymbolswillstopflashing.

6.Flame Effectsetting:
(1)Flamespeed
After selecting MANUALmodeorAUTO mode,the
flamesymbolwillflash, forslowflameeffect,press
button,forfaster flameeffect,press button.
(2)Flamebrightness
Press “SET”button,when the lampsymbol flashes,
press buttontodecreasetheflamebrightness
and buttontoincreasethe flamebrightness.
7.ForFlameEffectonly:
Select MANUAL mode,thensetthe Heatinglevelto
no heating level or selectAUTOmode and then set
temperaturetolowest setting.
8.Manual ON/OFF button
Ifyoucan’tfind your Remote Control orthe Remote
Controlis damaged,you can usemanualON/OFF
buttonto manualturnon/turnoffyourheater.
2.TheClock setting:
Pressthe “CLOCK”button, thefigureshownonclockwill
flash. Press or tosetthehour.Afterthehourhas
beenset,pressthe “CLOCK”buttonagainto setthe
minutes.Aftertheminuteshasbeenset,pressthe “CLOCK”
button,the clockwill indicatetheset time.
3.TheTimer setting:
Pressthe “TIMER”button,the word “TIMER”will appearon
the transmitter, nextpress or toadjustthe time,to
add30minutes incrementspress thebuttonagain. After
thetimerhasbeenset,press “TIMER”buttonagain, the
word “TIMER”will flash and the timerwill returntotime.
4.Key-Press Lock setting (childproof):
Tolock,press the “LOCK”button,therewillbea symbol,
whichmeansthat the transmitter isinalock position.To
unlock, press onceimmediatelyfollowed bypressing
the “LOCK”button .
5.Heating Levelsetting
Select the MANUAL model and press SETtochossethe
heating level setting,the “ “ symbol will flash.Then
press or toselect full,half orno heating.
