EN 61010-2-032
CAT III 600V
Pollution Degree 2
Definition of Symbol :
Caution : Refer to accompanying document
Caution : Ri k of electric hock
In trument i protected by double in ulation
Do not apply around or remove from HAZARDOUS LIVE conductor .
Over-voltage Category I (CAT I)
Equipment for connection to circuits in which measures are taken to limit the transient
over-voltages to an appropriate low level.
Over-voltage Category II (CAT II)
Energy-consuming equipment to be supplied from the fixed installation.
Over-voltage Category III (CAT III)
Equipment in fixed installations.
WARNING : If the flexible current probe is used in a manner not specified by the
manufacturer, the protection provided by the flexible current probe may be impaired.
1

1. WARNING
Do not u e the flexible current probe before you read the following in truction .
1 Do not install the flexible current probe around bare conductors carrying a voltage
from 30V to 600V unless you are wearing protective clothing and gloves suitable for
high-voltage work.
2 Always inspect and check any damage of the current probe assembly before usage.
Do not use the flexible current probe if any damage is found.
3 Do not use the flexible current probe on circuit rated higher than 600V in installation
Category III.

3. OPERATING INSTRUCTION
4

1. Connect the banana plugs to the measuring instrument. Select the corresponding
sensitivity on your instrument. Select AC range if a multimeter is used.
2. On the flexible current probe, select the desired range (30A, 300A or 3000A and
output (300mV or 1V .
3. Connect the flexible probe around the conductor.
4. Make sure the current flowing direction is in consistent with the arrow marked on the
probe coupling. If the flexible current probe is connected in the right orientation, the
correct phase will be displayed on the oscilloscope.
5. Keep the probe coupling more than 25mm away from the conductor.
WARNING : Alway wear appropriate glove in operation.
WARNING : Do not select AC + DC range for measurement. Select AC range.
If a RMS multimeter is used, the AC current value can be calculated from the AC voltage
reading.
5

Example 1 : Current range 300A and output 300mV.
The AC voltage reading is 100mV
The actual AC current= 300A / 300mV * 100mV = 100A
6

Example 2 : Current range 3000A and output 300mV.
The AC voltage reading is100mV
The actual AC current = 3000A / 300mV * 100.0mV = 1000A
7

Example 3 : Current range 300A and output 1V.
The AC voltage reading is 333.3mV.
The AC actual AC current = 300A/V * 333.3mV = 100A
8

Example 4 : Current range 3000A and output 1V.
The AC voltage reading is 333.3mV
The actual AC current = 3000A/1V * 333.3mV = 1000A
