About This Manual
This manual introduces primary functions of the configuration management software for RC series
products.
Who Should Read This Manual
Sales and marketing engineers, after service staff and telecommunication network design engineers
could use this manual as a valuable reference. If you want to get an overview on features,

Chapter 1 ISCOM 1024E Overview
ISCOM 1024E is an Ethernet switch with VLAN and QOS. It can provide 24X10/100Mbps RJ45 interfaces and support
Local craft terminal management through Console, Port-Based VLAN and 802.1q VLAN, Port-Based QOS, Tag-Based
QOS and TOS-Based QOS, support abundant port managed and loop back detection function.
ISCOM 1024E is a good choice for residents and enterprise sites.

Chapter 4 configuration and management
4.1 Manual overview
[1] Overview
zConfigure work mode for port
zConfigure receive and send bandwidth
zQOS
zConfigure PORT VLAN or TAG VLAN
zAdvanced function :Age, Fast-Age, Filter broadcast packets, IGMP, loopback detection, port mirror, 6 trunk groups
zSystem configuration: reset the whole device, get back default value, change password, set MAC address.
[2]Management
zISCOM 1024E supports console management.
Local control management
Ethernet switch can be managed via VT100 terminal or computer workstation through CONSLE cable.
ISCOM1024switch provides a RJ45 pattern RS232C port as console port, with the accessory cable, user can connect the
switch to the PC series port for configuration and management. This method is suitable for the followings:
zUnstable network
zThere is no network connect for network managed program
znetwork managed program do not support SNMP
ISCOM 1024E default setting as [bits per second: 9600, data bits: 8, Parity: 0, stop bits: 1, flow control: None],
VT100 type terminal.
Log on ISCOM 1024E
Default password is 1234.
4.2 Configure ISCOM1024E through console
ISCOM1024switch provides a RJ45 pattern RS232C port as console port, user can configure device through menu.
4.2.1 Log on
Input “1234” at first time. Then management screen will available.
P.S: the command is only available for lowercase. Press ”ESC” to return main manual

Select the item through numeric key on this interface.
4.2.2 PORT SETUP
Select “1” to enter the screen as following in the main manual.
1. Modify setting
Press “m” to modify the setting including：Admin(e：open，d：close)、Auto(e：auto negotiation，d：non auto
negotiation)、speed (1：100M，0：10M)、Duplex(f：full，h：half)、flow-C(e：enable flow control，d：disable
flow control). Received bandwidth (1~7: select bandwidth, d: forbid bandwidth)、send bandwidth (1~7: select
bandwidth, d: forbid bandwidth).
For example: enable port 1, 100M/FULL flow control, no bandwidth control

2. After modification, Press “q” to quit and return main manual, press “y” to save, press “n” not to save.
Note: when the auto negotiation is enabled, state of local port is associate with connected port, speed and duplex are
invalid.
Select the target port, after the configuration is finished, for Save&Update? (Y/N), configuration will take effect if you
press “y”, and port will auto negotiate.
4.2.3 Port-based VLAN Setting
P.S: when Port VLAN group is created, 802.1Q VLAN group must be removed firstly.
Select “2” to access Port VLAN setting interface.
Select “1”: Set IPTV VLAN (note: this is for port, it is not allowed to communicate with each other, but they can
access other device through uplink port, this method is suitable for residents). System will ask user to assign uplink port.
System will create 24 VLAN groups, which are isolated with each other. Uplink port is ‘tag’, and the tag value can be set.
IPTV VLAN is set as follows:

Select ‘2’: set Uplink Based-Port VLAN
Select ‘3’: system will ask user to set VLAN port manually
Select ‘4’: delete all the VLAN
Note: IPTV VLAN will disappear if you set other Port VLAN
4.2.4 Set 802.1q VLAN
Note: Port VLAN should be deleted before you create 802.1Q VLAN
Select ‘3’ then enter 802.1q VLAN menu.
Select ‘1’ to create VLAN, ISCOM1024E can only support 0～31 VLAN area and 1～4094 VLAN ID. Note: VLAN
area ID can not be same.
Input ‘m’continually, then enter 802.1q VLAN menu.
Note: Input the VLAN ID(1-4094)? Input 100, it indicates VLAN ID is 100.
Note: Please add membership port(1-24,q)? input 1, it indicates port 1 belongs this VLAN
Input ‘q’, then select ‘y’to save or select ‘n’to give uo

Select ‘2’to modify VLAN area, input ‘m’to modify the menu of VLAN area,
Select GroupNO: ‘0’(ISCOM 1024E can only support 0~31 VLAN groups. Such as for the first VLAN, ID is 0).
Select add or remove port, then select port ID, enter ‘q’ to save.
For example: add port 5 to VLAN 100
Select ‘3’to delete VLAN
All the VLANs will be displayed, there are 2 VLANs in this picture, ‘0’and ‘1’
Enter ‘m’to enter delete VLAN menu, then select GroupNO, we delete VLAN ‘0’then press ‘enter’.
VLAN 100 will not be displayed in the menu.
Enter ‘q’to quit or select ‘y’to save.

Select ‘4’to set tag port and PVID
Note: when the VLAN area is created, PVID will be the same as VAN ID, it is suggest that user keep the default value.
User can select ‘tag’or ‘untag’according to the requirement.
Set port 1 to TAG
Select ‘y’to save
It is displayed that ‘U’ has been changed to ’T’for port 1
4.2.5 Set QOS
Select ‘4. Qos Setup’in main menu, you can set port based priority, IEEE802.1P and TOS/DeffServ.

Select ‘1’to set flow scale
Select ‘2’to set priority for each port
Select ‘3’set IEEE802.1P service
Select ‘4’set TOS/DeffServ based priority
Select ‘5’back to previous menu
Note: priority for QOS is COS, QOS and port.
4.2.6 Advanced configuration
Select ‘5. Advanced Setup’in main menu to set advanced configuration.
Select ‘1’set Age, Fast Age and broadcast filtering
Select ‘2’enable loopback detection function (it will need 3 minute from loopback start to it is be displayed by Console)
Select ‘3’ set IGMP Snooping
Select ‘4’TRUNKING
Note: ISCOM1024E support 6 port aggregations, you must reboot switch if you add or reduce group. Port aggregations
function is calculated base on source and destination MAC address. When a using port is failure, the traffic will average
to other port.
Select ‘5’port mirror
Note: the first line is used to define mirrored port. You can define more than one mirrored port, but received data is same
and you can not match mirrored port and targeted port.

Note: enable Broadcast storm filtering, port will stop receiving when the first 64 packets have been received, but it will
receive packet again after 800s.
Age time is less than 300s, fast age time is 12s.
4.2.6.1 Loopback detection
Select ‘2’in advanced menu to enter loopback detection as follows:
e: enable Loopback detection.
d: disable loopback detection.
r: refresh
q: quit from the menu
Note: it need some time to detect loop, you need to refresh the result for the exact result.
For example: there is loop on 12 and 22 port, it will display as follows:

4.2.6.2 Link aggregation
Select ‘4’in advanced menu to set link aggregation. ISCOM1024E Support 6 trunk groups,There can be 4 ports in each
trunk group.
For example: enable trunk 1, disable trunk 2~6
e: enable trunk
d: disable trunk
4.2.6.3 Mirror
Select port no?(1-24,q)1 select a port as mirror port
Enable/Disble Port Mirror(e/d)? e enable or disable the port as a mirror port
Select port no?(1-24,q) press ‘q’ if you do not select mirror port
RX Miror Port (1-24,q)4 select the port which is mirrored
Enable/Disble RX Mirror(e/d)? e whether permit the port to be mirrored
RX Miror Port (1-24,q) press ‘q’to quit if you do not want to select other ports
