RML-1100 Scissor Jack QSG 2 of 2 P/N 5900012 — Rev. B — Feb. 2020
Refer to the drawing on the previous page as you install the Scissor Jack.
Before using the Jack, check the unit to make sure all parts are in place and working normally. If not, take the
Scissor Jack out of service, then contact your distributor or Ranger Products at (800) 253-2363.
To install the RML-1100 Low-Profile Scissor Jack and raise a Vehicle:
1. Open the box and remove the contents.
2. Position the Base on a solid, clean surface capable of supporting the weight.
3. Move the Vehicle into position over the Jack.
4. Make sure only the Operator of the Jack is within 30 feet of it when it is in use.
5. Check clearances on all four sides and above.
6. Make sure the Base is stable and under the manufacturer’s recommended Lifting Points.
7. If desired, put one or both of the Saddle Pads into position. Tighten the Wing Nuts, if desired, to hold one
or both of the Saddle Pads in one spot.
8. Use the Handle to raise the Platform until the Saddle Pads or the center of the Platform are just under, but
not yet touching, the Vehicle’s Lifting Points.
9. Make sure the Saddle Pads or the center of the Platform are directly under the Lifting Points.
10. Turn the Handle to raise the Platform until the Vehicle is a few inches off the ground, then stop.
11. Make sure the Vehicle is stable and the Saddle Pads or the Platform have good contact with the Vehicle’s
Lifting Points.
If the Vehicle is not stable or does not have good contact with the Lifting Points, lower the Jack back down
to the ground and start again.
12. Raise the Vehicle to the desired height.
Important: Do not leave the area while a Vehicle is on the Scissor Jack. Lower the Vehicle back down to the
ground if you have to leave the area.
13. If desired, support the Vehicle using one or more jack stands.
14. Begin the service or repairs.
To lower a vehicle:
1. Check under the Vehicle and the Jack to make sure the area is clear. If it is not, clear it.
2. Turn the Handle to lower the Vehicle.
3. When the weight of the Vehicle is fully off the Saddle Pads or Platform, move the Scissor Jack out from
under the Vehicle.

•When not in use, keep the Jack fully lowered and stored in a dry, cool location.
•Always keep the Jack clean; wipe up any oil, grease, water, or dirt after each use.
•Lubricate moving parts on a regular basis; the more you use the Jack, the more often you lubricate it.
