General information
This section describes the retrofitting for unit sizes 2-XS and 2-S. The retrofit-
ting for unit sizes L and XL can be found in the next section.
The illustrations in this manual are examples only and may differ from the unit.
NOTICE
Removal and Installation Thermocouple B201 or B211
Note that different retrofitting instructions are required for the removal and
installation of the thermocouple B201 or B211.

Required component
All or only individual thermocouples can be installed.

Individual thermocouple 87.00.339
Required tool
A torque wrench with a torque of 4 Nm is required for the installation of the
thermocouples. Use the manufacturer's torque wrench (article no.: W24001).
Removing the pan cover
aThe unit is switched on.
1. Raise the pan electrically.
2. Turn off the unit.
3. Switch off the power supply to the unit.
4. Remove the 5 screws on the bottom of the pan cover (1).

5. Remove the pan cover (2).

>> The pan cover has been removed.
Opening the control panel
DANGER
High voltages when connecting to the mains power
Danger to life due to high voltage.
nDisconnect from the power supply.
nMake sure the unit is disconnected from the power.
CAUTION
Sharp edges on the housing
Risk of cuts on the housing when working in the electrical compartment.
Wear protective gloves.
WARNING
The unit is falling from the installation surface
Risk of crushing and injury from tipping or turning of the unit.
nDo not tip the unit onto the installation surface.
nWhen turning the unit, make sure that the weight of the unit is evenly
distributed and that the unit is completely on the installation surface.
aThe unit is disconnected from the power.
1. Open the cover on the console panel and remove the 2 screws (1).

2. Remove the control panel. Place some protection on the pan lid to protect
the control panel against scratching and damage, e.g. a cardboard box or
bubble wrap (2).

Removing thermocouples
aThe pan is raised.
aThe bottom of the pan cover has been removed.
1. Perform the following steps for the appropriate thermocouple. To remove
the complete thermocouple wiring harness, perform the following steps on
all heating elements:
2. Loosen the 2 nuts of the retaining spring with a socket wrench (size 8 mm).
Remove the retaining spring and unhook the thermocouple.
3. Unplug the thermocouple from the I/O board.
4. Disconnect the thermocouple cable from the harness or leave it disconnec-
ted in the unit.
>> The thermocouples have been removed.
Installing thermocouples
A torque wrench (4 Nm) is ready for use.

aThe pan is raised.
aThe bottom of the pan cover has been removed.
1. Perform the following steps for the appropriate thermocouple.
2. Connect the cable to the I/O board.
3. Guide the cable through the pan axis.
4. Hang the thermocouple in the retaining spring.
5. Tighten the 2 nuts of the retaining spring with a torque of 4 Nm.
6. Fasten the cable together with the other cables with a temperature-resist-
ant cable tie.
>> The thermocouples have been installed.
Closing the control panel
1. Proceed in reverse order to the step
Opening the control panel .
Mounting the pan cover
1. Proceed in reverse order to the step
Removing the pan cover.
NOTICE
Allocation is only necessary if several thermocouples have been exchanged.
Performing the allocation
aThe unit is connected to the mains.
aThe unit is switched on.
1. Perform an allocation via the service level, in order to assign the thermo-
couples to the correct heating elements.
>> The allocation is complete.

NOTICE
Removal and Installation Thermocouple B201 or B211
Note that different retrofitting instructions are required for the removal and
installation of the thermocouple B201 or B211.

Required component

Required tool

Removing the bottom of the pan cover
aThe unit is switched on.
1. Raise the pan electrically.
2. Switch off the power supply to the unit.
3. Remove the 6 screws on the bottom of the pan cover.

4. Remove the pan cover at the bottom.
>> The bottom of the pan cover has been removed.
Open the electrical compartment
DANGER
High voltages when connecting to the mains power
Danger to life due to high voltage.
nDisconnect from the power supply.
nMake sure the unit is disconnected from the power.
CAUTION
Water damage
If water leaks, the unit can be damaged.
nTurn off the water supply to the unit.
nUse the hand shower to check if the water supply has been turned off.
CAUTION
Sharp edges on the housing
Risk of cuts on the housing when working in the electrical compartment.
Wear protective gloves.
NOTICE
Incorrect objects for opening the control panel
Do not use any sharp or pointy objects to press the control panel upwards.
This could damage the housing and gasket.

NOTICE
Damage to the cable trunk and the control panel when removing the control
panel
The control panel is connected to the installation compartment by a cable
trunk.
Remove the control panel carefully in order not to damage the cable trunk.
Put down the control panel carefully and protect it against scratching.
aThe unit is disconnected from the power.
1. Open the electrical compartment, as described in the original installation
manual for the unit iVario Pro L / XL in section
6.2 Opening the electrical
compartment
.
2. Open the flap of the console panel and remove the 2 screws (1)
3. Remove the control panel. Place some protection on the surface, e.g. a card-
board box or bubble wrap, to protect the control panel against scratching
and damage (2).
4. Remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the unit (3).

5. Remove the hand shower (4). Unroll the hand shower hose and secure it be-
fore rolling it up.
6. Pull the console panel forward, so that you can remove the side panel.

7. Remove the side panel (5).

8. Unplug the plug of the cooling fan (6).
9. Remove the screw on the metal bracket for the SSRs (7), in order to open
the metal bracket to the side. If necessary, remove the cooling fan to gain
better access to the screw.

>> The electrical compartment is open.
Removing thermocouples
aThe pan is raised.
aThe bottom of the pan cover has been removed.
1. Perform the following steps for the appropriate thermocouple. To remove
the complete thermocouple wiring harness, perform the following steps
on all heating elements:

2. Loosen the 2 nuts of the retaining spring with a socket wrench (size 8 mm).
Remove the retaining spring and unhook the thermocouple.

Installing thermocouples

aThe pan is raised.
aThe bottom of the pan cover has been removed.
1. Perform the following steps for the appropriate thermocouple.
2. Connect the cable to the I/O board.
3. Guide the cable through the pan axis.
4. Hang the thermocouple in the retaining spring.
5. Tighten the 2 nuts of the retaining spring with a torque of 4 Nm.
6. Fasten the cable together with the other cables with a temperature-resist-
ant cable tie.
>> The thermocouples have been installed.
Close the electrical compartment
1. Proceed in reverse order to the step

2. Make sure that the console panel is pushed back onto the metal protrusion
at the bottom of the screw connection.
>> The electrical compartment is closed.
Mounting the bottom of the pan cover

Allgemeine Informationen
In diesem Kapitel wird der Umbau für die Gerätegrößen 2-XS und 2-S beschrie-
ben. Den Umbau für die Gerätegrößen L und XL finden Sie im nächsten Kapitel.
Die Abbildungen dieser Anleitung sind beispielhaft und können vom Gerät ab-
weichen.
HINWEIS
Ausbau und Einbau Thermoelement B201 oder B211
Beachten Sie, dass für den Ausbau und Einbau des Thermoelements B201
oder B211 eine andere Umbauanleitung notwendig ist.

Benötigtes Bauteil
Es können alle oder nur einzelne Thermoelemente eingebaut werden.

Benötigtes Werkzeug
Für den Einbau der Thermoelemente ist ein Drehmomentschlüssel mit einem
Drehmoment von 4Nm notwendig. Verwenden Sie den Drehmomentschlüssel
des Herstellers (Artikelnummer: W24001).
Tiegelverkleidung entfernen
aDas Gerät ist eingeschaltet.
1. Fahren Sie den Tiegel elektrisch hoch.
2. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus.
3. Schalten Sie das Gerät spannungsfrei.
4. Entfernen Sie die 5 Schrauben auf der Tiegelverkleidung unten (1).

5. Nehmen Sie die Tiegelverkleidung ab (2).

Bedienblende öffnen
GEFAHR
Hohe Spannungen bei Anschluss an das Stromnetz
Lebensgefahr bei Arbeiten mit Hochspannung.
nTrennen Sie die Verbindung zur Energieversorgung.
nStellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät spannungslos ist.
VORSICHT
Scharfe Kanten am Gehäuse
Schnittgefahr am Gehäuse bei Arbeiten im Elektroraum.
Tragen Sie Schutzhandschuhe.
WARNUNG
Gerät fällt von der Aufstellfläche
Quetsch- und Verletzungsgefahr durch Kippen oder Drehen des Gerätes.
nKippen Sie das Gerät nicht auf der Aufstellfläche.
nStellen Sie beim Drehen des Gerätes sicher, dass das Gewicht des
Gerätes gleichmäßig verteilt ist und sich das Gerät komplett auf der
Aufstellfläche befinden.
aDas Gerät ist spannungsfrei.
1. Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung auf der Konsolenverkleidung und entfernen Sie
die 2 Schrauben (1).

2. Nehmen Sie die Bedienblende ab. Legen Sie einen Schutz, z.B. eine Kartona-
ge oder Luftpolsterfolie, auf den Tiegeldeckel, um die Bedienblende gegen
Verkratzen und Beschädigungen zu schützen (2).

>> Die Bedienblende ist geöffnet.
Thermoelemente ausbauen
aDer Tiegel ist hochgefahren.
aDie Tiegelverkleidung unten ist entfernt.
1. Führen Sie folgende Schritte für die entsprechenden Thermoelemente aus.
Um den kompletten Kabelbaum Thermoelemente auszubauen, führen Sie
folgende Schritte auf allen Heizelementen aus:
2. Lösen Sie die 2 Muttern der Haltefeder mit einem Steckschlüssel (Größe
8mm). Entfernen Sie die Haltefeder und haken Sie das Thermoelement aus.
3. Stecken Sie das Thermoelement von der I/O-Platine ab.
4. Lösen Sie das Kabel des Thermoelements aus dem Kabelbaum oder lassen
Sie es unangeschlossen im Gerät.
>> Die Thermoelemente sind ausgebaut.
Thermoelemente einbauen
Ein Drehmomentschlüssel (4Nm) liegt bereit.

aDer Tiegel ist hochgefahren.
aDie Tiegelverkleidung unten ist entfernt.
1. Führen Sie folgende Schritte für die entsprechenden Thermoelemente aus.
2. Stecken Sie das Kabel an der I/O-Platine an.
3. Führen Sie das Kabel durch die Tiegelachse.
4. Hängen Sie das Thermoelement in die Haltefeder ein.
5. Befestigen Sie die 2 Muttern der Haltefeder mit einem Drehmoment von
4Nm.
6. Fixieren Sie das Kabel zusammen mit den anderen Kabeln mit einem tem-
peraturfesten Kabelbinder.
>> Die Thermoelemente sind eingebaut.
Bedienblende schließen
1. Gehen Sie in umgekehrter Reihenfolge zum Schritt

HINWEIS
Eine Allokation ist nur notwendig, wenn mehrere Thermoelemente
getauscht wurden.
Allokation durchführen
aDas Gerät ist an das Stromnetz angeschlossen.
aDas Gerät ist eingeschaltet.
1. Führen Sie eine Allokation über die Serviceebene durch, um die Thermo-
elemente den richtigen Heizelementen zuzuweisen.
>> Die Allokation ist abgeschlossen.
