1. Read all instructions in this manual be ore
using the CYC3i.
2. Use the CYC3i only as described in this
manual.
3. It is the responsibility o the owner to
ensure that all users o the CYC3i are ade-
quately in ormed o all precautions.
4. The CYC3i is intended or in-home use
only. Do not use the CYC3i in a commer-
cial, rental, or institutional setting.
5. Use the CYC3i indoors on a level sur ace.
Keep the CYC3i away rom moisture and
dust. Place a mat under the CYC3i to pro-
tect the loor or carpet.
6. Inspect and tighten all parts regularly.
Replace any worn parts immediately.
7. Keep children under the age o 12 and pets
away rom the CYC3i at all times.
8. The CYC3i should not be used by persons
weighing more than 250 pounds.
9. Always keep your back straight when using
the CYC3i. Do not arch your back.
10. Wear appropriate clothing when exercising;
do not wear loose clothing that could
become caught on the CYC3i. Always wear
athletic shoes when using the CYC3i.
11. The pulse monitor is not a medical device.
Various actors, including the user's move-
ment, may a ect the accuracy o heart rate
readings. The pulse monitor is intended
only as an exercise aid in determining heart
rate trends in general.
12. I you eel pain or dizziness while exercis-
ing, stop immediately and cool down.
13. The warnings shown below are ound on the
console o the CYC3i. Make sure to amil-
iarise yoursel with the warnings be ore
you use the CYC3i.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Congratulations for selecting the new REEBOK®CYC3i
exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most effective
exercises for increasing cardiovascular fitness, building
endurance, and toning the entire body. The REEBOK®
CYC3i offers an impressive array of features designed
to let you enjoy this healthful exercise in the comfort
and privacy of your home.
For your bene it, read this manual care ully be ore
you use the REEBOK®CYC3i.
Before reading further, please familiarise yourself with
the parts that are labelled in the drawing below.

Place all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose o the
packing materials until assembly is completed.
Assembly requires the included tools and your own adjustable wrench .

each drawing refers to the key number of the part, from the PART IST on page 14. The second number refers
to the quantity used in assembly. Note: Some small parts may have been pre-attached or shipping. I a

1. Attach the Front Stabiliser (2) to the Frame (1) with
two M8 x 70mm Carriage Bolts (47), two M8 Curved
Washers (28), and two M8 Black Nylon ocknuts
(56). Make sure that the Front Stabiliser is turned
so the Roller (50) is not touching the loor.
2. Attach the Rear Stabiliser (3) to the Frame (1) with
two M8 x 80mm Carriage Bolts (63), two M8 Curved
Washers (28), and two M8 Black Nylon ocknuts
(56).
3. Hold the Handlebar (7) near the Handlebar Post (6).
Insert the Extension Wire (22) through the hole in the
Handlebar. Attach the Handlebar to the Handlebar
Post with three M8 x 20mm Button Screws (19) and
three M8 Flat Washers (18). Make sure that the
Extension Wire (22) is not pinched between the
Handlebar and the Handlebar Post.

4. Hold the Console Plate (8) near the Handlebar (7).
Insert the Resistance Cable (16) down into the hole
in the Handlebar and through the Handlebar Post (6).
Next, thread the Extension Wire (22) up through the
indicated hole in the Console Plate (8). Attach the
Console Plate to the Handlebar (7) with four M4 x
10mm Screws (21). Make sure that the Extension
Wire (22) and the Resistance Cable (16) are not
pinched between the Console Plate and the
Handlebar.

5. The Console (9) requires two “AA” batteries (not
included); alkaline batteries are recommended.
Press two batteries into the battery clip on the back
of the Console (see the inset drawing). Make sure
that the negative (–) ends o the batteries are
touching the springs in the battery clip.
While another person holds the Console (9) near
the Console Plate (8), connect the Extension Wire
(22) to the console wire.
Insert all excess wiring down into the Handlebar
Post (6); make sure that the Resistance Cable
(16) is positioned as shown. Attach the Console
(9) to the Console Plate (8) with six Console Screws
(20).
Firmly press the Resistance Knob (51) onto the
Resistance Control (16).

6. While another person holds the Handlebar Post (6)
near the Frame (1) as shown, connect the
Extension Wire (22) to the Reed Switch Wire (44).
Next, connect the Resistance Cable (16) to the
Extension Cable (17) as shown in drawings A and
B. First, insert the tip of the Resistance Cable (16)
into the wire clip on the Extension Cable (17) as
shown in drawing A. Next, firmly pull the Resistance
Cable and slide it into the metal bracket as shown in
drawing B.
Insert the Handlebar post (6) into the Frame (1). Be
care ul not to pinch the wires and cables. Slide
the Round Collar (13) down the Handlebar Post and
press it into the Frame. Secure the Round Collar
with an M6 x 10mm Screw (26).
Note: There are two sets o holes in the
Handlebar Post (6) so that the Handlebar Post
can be attached at either o two height settings.
Choose the setting that you think will be the
most com ortable. Secure the Handlebar Post (6)
to the Frame (1) with four M8 x 25mm Button
Screws (27) and four M8 Curved Washers (28).
Plug the Pulse Monitor (52) into the jack on the left
side of the Console (9).

8. Identify the eft Pedal (40) (the threaded shaft on
each Pedal is marked with an “ ” for “ eft” or an “R”
for “Right”). Using an adjustable wrench, tighten the
eft Pedal counterclockwise into the left Crank Arm
(34).
Tighten the Right Pedal (not shown) clockwise into
the right Crank Arm (34).

9. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened be ore you use the exercise cycle.
7. Attach the Seat (12) to the Seat Post (11) with four
M6 x 16mm Hex Screws (29) and four M8 Flat
Washers (18). Note: The Hex Screws and Flat
Washers may be pre-attached to the Seat.
Using an adjustable wrench, remove the Seat Knob
Assembly (31) from the Frame (1).
Insert the Seat Post (11) into the Frame (1). Slide
the Round Collar (13) down the Seat Post and
press it into the Frame. Secure the Round Collar to
the Frame with an M6 x 10mm Screw (26).
Reattach the Seat Knob Assembly (31) to the
Frame (1).

HOW TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SEAT
For effective exercise, the seat should be at the proper
height. As you pedal, there should be a slight bend in
your knees when the pedals are in the lowest position.
To adjust the seat,
first turn the seat
knob counterclock-
wise several turns
to loosen it. Next,
pull back the knob,
slide the seat post
up or down as
desired, and then
release the knob.
Move the seat
post up or down
slightly to make
sure that it locks
into place. Finally, turn the knob clockwise to retight-
en it.
HOW TO ADJUST THE HANDLEBARS
The handlebars can
be adjusted to either
of two height set-
tings. If you want to
adjust the height,
see assembly step 6
on page 7.
HOW TO ADJUST THE PEDAL STRAPS
To adjust the
pedal straps, first
pull the ends of
the straps off the
tabs on the ped-
als. Press the
straps back onto
the tabs using dif-
ferent holes in the
straps.
DESCRIPTION OF THE CONSOLE
The innovative
console offers a
manual mode
and three pacer
programs. The
pacer programs
are designed to
help you achieve
specific exercise
goals by pacing
your exercise.
You can choose
from a stamina-building Interval program, an Aerobic
program, and a special Fat Burn program. As you
exercise, seven monitor modes will provide continu-
ous exercise feedback. The monitor modes are
described below:
Pulse—This mode shows your heart rate when
the pulse monitor is used.
Speed—This mode shows your pedalling pace,
in kilometres per hour.
Time—If you select the manual mode, this mode
will show the elapsed time. If you select one of
the three pacer programs, this mode will count
down the time remaining in the program.
Distance—This mode shows the distance you
have pedalled, in kilometres.
Fat Calories—This mode shows the approximate
number of fat calories you have burned (see
BURNING FAT on page 12).
Calories—This mode shows the approximate
number of calories you have burned.
Scan—This mode displays the other six modes,
for 5 seconds each, in a repeating cycle.

HOW THE PACER PROGRAMS OPERATE
When you use a
pacer program, two
columns of bars will
appear in the dis-
play. The left col-
umn represents a
target pace, and the
right column shows
your actual ped-
alling pace. The target pace will change periodically
during the program; as the target pace changes, sim-
ply adjust your pedalling pace to keep both columns
at the same height. Important: The target pace is a
goal pace. Your actual pace may be slower than
the target pace, especially during the irst ew
months o your exercise program. Be sure to exer-
cise at a pace that is com ortable or you.
The three graphs
on the console
show how the
target pace will
change during the
programs. During
the Aerobic
program (P2), for example, the target pace will gradu-
ally increase during the first half of the program, and
gradually decrease during the last half of the program.
Each program will last for twenty minutes.
STEP-BY-STEP CONSOLE OPERATION
Be ore the console can be operated, two batteries
must be installed. (See assembly step 5 on page 7.)
Follow the steps below to operate the console.
Turn on the power
To turn on the
power, press
the on/reset
button or
simply begin
pedalling. The
entire display
will appear for two seconds; the console will then
be ready for use. Note: If batteries were just
installed, the power will already be on.
Select one o the three pacer programs or the
manual mode
To select one of
the pacer
programs,
repeatedly press
the program
button. The pro-
gram indicator
will show which
program you
have selected.
To select the
manual mode, press the program button until the
program indicator disappears. The programs will
be selected in the following order: program 1
(Interval), program 2 (Aerobic), program 3 (Fat
Burn), manual mode.
Begin your workout
I you selected
the manual
mode, go to
step 4. If you
selected one of
the pacer pro-
grams, two
columns of bars
will appear in
the display. The left column will show one bar,
indicating a relatively slow target pace. The right
column will show your actual pedalling pace.
Adjust your pedalling pace until only one bar
appears in the right column. Each time the target
pace changes during the program, adjust your
pedalling pace to keep both columns at the same
height.
Follow your progress with the seven monitor
modes
The pulse
mode—To use
the pulse
mode, the
pulse monitor
must be worn.
Plug the pulse
monitor into
the jack on the
left side of the
console and attach the pulse monitor to your left
ear lobe. Slide the metal clothes clip onto your
collar.
