We are glad that you decided in favor of a high-quality product from Rehatec Dieter Frank GmbH
and would like to thank you for your confidence in our products.
This guide should help you to familiarize yourself with your Supine-Bear „Lasse“ and show you how
it can be quickly and easily used in different missions of daily life.
The innovative backrest provides maximum comfort with the greatest possible individuality. It offers
maximum flexibility through the possibility of steplessly increasing, guided and controlled standing
training and thus ensures a high degree of functionality. You will need only to adjust the Supine-
Bear optimally and it is ready for use. Then you can enjoy its use for a long time.
Please note that presentations and instructions in this manual may vary due to individual
possibilities and options of your product.
We reserve the right to make technical changes and improvements.

1. LEGAL TERMS
1.1. Intended use
The back-restraint is designed for the physiological stabilization of the user. Lasse is available in
different sizes. This manual describes:
• Size 3 - for children and adolescents - With a maximum user load of 70 kg
• Size 4 - for adolescents and adults - With a maximum user load of 70 kg
All safety precautions, advices and information in this manual have to be considered by the user/
operator, to insure safe and successful use of the device.
This product is made strictly for professional use by trained and professionally instructed persons.
Areas of use are: physiotherapy, rehab, physical therapy and medical therapy.
Rehatec® Dieter Frank GmbH gives no guarantee concerning suitability of this product for a parti-
cular therapeutic and diagnostic purpose. The user/operator determines the purposeful use.
This medical product is intended for indoor use at room temperatures from 15°C to 35°C. Use in
the wet area is prohibited. The device must also be kept away from sources of heat and strong
sunlight, as it involves a risk of burns! Use in wet rooms is not permitted. If disregar-ded it can
cause severe damage and be dangerous for the user as well as the operator.
Before use, the device must be connected to a suitable current source. In the event of an
emergency, remove the main plug from the source.
Risks
Depending on the medical condition and the therapeutic goal, it is important to clarify with the
physician or therapist, for how long the patient is able to stay in the standing system. The
fol-lowing symptoms might occur:
• Problems with circulation
• Pain in leg and/or back area
• Increase of spasticity
• Seizures
Many users have to initially stand in a fl xed position and only later can be fully extended. Never
correct the position with force or hard pressure.
1.2. Application
The Supine-Bear „Lasse“ is designed to support the therapeutic process, and can be applied in
cases with follow indications:
Muscular dystrophy, Cerebral movement disorders, Myelodysplasia, Diplegia, tetra paresis,
spinal bifida, cross-section paralysis, multiple sclerosis, paraplegia.
Various disease pictures with paralysis or considerable reduction of the muscles of the trunk, so
that upright standing without comprehensive support does not lead to malaise, deformity and
pain.

1.3. Liability
The operator of the device is responsible for proper usage, care and maintenance of the product.
Alterations, repairs, maintenance work and upgrades of the therapy chair may only be carried
out by authorized persons, and only with original spare parts and accessories. Rehatec’s warranty
applies only when the product is used according to the specified conditions and for the intended
purposes (see also „Warranty and Service“).

2. SAFETy
2.1. Signs and Symbols
Attention!
This note indicates information that is particularly relevant to safety.
Important!
Indicates application tips and particularly useful information.
2.2. Safety Precautions
Please follow all instructions mentioned in current manual. Important functions can be aected
by incorrect operation. All safety instructions and other regulations must be observed by the user,
as well as the assisting person.
Ensure that prior to the rst use of the therapy chair all the settings are correct.
Check whether all accessories are securely mounted before initial use.
Check all settings in regular intervals. Check the strength of screwed connections
of all adjustable parts. Pay particular attention to adjustment possibilities with
two clamp connections, if necessary, tighten screws.
Combinations of Supine-Bear with third party products can be dangerous. The
ma-nufacturer assumes no liability for damage and complications due to such
combi-nations.
Do not leave the user unattended. Make sure the person is constantly
supervised by an adult assisting person.
The therapy chair is approved for use by one person only.
Please pay attention that the user is properly secured against falling out
without restricting comfort.
Operators should be properly trained in the safe handling of the chair. The
handling of the device has to be practiced.
The therapy chair may be operated only by authorized and respectively instructed
personnel.
The maximum allowable weight must never be exceeded. (See chapter ‘’ Technical Data’’).
Keep the device from access by unauthorized persons.
Depending on the disease pattern and weight, 1-2 assistants are needed to lift the
patient to the right position on the Lasse.
In case of defects of the Supine-Bear, it may not be used.
All repair works may only be carried out by Rehatec® Dieter Frank GmbH or by
au-thorized dealers.

Supine-Bear „Lasse“
Do not apply force during setup the device (for instance height adjustment),
otherwise may occur damage of the device due to improper handling. If necessary,
read the manual.
The screw connections of the foot plates are hand-tightened in the delivery
condition! Only after the foot plates have been adapted to the patient's foot, the
screws are firmly tightened.
Adjustment ranges must not be exceeded. Secure locking of the adjusters must be
ensured.
During all adjustment and repair works pay attention to hazards of jamming
and crushing.
The therapy chair may only be used on firm, flat and horizontal ground.
To avoid a fire hazard, make sure that the device is never used near or in
connection with flammable substances! Wood, upholstery and plastic parts are for
instance by smokers, ovens, stoves, fireplaces and other room heaters
inflammable and not reliably flame-retardant.
Surfaces can heat up by heat supply - risk of burning! To protect the patient from
burns, be sure that the appliance is kept away from sources of heat (for instance,
stoves), as well as strong sunlight, and can never heat above 41 ° C.
The appliance must not be used outdoors, in wet area or in high humidity
environment. No condensation may form on the surfaces. For indoors usage only
and with ambient temperature of 15 ° C - 35 ° C.
If the device came in contact with moisture, provide for immediate drying, for
ex-ample by rubbing dry with an absorbent and soft cloth.
Electrical components must not be opened.
In use, the main plug must be accessible at all times in order to be able to pull it
out of the socket quickly in an emergency.
The user must be ensured that no risk is posed when the power plug is plugged in.
A self-start as a defect is to be stopped directly by pulling out the main plug.
Connect or disconnect electrical components only in a voltage-free state.
Carry out all repair and adjustment work in a voltage-free state.

Cables and leads, of the device are not overdrive! A mechanical load must be
avoided.
In the event of a damaged power cable and / or lead wire, the electric cylinder
must be immediately taken out of service and disconnected from the power
source.
Caution if the battery is damaged! In case of contact with leaking liquid,
immediately flush contaminated areas with plenty of water and seek medical
advice.
The device must not be used in an environment where flammable or explosive
gases or vapors are likely to occur.
The drive, control and rechargeable battery must not be disposed of in domestic
waste!
3. PRODUCT AND DELIVERy OVERVIEW
3.1. Delivery Content
Typically, the Lasse is delivered fully assembled and pre-adjusted to the child by the
authorized supplier. Lasse is available in different sizes. For more information on the size and
permissible weight, please refer to the table in the "Technical data" section.

Parts or components which are not included in the standard version of your standing aid are
designated as accessories. It is recommended to order the desired accessories for the first set-up.
You can also purchase and assemble all accessory components at a later date. Contact your
dealer for further information

4. PREPARING THE DEVICE
Please follow the below listed steps before transferring the child onto the Supine-Bear “Lasse”!
• Locking the caster wheels (Chapter 5.2)
• Releasing the lateral trunk supports (Chapter .5)
• Releasing the Pelvic supports (Chapter 5.6)
• Opening the Butterfly chest ha ness (Chapter 5.11)
• Swinging the Knee blocks outwards (Chapter 5.8)
• Hydraulic tilt of the entire Supine-Bear “Lasse” (Chapter 5.12 )

5.1. Transport casters
The four casters are equipped with parking brakes.
The Spine-Bear must stand on rm, at and horizontal ground.
In order to avoid accidental rolling way, always apply all parking brakes.
1 To block casters, press down on brake locks.
2 To release, press the parking brake lock upwards.
5. PREPARING THE DEVICE
Before using the Supine-Bear “Lasse” you have to adjust it to the body measurements of the child!
Variable positioning through multi-functional adjustment of height, depth and tilt angle, provides safe
supine positioning as well as interactive, supported vertical standing. Flexible leg rests, divided in three
interconnected parts, allow easy individual adjustment to accommodate possible contractures of
the leg musculature. The detailed guidance steps for setting the ranges can be found under the
points shown in the figure.

5.2. Kopfstütze
The headrest is adjustable in height, depth and tilt.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
The maximum adjustment is achieved when the pipe end is flush with the guid .
Height adjustment
Loosen wing screw 1.
Move head support 2 to desired height.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
Depth adjustment
Loosen wing screw 1.
Move head support 2 to desired depth.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
Angle adjustment
Using a wrench (size 13) screw 1 At the joint of the headrest.
Move the head rest 2 to desired position.
Tighten the screw 1 at the joint of the support.

5.3. Armrest
The armrests can be adjusted and removed as required.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
The maximum adjustment is achieved when the washer of the wing
screw 1 is flush with the edge of the plate.
Loosen up the wing screw 1 at the back of the armrest.
to adjust, put the armrest 2 in desired position.
to remove, pull out the entire armrest 2.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
When using without arm support, the wing screw 1 should be tightened so as
not to lose it.
Repeat the steps for width adjustment of the second armrest.
5.4. Backrest
Die Rückenpelotte lässt sich nach Lösen der rückseitigen Klemmhebel individuell und stufenlos an
die Körpermaße des Kindes anpassen.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
Height adjustment
Loosen both locking lever 1 at the back.
Push the complete backrest into 2 the desired position.
Fasten both locking lever 1 again.

Furthermore, it is possible to offset the position of the back support by means of its screwed
connection by a grid.
Loosen the screws 1 . If necessary, loosen the two clamping levers 2 and move the backrest
upwards, then tighten the clamping lever 2 again.
Place backrest 3 in height
Fasten screws 1 again.
This adjustment also changes the distance from the table to the chest.
5.5. Lateral trunk supports (optional)
The optionally available lateral trunk supports guide the thoracic position.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
Fitting to the ribcage
Pull the locking pin 1 down.
Swing trunk support 2 towards the ribcage.
The locking pin 1 locks automatically.
Unfold
Pull the locking pin 1 down.
The side supports 2 can now be folded outwards. The
locking pin 1 locks automatically.

Height adjustment
Loosen both locking lever 1 at the back.
Adjust trunk support 2 to desired height.
Fasten both locking lever 1 again.
Width adjustment
Loosen screws 1 and locking lever 2 with key (size M4).
Adjust trunk support 3 as close as desired to the ribcage of the child.
Fasten screws 1 and locking lever 2 again.
Repeat the steps for adjustment of the second trunk support
5.6. Pelvic supports
The pelvic supports guide the position of the pelvic area and can be adjusted in height, width
and inclination to the position of the pelvis.

Re-folding the pelvic supports
Pull the locking pin 1 down.
Cymbal pad 2 and attach to the basin.
Lock the locking bolts 1 .
Height adjustment
Loosen wing screw 1 at the back.
Adjust pelvic support 2 to desired Height.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
Width and Angle adjustment
Loosen locking lever 1.
Adjust the pelvic support 2 to the desired position.
Fasten locking lever 1 again.
Repeat the steps for adjustment of the second pelvic support

5.7. Leg supports
The leg supports of the Supine-Bear “Lasse” can be adjusted in various ways such as in general
height, general angle and knee angle.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
General Height adjustment
Loosen wing screw 1 and locking lever 2 at the back.
Adjust the general height of the leg support 3 to the position of the leg.
Fasten screw 1 and locking lever 2 again.
Knee angle adjustment
Loosen wing screw 1 and both locking lever 2.
Adjust the leg support 3 to the desired position.
Fasten screw 1 and both locking lever 2 again.
Repeat the steps for adjustment of the other leg support

5.8. Anatomic Knee blocks
The optionally available knee blocks control the position of the knees. Höhe, Winkel, Neigung und
Spreizung sind individuell anpassbar.
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
The maximum adjustment is achieved when the pipe end is flush with the guid .
Loosen the Knee block mounting
Loosen the wing screw 1 at the mounting of the knee block.
Rotate the Knee block 2 outwards.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
Knee block mounting adjustment
Loosen the wing screw 1 at the mounting of the knee block.
Place the knee support bracket 2 over the patient's knee in the guide tube and loosely place it
on the knee.
Fasten wing screw 1 again.
Knee block adjustment
Loosen the locking lever 1 at the mounting of the knee block.
Adjust the knee block 2 to the knee.
Fasten locking lever 1 again.
Repeat the steps for adjustment of the other Knee block

5.9. Individual footplates
Two footplates belong with the Supine-Bear “Lasse”. They should be adjusted to the needed height
of the user‘s feet. The various adjustment options allow for adjustment of foot length and ankle
position as well as for consideration of therapeutic goals (e.g. correction of pes equinus where
accessories available).
Pay attention to hazards of jamming and crushing.
The maximum adjustment is achieved when the pipe end is flush with the guid .
Height and Angle adjustment
The maximum adjustment is reached when the marking is visible.
Loosen the pin screw 1 with key (size M4).
Adjust height and angle of the footplate 2 to the foot.
Fasten the pin screw 1 again.
Lenght adjustment
Loosen the pin screw 1 with key (size M4).
Slide footplate 2 on the tube to adjust.
Fasten the pin screw 1 again.
Repeat the steps for adjustment of the other footplate
