to the Reliance® Model 2000 Procedures Chair.

This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance
with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to other
devices in the vicinity. However, there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to other
devices, which can be determined by turning the equipment
off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the
interference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving device.
• Increase the separation between the equipment.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the other device(s) are connected.
• Consult the manufacturer or eld service technician for
help.

2. INSTALLATION
2.1. Unpacking
2.1.1. Chair
2.1.1.1. Open the shipping carton carefully and record any
shipping damage to the carton or to the contents.
2.1.1.2. Remove all contents from the shipping carton
and note that models with a Backrest are packed with the
Backrest removed.
2.1.1.3. To level the chair, tilt chair on its side and screw
all four hex shaped levelers in all the way. Position the chair
in its proper location. Note if any of the levelers do not
touch the oor. Tilt chair and screw out appropriate leveler
approximately half the distance required for it to reach the
oor. Now adjust the leveler diagonal from the rst one
adjusted until all four levelers are in contact with the oor.
2.1.1.4. Plug the Power Cord into a grounded 120 volt,
60 Hertz electrical outlet capable of supplying at least 2.7
amperes. (120V Model)
2.2. Assembly
2.2.1. Backrest
2.2.1.1. To assemble, loosen the Thumbscrew (ltem 3,
Figure 1) and remove the Back Support (ltem 4, Figure 1).
Re-install the back support in its correct (upright) position
and tighten the Thumbscrew.
2.2.1.2. Remove the upholstered Back Assembly (ltem 1,
Figure 1) from the smaller box and remove the Handwheel
(ltem 2, Figure 1) and two Washers (Item 11, & Item 12,
Figure 5). lnsert the stud on the upholstered back through
the slot in the Back Support and the Washers on the same
side as the Handwheel.
2.2.1.2.1. Hold the upholstered back in the correct position
and tighten the Handwheel.

2.2.2. Power Receptacle
2.2.2.1. Locate the Footswitch Assembly and the Power
Cord Assembly. Refer to Figure 4 for receptacle location
and attach all cables.
3. OPERATION
3.1. Rotation
3.1.1. The Chair Top may be rotated a full 360°. The lock
which prevents rotation is controlled by a Hand Lever with
a black handle located below the seat and on the patient’s
right side.
3.1.2. Push the Lever down to release the Lock and lift to
engage the Lock.
3.2 Seat Back Adjustment
3.2.1. The Backrest can be adjusted vertically and
horziontally (Figure 1).
3.2.2. To adjust the Backrest vertically loosen the black
knob (Item 2). Move the Backrest to the desired position
and tighten the knob.
3.2.3. To adjust the Backrest horizontally loosen the thumb
screw (Item 3). Move the Back Support Bar (Item 4) to the
desired position and tighten the Thumb Screw securely.
NOTE: After Support Bar has been inserted
into Back Support per the assembly
instructions (Section 2.2), insert Stop Screw
into threaded hole in end of Support Bar. The
#10-24 x ¼ Round Head Machine Screw
(Part Number 2037299) is shipped in the
parts bag.

CAUTION: Caution should be taken to ensure
there are no obstructions (instruments, trays,
tables) impeding movement of the Chair.

3.3. Seat Height Adjustment
3.3.1. The electric powered Chair Lift is controlled with
a Footswitch. To raise the Chair press the side of the
Footswitch with the raised chair symbol (the right side). To
lower press the side of the switch with the lowered chair
symbol (the left side).
NOTE: This Chair Lift is equipped with a
thermal safety device to protect internal
parts from overheating due to excessive use.
If the Lift should cease operating after many
consecutive operations, wait approximately
45 minutes for internal components to
regain normal temperature.
REMARQUE: Ce télésiège est équipé d’un

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning the Upholstery
When cleaning upholstery, it is suggested that you use all
recommended commercial cleaning agents in an inconspicu-
ous spot to check for potential damage to the upholstery
material before applying to the entire area to be cleaned.
Day to Day soil:
Remove ordinary dirt and smudges with a mild soap and
warm water solution. Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth or towel.
For more difcult stains, use of a stronger detergent is
recommended; however, follow the detergent manufacturer’s
instructions closely.
Disinfecting Material:
In order to disinfect, use a 1:9 solution of bleach and water
(1 part bleach to 9 parts water). Wipe surface with damp
cloth then rinse with water immediately, using a damp cloth.
Special cleaning problems:
The following methods are recommended to clean stains
on PreFixx-protected vinyl upholstery. Most stains will be
removed when these cleaning agents are used in the fol-
lowing order.
Type 1 Cleaners: Nonabrasive household cleaners to be
used with water and a soft cloth.
• Formula 409~All-Purpose Spray Cleaner
• Fantastik® Spray Cleaner
• Other similar household cleaners and bleaches
Type 2 Cleaners: Solvent-type cleaner to be liberally ap-
plied with a soft cloth. Dry area with another cloth, rinse
with clean water and dry.
• Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
• Lighter uid (naptha)
Type 3 Cleaners: Strong, active solvent cleaners such
as nail polish remover (acetone/water) to be applied with
a soft cloth. Stain should be removed with less than six (6)
rubs; if stain persists after six rubs, contact manufacturer.
Dry area with another cloth, rinse with clean water and dry.
CAUTION: These solvents are highly
flammable. Exercise proper care in cleaning
andnotifypersonnelintheareaofanydangers.
Wearrubber glovesduringallcleaning activity.
Use caution in cleaning around buttons,
stitching and wooden or other decorative trim,
since these solvents could seriously damage
such areas.

Portez des gants de caoutchouc durant toute
activité de nettoyage. Faites attention en

Cleaning Painted Surfaces
The painted metal surfaces are covered in durable, powder-
coated paint which is resistant to scratching and scufng.
It may be cleaned with a clean cloth dampened with mild,
soapy water or equivalent household product that uses spray
application.
Recommended Infection Control Products
The disinfectant/cleaner products that we have tested and
recommend for our upholstery, painted items and plastic
covers are as follows.
• Cavicide® Hospital Disinfectant
• Precise® Hospital Foam Cleaner Disinfectant
CAUTION:Followmanufacturer’sdirectionsfor
concentration and application of disinfecting
cleaner. Avoid prolonged application of any
disinfectant/cleaner products, because
they may cause staining or discoloration of
material.
