GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path
of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped
with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be
plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all
local codes and ordinances.

Safety Precautions
This product is for use on a standard 120-volt circuit, and has a grounding plug that looks
like the plug illustrated in photo A (see Figure). A temporary adapter that looks like the
adapter illustrated in photo B and C can be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle
as shown in photo B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adapter
should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (photo A) can be installed by a

If there is an overload weight condition on the head or foot mechanism, the control unit will
automatically stop all functions. Once the excess weight is removed the control unit will
automatically allow all functions to resume operation after 30 seconds.
As with any product that produces a vibrating motion, it is possible that some pacemakers may
interpret this motion as a false sense of movement and/or exercise. This may or may not affect
your pacemaker. If you have any concerns, please consult your physician. For more information

attempt to circumvent or exceed this rating will shorten the life expectancy of this product and
may void the warranty. The recommended weight restrictions for your Adjustable Base
is up to 850 lbs. total weight, including people and the mattress for all sizes of power bases. Lift

IMPORTANT UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid damage to the power base, always
open the carton while the power base is

Carefully lift the power base unit out of the
shipping carton, keeping the unit top side
down. For safety reasons, this should be
performed by 2 people.
Remove Head/Foot end rails
· Loosen cam lock at both corners.
· Loosen and remove hardware [bolts/nuts]
from the two inside slide brackets of each rail.
· Gently detach the head and foot rails.
Remove Side rails
· Loosen and remove hardware [bolts/nuts]
from the two inside U brackets of each rail
· Gently detach the side rails
NOTE: THIS IS AN OPTIONAL STEP.

Remove and extend the power cord from the
frame.
Remove the plastic packaging from the power
base.
Carefully rotate the power base over to the
topside up position, resting on all 4 legs.
Assembling power base legs: Open the
accessories box, take out the 4 legs,
and thread them in a clockwise direction into
the threaded holes in the frame.
NOTE: Tighten the legs securely to the frame.
Leave no space between the leg and frame.
WARNING:
POWER CORDS MUST NOT INTERFERE
WITH ANY POWER BASE MECHANISMS.

STEP 10 (OPTIONAL)
Install the headboard brackets to the power
base. Place one bracket on the left-hand side
of the power base and one bracket on the
right-hand side of the power base.
NOTE: If the power base is to be set
up without a headboard, simply install a
mattress on the frame. If a headboard is to
be installed, proceed to step 10.
NOTE: It is important to position the bottom
of the headboard cross member a maximum
distance of 3 inches (76.2 mm) between the
headboard and the top of the mattress. Do
not exceed 3 inches (76.2 mm).
ATTENTION: For any King/Split King
bars for either base on head or foot.
When two Twin XLs or two Split California
Kings are put together, DO NOT install
retainer bars in the center head or center
foot sections of the bases.

ONLY INSTALL AT THE CUSTOMERS
REQUEST. Customers should try the ProGrip
staying on the base when elevated then we
recommend the customer installing 2 retainer
bars at the foot end of bed. See STEP 9 to
install the corner retainer bars.
Use the Retainer Bolts (F) and Retainer
Bar Plate (I) to fasten the Mattress Retainer
Bracket (B) to the power base.
If you have a center foot retainer bar the follow
the instructions below.

•Loosen both bolts and slide the center bar out
•Turn bar over so standing upright and slide
bar back around bolts and under washers
as shown.
•Slowly tighten the bolts, but don’t tighten too
much or the washer plate will bend.
NOTE: Use only a manual screwdriver to
install the retainer bolts. DO NOT use a
power screwdriver to tighten the bolts. DO
NOT over tighten the mattress retainer
hardware.

STEP 11
1. Use the remote control to raise the head of
the base in order to gain access tothe power
base frame.
2. Remove plastic cap and place the Inner
Headboard Bracket (D) into the round tube
frame making sure the bracket inserted into
the round tube. This will create a box shape.
Place the Headboard Bracket Bolt (G) with a
5/16 Inch Washer (J) through the pre-drilled
hole in the round tube frame and pass it
through the Inner Headboard Bracket. Use
the 5/16 Inch Washer (J) and the 5/16 Inch
Bracket. Use the 5/16 Inch Washer (J) and
5/16 Inch (K) and tighten the bolt in place.
Repeat for the opposing side of the power
base frame.
3. Place the open side of the outer headboard
bracket (E) onto the exposed square tube
of the inner headboard bracket (D). This will
a Headboard Bracket Bold (G) with a 5/16
Inch Washer (J) through the Outer Headboard
Bracket (E) and into Inner Headboard Bracket
(D). Use a 5/16 Inch Washer (J) and 5/16 Inch
Locking Nut (K) and hand tighten to allow
for adjustment. Repeat same procedure for
opposing side of the power base frame.
4. Firmly tighten the headboard bolts (not
included) tothe end of the headboard bracket
assembly.
5. Measure the distance of the center tocenter
mounting holes in the headboard.
6. Measure the distance of the center tocenter
mounting holes in the headboard bracket
assemblies.
7. If the headboard brackets require adjustments,
loosen the bolts that are holding the outer
headboard brackets and move them tothe
necessary distance. Reinstall the bolts and

How to Download
the App Software
Your Flex 9 Adjustable Base has a Bluetooth
Accessory Module as standard equipment.
The Bluetooth Accessory Module allows you
to control your power base with your mobile
device using a free, downloadable app. The
module is compatible with the following devices:
iPhone 5 and 6 series
iPad 3, iPad mini, iPad Air
iPod Touch 5th generation
The LED light on the Bluetooth Accessory
Module serves as a nightlight that can be
controlled with the remote control or with the
mobile APP.

Home Screen
• Key features, functions and settings are accessible
from the home screen.
- Settings, Preset List, Comfort Settings, Routines,
Bluetooth, Nightlight, Home Tab, Position Tab,
Massage Tab, and Alarm Tab.
• Reverie Presets – Zero Gravity, Anti-Snore, and Flat
are right at your ngertips.
• Comfort Setting – Press “New +” to program a unique
head, foot and/or massage combination.
• Routines – Press “New +” to program a set of saved or
new comfort settings into a series of timed positions.
Position Control
• Control your head and foot elevation.
• Select the part of the bed you would like to elevate or
lower (head or foot).
- Use your nger to slide the blue dot
along the curve to your desired elevation.
- Or press and hold the plus or minus
symbol to adjust elevation.
• Your position readout on a scale of 1-100 will appear
at the top of the screen and next to the head or foot
position.
Massage
• Control your massage intensity and duration.
• Full body – Turns on the full body function.
• Wave – Select number of alternating pulses at the
head and foot of the bed.
• Head and Foot control – Select massage intensity in
the head and foot sections of the bed.
- Use your nger to slide the blue button to your
desired intensity.
- Or press and hold the plus or minus symbol to
adjust intensity.
• Timer – Select your desired massage duration.
• Stop – Turns the massage off.

Alarm
• Create an alarm setting to raise and/or massage you
awake.
• Press “New +” to create a new alarm setting.
- Set time: Scroll to select the hour, minute and day.
- Repeat: Select the days of the week you would
like the alarm to activate.
- Bed control: Select nothing or select a new or
existing comfort setting or routine.
- Snooze: Enable snooze.
Settings
• Customize your app in settings.
• User Prole – Dene your user prole to get
recommendations on custom settings for you.
• Bluetooth – Shows the bed your app is connected to.
Shows nearby beds that you can connect to in order of
proximity.
• Help – Contact info for technical support.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
HEAD AND FOOT ADJUSTMENTS (A,B)
•Adjusts the head and foot sections to the de-
sired positions.
•Zero Clearance feature allows for the foundation
able to adjust all sections [head/foot/lumbar]
in a complete motion range without any of
the mechanical parts under the bed touching
adjustable bed without legs if desired.
LUMBAR (C)
•Includes a remote controlled adjustable lumbar
support section for your back and mid-section.
ZERO GRAVITY (D)
•Allows your legs to be lifted to a position slightly
easily circulate back to the heart, thus reducing
stress and fatigue.
ANTI SNORE (E)
•Raises the HEAD slightly for easier breathing.
POWER BASE “FLAT” BUTTON (F)
•

PROGRAMMABLE MEMORY POSITIONS (G,I)
You can store 2 personalized memory positions.
•To Set a Memory Position: When in desired po-
sition, press and hold Memory button for more
times to signal Memory position is stored.
•To recall a Memory Position: Press 1 of the 2
presets.
AMBIENT LIGHTING ON/OFF (H)
•Toggle the lightbulb button for on/off functions.
HEAD AND FOOT MASSAGE CONTROLS (K,N)
•Turns on the corresponding massage unit (start-
ing at intensity 5 of 10)
•Slowly increases or decreases massage
intensity. To increase massage intensity, press
(+) button. To decrease massage intensity, press
(-) button.
WAVE MASSAGE PATTERN (L)
•Turns on both head and foot massage motors to
the wave 1 preset.
MASSAGE STOP BUTTON (M)
•Press to stop all massage features.
CHARGING PORT (O)
•To charge remote, plug in the wall charger and
connect to the micro usb port.
•Unplug and plug-in the remote again if you do
not see a charging symbol on the screen.
•Flashing LED on remote indicates Low Power
status.
NOTE: Any control button on the remote
will interrupt and stop the FLAT, ZERO-G,
Anti-Snore and Memory presets 1-2.
NOTE:
All screens will timeout after 5 seconds,
15 seconds if screen is auto-refreshing
NOTE: The lowest setting will turn off the
corresponding massage unit.
NOTE: The massage feature is designed
to automatically shut off after 30 minutes of
continuous use.

Bluetooth®remote control system.
•The included remote is already paired with
your power base, so should be operational
right out of the box. Please test some of the
features to ensure functionality.
•Only replacement remote controls require
pairing instruction on following pages.

•When you choose SPLIT KING, will be
asked if want to connect to both sides of
bed?
•Select YES and will automatically connect
with both sides.
•Select NO, then LED display will show a list
of available beds within range.
•Select the desired beds you want to
connect.
[Select OTHER]
•After selecting OTHER you will be shown a
list of all available beds and asked to select
the beds you wish to connect [remote can
show up to 20 beds]
•Select any two beds you wish to connect by
single-pressing the lightbulb button.
Hold Lightbulb button for 3 seconds to start
searching.
The remote will only detect one bed and
automatically connect.

NOTE: If it cannot detect any beds then
will say NO BED FOUND.
