AWARNING: When setting up pool water turnovers
or ow rates, the operator must consider local codes
governing turnover as well as disinfectant feed ratios.

the maximum ow rate stated on the drain cover.

AWARNING: Improper installation, adjustment,
alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property
damage, personal injury or loss of life.
AWARNING: A pool or spa pump must be installed
by a qualied pool and spa service professional in
accordance with the National Electrical Code and
all applicable local codes and ordinances. Improper
installation may cause and electrical hazard which could
result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers,
or others due to electrical shock, and also cause
property damage.
AWARNING: Pumps are not a substitute for properly
installed and secured pool drain covers. Refer to local
codes and requirements as appropriate. An ANSI/ASME
A112.19.8 approved anti-entrapment drain cover must
be used for each drain. Pools and spas should utilize a
minimum of 2 drains per pump. If a drain cover becomes
loose, broken, or is missing, close the pool or spa
immediately and shut o󰀨 the pump until an approved
anti-entrapment drain cover is properly installed with
the manufacturer's supplied screws.

operate swimming pools, spas, or hot tubs if a suction
outlet cover is missing, broken, or loose.

WORKING ON PUMP, OR SHOCK, BURN
OR ELECTROCUTION CAN RESULT.
Always disconnect pool pump power at the circuit breaker
before servicing the pump. Death or serious injury to
service people, pool users or others due to electric shock
could result from failure to avoid the high danger risk.
ADANGER: For continued protection against possible
electrical shock, this unit is to be mounted to the base in
accordance with the installation instructions.
NOTE: Always turn o󰀨 all power to the pool pump before
installing the cover or working on any suction outlet.
NOTE: This pump operates with electrical voltage, and
can generate both vacuum and pressure in the water
system. When properly wired and plumbed, this pump
will operate in a safe manner.
AWARNING: Do not bury the electrical cord. Place
the cord so as to eliminate contact to from lawnmowers,
hedge trimmers, other equipment and to avoid a tripping
hazard.
ACAUTION: This pump is for use with permanently
installed pools and may also be used with hot tubs and
spas. Do not use with storable pools unless the pump
is protected by a factory-installed double-insulated
enclosure. A permanently-installed pool is constructed
in or on the ground or in a building such that it cannot
be readily disassembled for storage. A storable pool is
constructed so that it may be readily disassembled for
storage and reassembled to original integrity.
AWARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock,
connect ground wires to grounding screw located in the
motor. Use no smaller than a #12 AWG (3.3 mm) wire.
AWARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock,
replace any damaged electrical cord immediately.
AWARNING: Never work on the pump while it is
running or the power is still connected. High voltage
can cause serious or fatal injury. A suitable ground-fault
circuit-interrupter (GFCI) should always be installed at
the power supply source of this unit. Article 681-31 of
the NEC requires that a GFCI be used if this pump is
used with a storage pool. Be sure to ground the motor
before connecting to electrical AC power source. Failure
to ground the motor can cause serious or fatal electrical
shock hazard. DO NOT ground to a gas supply pipe line.
AWARNING: Ground and bond the pump before
connecting to electrical power supply. Failure to ground
and bond the pump can cause serious or fatal electrical
shock hazard. DO NOT ground to a gas supply line. To
avoid dangerous or fatal electrical shock, turn OFF power
to the pump before working on electrical connections.
NOTE: Always turn o󰀨 all power to the pool pump before
installing the cover or working on any suction outlet.
ACAUTION: Elevated water temperature can be
hazardous. Refer to local codes and requirements
as appropriate. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety
Commission has these guidelines:
1. Spa water temperatures should never exceed 104°F
(40°C). A temperature of 100°F (38°C) is considered
safe for a healthy adult. Special caution is suggested
for young children.
2. Drinking of alcoholic beverages before or during spa
or hot tub use can cause drowsiness which could
lead to unconsciousness and subsequently result in
drowning.
3. Pregnant Women Beware! Soaking in water over
102°F (39°C) can cause fetal damage during the rst
three months of pregnancy resulting in the birth of a
brain-damaged or deformed child.
4. Before entering the spa or hot tub, users should
check the water temperature with an accurate
thermometer; spa or hot tub thermostats may err
in regulating water temperatures by as much as 4°F
(2.2°C).
5. Persons with a medical history of heart disease,
circulatory problems, diabetes, or blood pressure
problems should obtain a physician’s advice before
using pools or hot tubs.
6. Persons taking medications which induce
drowsiness, such as tranquilizers, antihistamines,
or anticoagulants, should not use spas or hot tubs.
AWARNING: Bonding Instructions - Permanently
wired units will need to include instructions for
connecting the solid copper, equipotential bonding
conductor. For units sold with the UL Mark for the
United States (USL), the size of the bonding conductor
should be No. 8 AWG. For units sold with the UL Mark for
Canada (CNL), the size of the bonding conductor should
be No. 6 AWG.
AWARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Connect only
to a branch circuit protected by a GFCI. Contact a
qualied electrician if you cannot verify that the circuit is
protected by a GFCI. The unit must be connected only to
a supply circuit that is protected by a GFCI. Such a GFCI
should be provided by the installer and should be tested
on a routine basis. To test the GFCI, push the test button.
The GFCI should interrupt power. Push the reset button.
Power should be restored. If the GFCI fails to operate in
this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts
power to the pump without the test button being pushed,
a ground current is owing, indicating the possibility of
an electric shock. Do not use this pump. Disconnect
the pump and have the problem corrected by a qualied
service representative before using.

Entrapment Prevention
ADANGER: DO NOT BLOCK SUCTION.
ADANGER: Hazardous suction can
trap hair or body parts, causing severe
injury or death. Do not block suction.
SUCTION HAZARD. Can cause serious injury or death.
Do not use this pump for wading pools, shallow pools,
or spas containing bottom drains, unless the pump is
connected to at least two functioning suction outlets.
AWARNING: Pump suction is hazardous and can
trap and drown or disembowel bathers. Do not use or
operate swimming pools, spas, or hot tubs if a suction
outlet cover is missing, broken, or loose.
The following guidelines provide information for pump
installation to minimize risk of injury to users of pools,
spas, and hot tubs.
Entrapment Protection
The pump suction system must provide protection against
the hazards of suction entrapment.
Suction Outlet Covers
All suction outlets must have screw-fastened covers
installed. All suction outlet (drain) covers must be
maintained. Drain covers must be listed/certied to the
latest published edition of ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/
APSP-16, 2011). They must be replaced if cracked,
broken, or missing.
Number of Suction Outlets Per Pump
Provide at least two hydraulically-balanced main drains,
with covers, as suction, for each circulating pump suction
line. The centers of the main drains (suction outlets) on
any one suction line must be at least 3 ft (.9 m) apart,
center to center.
The system must be built to include at least two suction
outlets (drains) connected to the pump whenever the pump
is running. However, if the two main drains run into a single
suction line, the single suction line may be equipped with a
valve that will shut o󰀨 both main drains from the pump. The
system shall be constructed so that it shall not allow for
separate or independent shuto󰀨 or isolation of each drain.
More than one pump can be connected to a single suction
line as long as the requirements above are met.
Water Velocity
The water velocity through the suction tting or cover
for any suction outlet must be 1.5 ft (.5 m) per second or
less, unless the outlet complies with the latest published
edition of ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/APSP-16, 2011),
the standard for Suction Fittings For Use in Swimming and
Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and Whirlpool Bathtub
Applications. In any case, do not exceed the suction
tting's maximum designed ow rate.
If 100% of the pump’s ow comes from the main drain
system, the water velocity in the pump suction hydraulic
system must be 6 ft (1.8 m) per second or less, even if one
main drain (suction outlet) is completely blocked. The ow
through the remaining main drain(s) must comply with the
latest published edition of ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/
APSP-16, 2011), the standard for Suction Fittings For Use
in Swimming and Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and
Whirlpool Bathtub Applications.
Testing and Certication
Suction outlet covers must have been tested by a nationally-
recognized testing laboratory and found to comply with the
latest published edition of ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/
APSP-16, 2011), the standard for Suction Fittings For Use
in Swimming and Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and
Whirlpool Bathtub Applications.
Fittings
Fittings restrict ow; for high-e󰀩ciency, use the fewest
possible ttings (but at least two suction outlets).
Avoid ttings that could cause an air trap.
Pool cleaner suction ttings must conform to applicable
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
O󰀩cials (IAPMO) standards, or refer to local codes and
requirements as appropriate.

3. OVERVIEW
This above-ground pool centrifugal pump is designed to
operate for years with proper maintenance. The pump is
constructed of high-quality thermoplastics and corrosion-
resistant materials.
These pumps are driven by an electric motor which
is directly attached to an impeller. When the electric
motor turns, the impeller turns too, moving water from
the trap inlet, to the outlet for water circulation. The trap
basket stops debris from going into the pump to protect
the impeller. It has a transparent lid cover which can be
opened for cleaning out the trap.
Two-Speed Pump Models:
Some of the pump models feature both high-speed and
low-speed settings. At low-speed, the pump runs at half of
the high-speed rate and thus has a di󰀨erent performance
curve. In low-speed mode, the electrical energy savings
are 60%, based on an equal amount of circulated water.
Switch the motor to low-speed for quiet operation and
electrical cost savings if circulation turnover time is not
of critical concern. Expect that minor adjustments may
be required with the automatic chlorine dispenser, the
skimmers, and the heater, due to the lower ow. Refer to
the manual as necessary.
High-speed mode is ideal for vacuuming the pool, quick
ltering action, priming the system, and for keeping up with
heavy pool usage.
4. INSTALLATION
AWARNING: Blockage of suction ttings can cause
serious or fatal injury due to drowning. To reduce the
risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product.
AWARNING: Never work on the pump while it is
running or power is still connected. High voltage can
cause serious or fatal injury. A suitable GFCI should
always be installed at the power supply source of this
unit. Article 681-31 of the NEC requires that a GFCI be
used if this pump is used with a storage pool, or refer
to local codes and requirements as appropriate. Be sure
to ground the motor before connecting it to an electrical
AC power source. Failure to ground the motor can cause
serious or fatal electrical shock hazard. DO NOT ground
to a gas supply pipe line.
AWARNING: The system's centrifugal pump operates
with electrical voltage, and can generate both vacuum
and pressure in the water system. When properly wired
and plumbed, this pump will operate in a safe manner.
AWARNING: Chemical fumes and/or spills can cause
serious corrosion to the lter and pump structural
components. Structurally-weakened components can
cause lter, pump, or valve attachments to separate and
could cause serious bodily injury or property damage.
Packaging
A hose barb kit and union kit are included and needed to
make the connections.

Pump
1. Only qualified, licensed personnel should install
pump and wiring.
2. Electrical Contractors Please Note: All 115VAC 60Hz
pumps must be wired to the main power supply
through an approved and correctly-rated contactor.
3. Allow for an isolation valve in the suction piping.
Upon receipt of the pump, check the carton and check
valve for damage. Open the carton and check the pump
for concealed damage, such as cracks, dents, or a broken
base. If damage is found, contact the shipper or distributor
from which the pump was purchased.
• Inspect the contents of the carton and verify that all
parts are included. See 10.
• Install the pump as close to the pool as possible,
preferably in a dry, well-ventilated area away from
direct sunlight. Protect the pump from excessive
moisture. Make sure there is drainage available near
to where the filter is to be installed. Give consideration
to:
a. Drainage distance from the pump.
b. Pump motor ventilation.
c. Service Access for maintenance and winterizing.
• Place the pump as close to the water source as
possible, so that the suction pipe is short, straight
and direct, thereby reducing friction loss.
• Before installing the pump, make sure that the
surface is solid, elevated, rigid and vibration-free.
• Secure the pump to the base with screws or bolts
to limit the vibration and the stress on the pipes and
joints.
• Leave enough space for the isolation and check
valves on the suction and discharge piping, as
required.

• Connect the suction and discharge pipes to the outlet
and inlet of the swimming pool.
• Make sure that ground level drainage is adequate so
as to prevent flooding.
• DO NOT store or use gasoline or other flammable
vapors or liquids in the vicinity of this pump. DO NOT
store pool chemicals near the pump.
• DO NOT remove any safety alert labels such as
DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION. Keep safety
labels in good condition and replace any missing or
damaged labels.
• Make sure that the pump and piping are accessible
for servicing.
NOTE: The pump suction and discharge connections
have molded-in thread stops. DO NOT try to screw pipes
beyond these stops.
5. START-UP
AWARNING: NEVER run pump dry! Running the pump
dry may damage seals, causing leakage or ooding! Fill
the pump with water before starting the motor. It is an
above ground pool pump and cannot self-prime. Fill the
pump with water before starting.
• Always STOP THE PUMP before and RELEASE ALL
PRESSURE from the pump and the piping system
before proceeding.
• NEVER tighten or loosen screws while the pump is
operating.
• Do not block pump suction.
AWARNING: Do not block pump suction! To do so with
body parts may cause severe or fatal injury. Children
using pool must ALWAYS have close adult supervision.
Pump Priming and Start-up
Priming
• Release all air from the filter and piping system (see
filter instructions in "General Maintenance" section).
• In a flooded suction system (water source higher than
pump) the pump will prime itself when the suction
and discharge valves are opened.
• If the pump is not in a flooded suction system,
unscrew and remove the trap cover, then fill the trap
and pump with water.
• Clean and inspect the O-Ring. Re-install it on the trap
cover.
• Replace the trap cover on the trap; turn clockwise to
tighten the cover.
• Turn the power “ON” at the house circuit breaker.
Optional - Set the pool time clock to the correct time.
• Start the pump by toggling its power switch to the
"ON" position. For the 2-speed models, the power
switch toggles between high-speed, "OFF", and low-
speed positions.
• Optional - Bleed out pool filter - Open the manual air
relief valve on the filter, manually bleed the air out
until a steady water stream is evident. Close the
manual relief valve.
NOTE: Tighten the trap cover by hand only. Priming
time will depend on the vertical length of suction lift and
the horizontal length of the suction piping.

Winterizing
ACAUTION: The pump must be protected when
freezing temperatures are expected. Allowing the pump
to freeze will cause severe damage. Such damage will
not be covered under warranty.
There are two options when winterizing the pump.
Option 1
1. Drain all the water from the pump, system equipment,
and piping.
2. Remove the drain plugs. Do not put plugs back on.
Store the plugs in the empty strainer basket for winter.
3. Keep the motor covered and dry.
Option 2
1. Drain all the water from the pump, system equipment,
and piping.
2. Remove the pump and motor from the plumbing lines
and store indoors in a warm and dry location.
NOTE: When the winter season is over the pump
will need to be primed prior to start. Refer to Start-Up
instructions herein.
ACAUTION: DO NOT run the pump dry. If the pump
is run dry, the mechanical seal will be damaged and
the pump will start to leak at the seal. If this occurs,
the mechanical seal will need to be replaced. ALWAYS
maintain the proper water level in the pool. Continued
operation with low water level could cause a loss of
water pressure, resulting in damage to the pump casing,
impeller, and mechanical seal. Such damage will not be
covered under warranty.
6. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
AWARNING: To prevent damage to the pump and for
proper operation of the system, clean the pump strainer
and skimmer baskets regularly.
The only routine maintenance needed is inspection and
cleaning of the trap basket (pre-lter basket). Debris or
trash that collects in the basket will restrict water ow
through the pump. Follow the instructions below to clean
the trap.
1. Stop the pump, close the suction and discharge gate
valves, and release all pressure from the system
before proceeding.
2. Unscrew the trap lid (pre-filter lid) by turning counter-
clockwise.
3. Remove the strainer basket and clean it. Be sure
all holes in the basket are unclogged, then flush the
basket with water and put the trap (pre-filter) back
into position with the large opening facing the pipe
connection port. If the basket is replaced backwards,
the cover will not fit on the trap body.
4. Clean and inspect the lid.
5. Clean the O-ring and its groove on trap body (pre-
filter) and replace the lid. To help keep the lid from
sticking, tighten by hand only.
6. Prime pump (see priming instructions above).

LIMITED WARRANTY
ABOVE-GROUND SWIMMING POOL PUMPS
Models: RCAGP100, RCAGP102, RCAGP150 & RCAGP152
SCOPE OF WARRANTY
Raypak, Inc. (“Raypak”) warrants to the original owner that the above-ground swimming pool pump
models listed above and sold with this Limited Warranty certificate (the “Pump”), when installed in the
United States of America with a pool, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal
use and service for the Applicable Warranty Period defined herein. In accordance with the terms of this
Limited Warranty, Raypak will, at its option, repair or furnish a replacement for the PUMP or any defective
part of the PUMP that fails in normal use and service during the Applicable Warranty Period. The repair or
replacement will be warranted for only the unexpired portion of the original Applicable Warranty Period, or
the Extended Warranty Period, as the case may be.
EFFECTIVE DATE
The Effective Date of this Limited Warranty is the date of original installation if properly documented. If you
are not able to provide documentary proof of the date of original installation, the Effective Date will be
thirty (30) days after date of purchase, not to exceed one (1) year after date of manufacture. All Applicable
Warranty Periods specified in this Limited Warranty are measured from the Effective Date.
APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD – UNREGISTERED
If the PUMP is installed with a pool, the Applicable Warranty Period is ninety (90) days from the Effective
Date, parts only, for the PUMP and component parts.
EXTENDED WARRANTY PERIOD – REGISTERED
If, within 90 days of the Effective Date, the PUMP is installed in a pool at a single family
residential dwelling and registered with Raypak (www.raypak.com/warranty), then the Applicable Warranty
Period is one (1) year from the Effective Date for the PUMP and component parts.
LABOR AND SHIPPING COSTS
This Limited Warranty does NOT cover any travel time or any labor costs. Furthermore, unless applicable
state law provides otherwise, this Limited Warranty does NOT cover any shipping costs to and from
Raypak’s designated service provider or to or from the installation site. All of the foregoing costs and
expenses are your responsibility, unless applicable state law provides otherwise.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
This Limited Warranty does NOTapply:
1. if the PUMP has been moved from its original place of installation, or if the original owner no longer
owns the property where the original installation was made;
2. if the PUMP is not properly installed in a pool in accordance with applicable local codes and
ordinances, good trade practices and the manufacturer’s installation instructions;
3. if the rating plate(s) or serial number(s) are altered or removed;
4. if the PUMP is modified in any way, or if non-factory authorized accessories or other components are
used in conjunction with the PUMP;
5. to damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from failure to properly install, operate or maintain the
PUMP in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions;
6. to damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from abuse, act of nature, accident, fire, flood, freeze,
lightning or the like;
7. to damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from connected system control devices;
8. to performance problems caused by improper sizing of the PUMP or electric service voltage,
wiring or fusing;
9. to damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from any alteration, including the use of any attachment,
including without limitation, any energy saving device not authorized by the manufacturer;

10. to damage, malfunctions or failures resulting from misuse or neglect, including but not limited to,
freeze-ups.
HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM
You should immediately notify your dealer and provide proof of purchase model number serial number
and date of installation. If the dealer is not available, please contact Raypak customer service at 805-
278-5300. Proper authorization MUST be obtained PRIOR to any repairs for the Limited Warranty
to apply. This Limited Warranty is VOID if the product is repaired or altered in any way by ANY
persons or agencies other than those authorized by Raypak.
When requesting support please be ready to supply the model number, serial number, date of original
installation and a description of the problem. Raypak reserves the right at all times to inspect, or require
the return of, the defective PUMP or component part and to verify warranty coverage at its factory.
Warranty service CANNOT be initiated until the status of the warranty coverage has been
established.
EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY -LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
THE LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY PROVIED BY RAYPAK IN
CONNECTION WITH THE PUMP AND ITS COMPONENT PARTS. NO ONE IS
AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY OTHER WARRANTIES ON RAYPAK’S BEHALF. ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL NOT EXTEND BEYOND THE APPLICABLE
WARRANTY PERIOD SPECIFIED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. RAYPAK’S SOLE
LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO ANY DEFECT SHALL BE AS SET FORTH IN THIS
LIMITED WARRANTY. IT IS AGREED THAT RAYPAK SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY
WHETHER UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY OR IN CONTRACT, TORT OR
NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE FOR CLAIMS FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE FROM
WATER LEAKAGE), ALL OF WHICH ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED,
NOTWITHSTANDING ANY FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY LIMITED

anti-entraînement approuvé soit correctement installé
avec les vis fournies par le fabricant.

ADANGER: ELECTROCUTION OU
RISQUE DE CHOC ÉLECTRIQUE. COUPEZ
L’ALIMENTATION ÉLECTRIQUE AVANT
DE TRAVAILLER SUR LA POMPE AFIN
D’ÉVITER UN CHOC, UNE BRÛLURE OU UNE
ÉLECTROCUTION.
Coupez toujours l’alimentation de la pompe de piscine au
disjoncteur avant tout entretien de la pompe. Le défaut d’éviter
un risque élevé de danger peut entraîner une électrocution du
réparateur, des baigneurs ou d’autres personne, ce qui pourrait
causer de graves blessures ou la mort.
ADANGER: Pour bénécier d’une protection continue
NOTE: coupez toujours l’alimentation de la pompe de
piscine avant d’installer le couvercle d’aspiration ou de
travailler à proximité d’une prise d’aspiration.
NOTE: cette pompe fonctionne à l’électricité et peut
simultanément générer une aspiration et un refoulement d’eau
dans le système. Lorsqu’elle est correctement alimentée en
électricité et en eau, cette pompe est sécuritaire.
AAVERTISSEMENT: N’enterrez jamais le cordon
électrique. Acheminez le cordon de façon à éliminer tout
contact avec une tondeuse à gazon, taille-haies, ou tout
autre équipement pouvant entraîner une chute de leur
AATTENTION: Cette pompe est destinée à être utilisée
avec une piscine installée en permanence et peut également
être utilisée dans un bain à remous ou un spa. Ne pas utiliser
avec une piscine remisable à moins que la pompe soit protégée
par un boîtier à double isolation installé en usine. Une piscine
installée en permanence est construite à l’intérieur ou au sol
ou dans un bâtiment de telle sorte qu’elle ne peut pas être
facilement démontée pour être remisée. Une piscine remisable
est construite pour être facilement démontée, remisée et
aisément réassemblée.
AAVERTISSEMENT : Pour réduire le risque de choc
électrique, connectez les ls de masse à la vis de mise
à la terre du moteur. N’utilisez pas un conducteur d’un
calibre inférieur à 12 AWG (3,3 mm).
AAVERTISSEMENT: Pour réduire le risque de choc
électrique, remplacez immédiatement tout conducteur
électrique endommagé.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Ne travaillez jamais sur la pompe
pendant qu’elle est en marche ou alimentée en électricité. La
haute tension peut causer de graves blessures ou la mort.
Le circuit d’alimentation de cet appareil doit toujours être
protégé par un disjoncteur di󰀨érentiel de fuite à la terre (DDFT).
L’article 681-31 du code NEC exige qu’un DDFT soit utilisé si
cette pompe est utilisée avec une piscine. Assurez-vous de
mettre à la masse le moteur avant de le connecter à la source
d’alimentation CA. Le défaut de mettre le moteur à la masse
entraîne un risque de blessure grave ou la mort. NE PAS mettre
à la masse avec une conduite d’alimentation en gaz.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Assurez-vous que la pompe
soit mise à la terre et à la masse avant de l’alimenter
en électricité. Le défaut de mettre le moteur à la terre
et à la masse entraîne un risque de grave blessure ou
la mort. NE PAS mettre à la masse avec une conduite
d’alimentation en gaz. Pour éviter tout choc électrique
dangereux ou mortel, coupez l’alimentation de la pompe
avant de toucher les connexions électriques.
NOTE: coupez toujours l’alimentation de la pompe de piscine
avant d’installer le couvercle d’aspiration ou de travailler à
proximité d’une prise d’aspiration.
AATTENTION: Une température élevée de l'eau peut
être dangereuse. Reportez-vous aux codes et exigences
locaux, le cas échéant. La Commission américaine de
sécurité des produits de consommation a établi les
directives suivantes:
1. La température de l’eau d’un spa ne doit jamais dépasser
40°C (104°F). Une température de 38°C (100 °F) est
considérée sécuritaire pour un adulte en bonne santé.
Portez une attention particulière aux jeunes enfants.
2. La consommation de boissons alcoolisées avant ou
pendant l’utilisation d’un spa peut entraîner de la
somnolence qui pourrait causer une perte de conscience
et par la suite une noyade.
3. Avis aux femmes enceintes! L’immersion dans de l’eau
chau󰀨ée à plus de 39°C (102°F) peut causer des lésions
foetales pendant les trois premiers mois de la grossesse,
comme des dommages cérébraux ou des di󰀨ormités
physiques.
4. Avant d’entrer dans un spa, chaque utilisateur doit vérier
la température de l’eau à l’aide d’un thermomètre précis;
la température indiquée par le thermostat intégré d’un spa
peut varier de jusqu’à 2,2°C (4°F) de la valeur réelle.
5. Les personnes ayant les antécédents médicaux suivants:
maladies cardiaques, problèmes circulatoires, diabète ou
haute tension artérielle doivent obtenir l’avis d’un médecin
avant d’utiliser une piscine ou un spa.
6. Les personnes qui consomment des médicaments qui
induisent la somnolence, comme des tranquillisants,
antihistaminiques ou anticoagulants, ne devraient pas se
baigner dans un spa.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Instructions de mise à la masse
- Une pompe câblée en permanence doit inclure
des instructions de raccordement du conducteur de
liaison équipotentiel en cuivre massif. Pour les unités
homologuées UL aux États-Unis (USL), le conducteur de
liaison doit avoir un calibre de 8 AWG. Pour les unités
homologuées UL au Canada (CNL), le conducteur de
liaison doit avoir un calibre de 6 AWG.
AAVERTISSEMENT: risque d’électrocution. Connectez
uniquement à un circuit de dérivation protégé par un
DDFT. Veuillez joindre un électricien qualié si vous
ne savez pas si le circuit est protégé par un DDFT. Cet
appareil doit uniquement être connecté à un circuit
d’alimentation protégé par un DDFT. Le DDFT doit être
fourni par l’installateur et devrait être testé de façon
régulière. Pour tester le DDFT, appuyez sur le bouton de
test. Cela devrait interrompre l’alimentation. Appuyez
sur le bouton de réarmement. L’alimentation devrait
être restaurée. Si le DDFT ne fonctionne comme décrit,
il est défectueux. Si le DDFT interrompt l’alimentation
de la pompe sans que le bouton d’essai soit poussé,
cela indique qu’un courant de masse est présent, ce qui
représente un risque de choc électrique. N’utilisez pas
cette pompe. Déconnectez la pompe et faites corriger le
problème par un technicien d’entretien qualié avant de
la réutiliser.

Prévention du piégeage
ADANGER: NE BLOQUEZ PAS L’OUVERTURE
D’ASPIRATION.
ADANGER: la puissance de
l’aspiration peut piéger les cheveux
ou les parties du corps, causant des
blessures graves ou la mort. Ne bloquez
pas l’ouverture d’aspiration.
RISQUE D’ASPIRATION. Peut causer de graves
blessures ou la mort. N’utilisez pas cette pompe avec
une pataugeoire, une piscine peu profonde ou un spa
contenant un drain de fond, sauf si la pompe est raccordée
à au moins deux prises d’aspiration fonctionnelles.
AAVERTISSEMENT: L’aspiration de la pompe est
dangereuse et peut piéger, noyer ou même éventrer un
baigneur. N’utilisez pas la piscine, le spa ou le bain à
remous si un couvercle d’aspiration est manquant, brisé
ou lâche.
La directive qui suit fournit des renseignements sur
l’installation de la pompe an de minimiser les risques de
blessures aux baigneurs dans une piscine, un spa ou un
bain à remous.
Prévention du piégeage
Le système d’aspiration de la pompe doit inclure une
protection contre les risques de piégeage par aspiration.
Couvercles de prises d’aspiration
Toutes les prises d’aspiration doivent être recouvertes d’un
couvercle d’aspiration xé avec des vis. Tous les prises
d’aspiration (drain) doivent régulièrement entretenus. Les
couvercles d’aspiration doivent être homologués selon
l’édition en vigueur de la norme ANSI/ASME A112.19.8
(ANSI/APSP-16, 2011). Ils doivent être remplacés s’ils
sont ssurés, brisés ou manquants.
Nombre de prises d’aspiration par pompe
Chaque conduite d’aspiration de la pompe doit
être alimentée par des drains principaux équilibrés
hydrauliquement et recouverts par des couvercles
d’aspiration. Deux prises d’aspiration d’une seule conduite
d’aspiration doivent être séparés d’au moins 3 pi (0,9 m),
centre à centre.
Le système doit être construit de façon à ce qu’au moins
deux prises d’aspiration (drains) alimentent la pompe en
toutes circonstances. Toutefois, si les deux drains principaux
convergent dans une seule conduite d’aspiration, celle-ci
peut être équipée d’une vanne coupant l’alimentation des
deux drains à la pompe. Le système doit être construit
de façon à ce qu’il ne soit pas possible de séparer ou
d’indépendamment couper l’alimentation de chaque drain.
Plus d’une pompe peut être raccordée à une seule conduite
d’aspiration, en autant que les exigences ci-dessus soient
respectées.
Vitesse de l’eau
La vitesse de l’eau à la prise d’aspiration ou au couvercle
d’aspiration doit être inférieure ou égale à 1,5 pi (0,5 m)
par seconde, sauf si la prise est conforme à l’édition en
vigueur de la norme ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/APSP-
16, 2011) (Suction Fittings For Use in Swimming and
Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and Whirlpool Bathtub
Applications). En toutes circonstances, ne dépassez pas
le débit maximal admissible du raccord d’aspiration.
Si 100% du débit de la pompe provient du système drain
principal, la vitesse de l’eau dans la conduite d’aspiration
de la pompe doit être inférieure ou égale à 6 pi (1,8 m) par
seconde, même si un drain principal (prise d’aspiration)
est complètement bloqué. Le débit à travers les couvercles
restants doit être conforme aux exigences de l’édition en
vigueur de la norme ANSI/ASME A112.19.8 (ANSI/APSP-
16, 2011) (Suction Fittings For Use in Swimming and
Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and Whirlpool Bathtub
Applications).
Essais et certication
Le couvercle d’aspiration doit avoir été testé par un
organisme de certication approuvé et homologué selon
l’édition en vigueur de la norme ANSI/ASME A112.19.8
(ANSI/APSP-16, 2011) (Suction Fittings For Use in
Swimming and Wading Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and
Whirlpool Bathtub Applications).
Raccords
Les raccords limitent le débit; pour maximiser le rendement,
utilisez le moins de raccords possible (mais au moins deux
prises d’aspiration).
Évitez de poser des raccords qui pourraient piéger de l’air.
Les raccords d’aspiration d’équipement pour le nettoyage
de la piscine doivent être conformes aux normes
applicables de l’IAPMO, Ou se référer aux codes et
exigences locaux, selon le cas.

Cette pompe centrifuge de piscine hors terre est conçue
pour fonctionner pendant des années avec un entretien
approprié. La pompe est fabriquée en thermoplastiques de
haute qualité et de matériaux résistants à la corrosion.
Ces pompes sont entraînées par un moteur électrique
qui est directement attaché à une roue à aubes. Lorsque
le moteur électrique tourne, son aube tourne aussi,
aspirant de l’eau par son orice d’entrée et la refoulant
par son orice de sortie. Une crépine empêche les débris
de pénétrer dans la pompe pour protéger la roue. Elle
possède un couvercle transparent qui peut être ouvert
pour nettoyer la crépine.
Modèles de pompes à deux vitesses:
Certains modèles de pompes sont dotés d'un réglage
à haute et à basse vitesse. À basse vitesse, la pompe
fonctionne à la moitié du débit à haute vitesse et a donc
une courbe de performance di󰀨érente. En mode basse
vitesse, les économies d'énergie électrique sont de
60 %, sur la base d'une quantité égale d'eau circulée.
Passez le moteur en mode basse vitesse pour
un fonctionnement silencieux et des économies
d'électricité si le temps de renouvellement de la
circulation n'est pas une préoccupation majeure.
Prévoyez que des ajustements mineurs peuvent être
nécessaires avec le distributeur automatique de chlore,
les skimmers et le réchau󰀨eur, en raison du débit
plus faible. Reportez-vous au manuel si nécessaire.
Le mode haute vitesse est idéal pour aspirer la piscine,
ltrer rapidement, amorcer le système et suivre une
utilisation intensive de la piscine.
4. INSTALLATION
AAVERTISSEMENT:Le blocage des prises
d’aspiration peut causer de graves blessures ou la
mort par noyade. Pour réduire le risque de blessure, ne
permettez pas aux enfants d’utiliser ce produit.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Ne travaillez jamais sur la pompe
pendant qu'elle fonctionne ou que l'alimentation est
encore connectée. La haute tension peut provoquer des
blessures graves ou mortelles. Un GFCI approprié doit
toujours être installé à la source d'alimentation de cette
unité. L'article 681-31 du NEC exige qu'un GFCI soit utilisé
si cette pompe est utilisée avec une piscine de stockage,
ou se référer aux codes et exigences locaux selon le cas.
Veillez à mettre le moteur à la terre avant de le connecter
à une source d'alimentation électrique en courant
alternatif. Le fait de ne pas mettre le moteur à la terre peut
entraîner un risque de choc électrique grave ou mortel.
NE PAS mettre à la terre un tuyau d'alimentation en gaz.
r à la masse entraîne un risque de blessure grave ou
la mort. NE PAS mettre à la masse avec une conduite
d’alimentation en gaz.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Cette pompe fonctionne à
l’électricité et peut simultanément générer une aspiration
et un refoulement d’eau dans le système. Lorsqu’elle est
correctement alimentée en électricité et en eau, cette
pompe est sécuritaire.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Les vapeurs chimiques ou les
déversements peuvent provoquer une corrosion grave
des composants structurels du ltre et de la pompe.
Les composants structurellement a󰀨aiblis peuvent
provoquer la séparation des composantes du ltre,
de la pompe ou des vannes et causer des dommages
matériels, de graves blessures ou la mort.
Emballage
Un ensemble de raccords et d’unions sont inclus et requis
pour e󰀨ectuer les raccordements.
UNION KIT HOSE BARB KIT
Pompe
1. Seul un technicien qualifié et autorisé devrait installer la
pompe et effectuer les raccordements électriques.
2. Message au maître électricien: toutes pompe 115 VCA
60 Hz doivent être raccordée au circuit de dérivation
l’intermédiaire d’un contacteur approuvé et de capacité
appropriée.
3. Prévoyez l’installation d’une vanne d’isolement dans la
conduite d’aspiration.
À la réception de la pompe, inspectez la boîte et le clapet anti-
retour pour détecter tout éventuel dommage. Ouvrez la boîte et
assurez-vous que la pompe n’est pas endommagée (ssures,
bosses ou base cassée). Si des dommages sont constatés,
joignez l’expéditeur ou le distributeur auprès duquel la pompe a
été achetée.
• Inspectez le contenu de la boîte et assurez-vous que
toutes les pièces sont incluses. Voir page 10.
• Installez la pompe aussi près que possible de la piscine, de
préférence dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé à l’abri de la
lumière directe du soleil. Protégez la pompe de l’humidité
excessive. Assurez-vous de la présence d’une capacité
de drainage près de l’endroit d’installation du filtre. À
considérer:
a. Distance de drainage de la pompe.
b. Ventilation du moteur de pompe.
c. Accès pour l’entretien et l’hivernage.
• Placez la pompe aussi près que possible de la source
d’eau, de sorte que l’acheminement de la conduite
d’aspiration soit courte, droite et directe, réduisant ainsi la
perte par friction.

5. MISE EN MARCHE
AAVERTISSEMENT: NE laissez JAMAIS la pompe
fonctionner à sec! La mise en marche d’une pompe à sec
peut endommager ses joints, ce qui pourrait provoquer
des fuites ou des inondations! Remplissez la pompe
d’eau avant de mettre son moteur en marche. Cette
pompe de piscine hors terre n’est pas du type à auto-
amorçage. Remplissez la pompe d’eau avant de mettre
son moteur en marche.
• ARRÊTEZ TOUJOURS LA POMPE avant et LIBÉREZ
TOUTE PRESSION de la pompe et du système de
tuyauterie avant de procéder.
• NE JAMAIS serrer ou desserrer les vis pendant que
la pompe fonctionne.
• Ne bloquez pas la prise d’aspiration.
AAVERTISSEMENT: Ne bloquez pas la prise
d’aspiration! Un blocage avec toute partie du corps
peut causer de graves blessures ou la mort. Les enfants
utilisant la piscine doivent TOUJOURS être sous une
surveillance étroite des adultes.
Amorçage et démarrage de la pompe
Amorçage
• Libérez tout l’air du filtre et du système de tuyauterie
(voir les instructions relatives au filtre ci-dessous).
• Dans un système d’aspiration inondé (source d’eau
supérieure à la pompe), la pompe s’amorce par
elle-même à l’ouverture des vannes des conduites
d’aspiration et de refoulement.
• Avant d’installer la pompe, assurez-vous que la surface est
solide, surélevée, rigide et sans vibrations.
• Fixez la pompe à la base avec des vis ou des boulons pour
limiter les vibrations et les contraintes sur les tuyaux et les
joints.
• Laissez suffisamment d’espace pour les vannes
d’isolement des conduites d’aspiration et de refoulement,
selon les besoins.
• Raccordez les conduites d’aspiration et de refoulement
aux raccords correspondants de la piscine.
• Assurez-vous que la pente de drainage au sol est adéquate
afin d’éviter une inondation.
• NE PAS ranger ni utiliser de l’essence ou d’autres liquides
ou vapeurs inflammables à proximité de cet appareil ou
de tout autre appareil. NE PAS entreposer de produits
chimiques près de la pompe.
• NE PAS retirer les étiquettes d’alerte de sécurité telles que
DANGER, AVERTISSEMENT ou ATTENTION. Gardez
les étiquettes de sécurité en bon état et remplacez les
étiquettes manquantes ou endommagées.
• Assurez-vous que la pompe et la tuyauterie sont
accessibles pour l’entretien.
NOTE: Les raccords d’aspiration et de refoulement de la
pompe ont des arrêts moulés. N’essayez PAS d’insérer
les tuyaux au-delà de ces arrêts.

6. Amorcez la pompe (voir les instructions d’amorçage
ci-dessus).
Hivernage
AATTENTION: La pompe doit être protégée contre le
gel. Le gel de la pompe l’endommagera irrémédiablement.
De tels dommages ne sont pas couverts par la garantie.
Il y a deux options lors de l’hivernage de la pompe.
Option 1
1. Drainez toute l’eau de la pompe, de l’équipement du
système et de la tuyauterie.
2. Retirez les bouchons de vidange. Ne remettez pas
les bouchons en place. Rangez les bouchons dans
le panier de crépine pour l’hiver.
3. Gardez le moteur couvert et sec.
Option 2
1. Drainez toute l’eau de la pompe, de l’équipement du
système et de la tuyauterie.
2. Déconnectez la pompe et le moteur des conduites
d’eau et rangez à l’intérieur dans un endroit chaud
et sec.
NOTE: À la n de l’hiver, la pompe devra être amorcée
avant sa remise en marche. Reportez-vous aux
instructions de démarrage ci-incluses.
AATTENTION: NE PAS faire fonctionner la pompe à
sec. Si la pompe fonctionne à sec, son joint mécanique
sera endommagé et la pompe commencera à fuir au
niveau de ce joint. Si cela se produit, le joint mécanique
devra être remplacé. Maintenez TOUJOURS le niveau
d’eau approprié dans la piscine. Une utilisation continue
avec un faible niveau d’eau pourrait entraîner une perte
de pression d’eau, entraînant des dommages au boîtier
de la pompe, à la roue et au joint mécanique. De tels
dommages ne sont pas couverts par la garantie.
• Si la pompe n’est pas dans un système d’aspiration
inondée, dévissez et retirez le couvercle de la
crépine, puis remplissez la crépine et pompez avec
de l’eau présente.
• Nettoyez et inspectez le joint torique. Réinstallez-le
sur le couvercle de la crépine.
• Réinstallez le couvercle de la crépine; tourner dans
le sens horaire pour serrer le couvercle.
• Mettez sous tension le disjoncteur de la maison.
Facultatif - Réglez l'horloge de la piscine à l'heure
correcte.
• Démarrez la pompe en basculant son interrupteur
d'alimentation sur la position "ON". Pour les modèles
à 2 vitesses, l'interrupteur d'alimentation bascule
entre les positions haute vitesse, « OFF » et basse
vitesse.
• Facultatif - Purger le filtre de la piscine - Ouvrez la
soupape de décharge d'air manuelle sur le filtre,
purgez manuellement l'air jusqu'à ce que le jet d'eau
soit constant. Fermez la soupape de décharge
manuelle.
NOTE: Serrez le couvercle de la crépine à la main
seulement. La durée d’amorçage dépend de la hauteur
et de la longueur de la conduite d’aspiration.
6. ENTRETIEN GÉNÉRAL
AAVERTISSEMENT: Pour éviter d’endommager
la pompe et pour assurer le bon fonctionnement du
système, nettoyez régulièrement la crépine de pompe et
les paniers d’écumoires.
Le seul entretien de routine requis est l’inspection et le
nettoyage de la crépine. Les débris qui s’y accumulent
limitent l’écoulement de l’eau à travers la pompe. Suivez
les instructions ci-dessous pour nettoyer la crépine.
1. Arrêtez la pompe, fermez les vannes d’aspiration
et de refoulement, et libérez toute la pression du
système avant de continuer.
2. Dévisser le couvercle de la crépine en tournant dans
le sens antihoraire.
3. Retirez le panier de crépine et nettoyez-le. Assurez-
vous que tous les trous dans le panier sont
débouchés, puis rincer le panier avec de l’eau et le
remette en position, en prenant soin que la grande
ouverture soit orientée vers le raccord de la conduite.
Si le panier est réinstallé à l’envers, le couvercle ne
pourra être refermé.
4. Nettoyez et inspectez le couvercle.
5. Nettoyer le joint torique et sa rainure sur le corps de
la crépine et remettez en place le couvercle. Pour
éviter que le couvercle ne soit impossible à ouvrir,
serrer à la main seulement.
