SUCTION ENTRAPMENT HAZARD: STAY OFF THE MAIN DRAIN AND AWAY FROM ALL SUCTION OUTLETS!
THIS PUMP PRODUCES HIGH LEVELS OF SUCTION AND CREATES A STRONG VACUUM AT THE MAIN DRAIN
AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR POOL AND SPA. THIS SUCTION IS SO STRONG THAT IT CAN TRAP ADULTS OR
CHILDREN UNDER WATER IF THEY COME IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A POOL OR SPA DRAIN OR A LOOSE OR
BROKEN DRAIN COVER OR GRATE.
THE USE OF UNAPPROVED COVERS OR ALLOWING USE OF THE POOL OR SPA WHEN COVERS ARE
MISSING, CRACKED OR BROKEN CAN RESULT IN BODY OR LIMB ENTRAPMENT, HAIR ENTANGLEMENT, BODY
ENTRAPMENT, EVISCERATION AND/OR DEATH.
The suction at a pool or spa drain or outlet can cause:
Limb Entrapment: When a limb is sucked or inserted into an opening resulting in a mechanical bind or swelling. This
hazard is present when a drain cover is missing, broken, loose, cracked or not properly secured.
Hair Entanglement: When the hair tangles or knots in the drain cover, trapping the swimmer underwater. This hazard
is present when the ow rating of the cover is too small for the pump or pumps.
Body Entrapment: When a portion of the body is held against the drain cover trapping the swimmer underwater. This
hazard is present when the drain cover is missing, broken or the cover ow rating is not high enough for the pump or pumps.
Evisceration/Disembowelment: When a person sits on an open pool (particularly a child wading pool) or spa outlet
and suction is applied directly to the intestines, causing severe intestinal damage. This hazard is present when the drain
cover is missing, loose, cracked, or not properly secured.
Mechanical Entrapment: When jewelry, swimsuit, hair decorations, nger, toe or knuckle is caught in an opening of an outlet
or drain cover. This hazard is present when the drain cover is missing, broken, loose, cracked, or not properly secured.
NOTE: ALL SUCTION PLUMBING MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST NATIONAL AND
LOCAL CODES FOR SWIMMING POOLS, SPAS AND HOT TUBS.

TO MINIMIZE THE RISK OF INJURY DUE TO SUCTION ENTRAPMENT HAZARD:
• Pools and spas should utilize a minimum of two drains per pump.
• Each suction cover must be installed at least one (1m) meter apart, as measured from the nearest point to
nearest point.
• Regularly inspect all covers for cracks, damage and advanced weathering.
• If a cover becomes loose, cracked, damaged, broken or is missing, close the pool or spa immediately, shut off
the pump, post a notice and keep the pool or spa closed until an appropriate certied cover is properly installed.
• Replace drain covers as necessary. Drain covers deteriorate over time due to exposure to sunlight, pool chemicals
and weather.
• Avoid getting hair, limbs or body in close proximity to any suction cover, pool drain or outlet.
• Use a safety vacuum release system (“SVRS”), suction limiting system or automatic pump shut-off system.
• Disable suction outlets or recongure into return inlets.
HAZARDOUS PRESSURE: STAND CLEAR OF PUMP AND FILTER DURING START-UP
Pool and spa circulation systems operate under high pressure. When any part of the circulating
system (i.e. lock ring, pump, lter, valves, etc.) is serviced, air can enter the system and
become pressurized. Pressurized air can cause the pump housing cover, lter lid and valves
to violently separate which can result in severe personal injury or death. Filter tank lid and
strainer cover must be properly secured to prevent violent separation. Stand clear of all
circulation system equipment when turning on or starting up pump.
CAUTION!: Electrical controls such as on/off switches, timers, and control systems, etc. should be properly
installed to allow the operation (start-up, shut-down, or servicing) of any pump or lter without requiring the user to
place any portion of his/her body over or near the pump strainer lid or lter lid. Such installation should allow the
user to stand clear of the lter and pump during system start-up, shut down or servicing of the system.
Before servicing pool and spa equipment, make note of the lter pressure. Be sure that all controls are set to
ensure the system cannot inadvertently start during service. Turn off all power to the pump.
IMPORTANT: Place lter manual air relief valve in the open position and wait for all pressure in the system
to be relieved.
Before starting the system, fully open the manual air relief valve and place all system valves in the “open” position
to allow water to ow freely from the pool and spa back to the pool or spa. Stand clear of all pool and spa
equipment and start the pump.
IMPORTANT: Do not close lter manual air relief valve until all pressure has been discharged from the
valve and a steady stream of water appears.
Observe lter pressure gauge and be sure it is not higher than the pre-service condition.
Section 1
General information
Check carton for any evidence of damage due to rough handling in shipment. If carton or any pump components are
damaged, notify the carrier immediately.
Failure to follow the safety instructions may result in serious adverse health effects, or even serious or
fatal injury. Failure to follow the safety instructions will in all cases invalidate all guarantees and liability
on the part of the manufacturer.
• This pump is equipped with a mechanical seal.
• Avoid dry run of the pump. Always ensure pump is lled zwith water.
• Please follow instructions for lling up the pump according to installation and instruction manual.

Application
Only to be used to circulate swimming pool water.

Installation
• Install the pump as near to the pool as practical.
• Use a direct and short suction line with continuous slope in order to avoid long priming times.
• The pump should be placed on a at, solid foundation, high enough to prevent ooding of the motor.
• Install the lter and pump in a sheltered location, ensuring ventilation and adequate access for servicing.
• Do not mount electrical controls directly over pump.
• Provide adequate oor drainage to prevent ooding.
• Size all piping adequately and keep the number of elbows to a minimum.
• Independently support the pipe near the suction and discharge of the pump in order to reduce the strain.
• Avoid overtightening pipe connections. Use only pipe sealants formulated for plastics. Do not use petroleum based
products. It is essential that the suction line is free of air leaks. The suction line should always be at least the same
size as the suction inlet of the pump.
Section 4
Union Adapter Installation
The following describes how to install the locking union adapter onto the pump.
1. Glue PVC union adapter tting to PVC pipe.
Adapter accepts 75mm PVC pipe internally
or a 3” PVC coupling externally. Be sure that
the groove for the retainer ring is on the end
opposite your glue joint.
2. Slip nut on tting. Place the at side of
the retainer ring against the adapter on the
grooved end. Gently ex the locking clip union
nut retainer ring into place on the adapter. Start
snapping it into the groove on one end of the
ring and work your way around.
3. Slide the nut over the ring and attach it
to the pump. HAND TIGHTEN THE NUT to
secure in place.

Electrical Installation
The electrical motor must be wired by a professional according to this installation instruction and all applicable local
regulations. The professional installer should foresee that the motor has sufcient motor protection. All electrical data
should be utilized from the motor nameplat.
The supply voltage should be within ± 5% of the design voltage, specied on the nameplate of the motor.

Make sure that you turn off the power supply when connecting the cables of the pump
Please check the turning direction of three-phase motors following each connection. If this does not correspond to the
arrow on the motor two connections in the junction must be reversed. Every motor must be permanently grounded.
Connections which are not conform to the above mentioned safety instruction are not covered by the
warranty.
Section 6
Start / Operation
Starting the pump
• Fill pump strainer with water to suction pipe level.
• Lubricate the lid O-ring with silicone each time it is removed.
• Energize the motor, the pump will prime. The priming time depends on the suction lift and distance from the pool.
Five minutes is a reasonable time.
• Pump will not lift more than 2,5 meter (7 ft.). If pump does not prime, see troubleshooting guide.
Maintenance
The strainer basket should be daily removed and cleaned. Never operate the pump without its strainer basket.

Winterizing
• Protect the pump from freezing.
• Remove all plugs and drain the pump and all piping.
• Store drains and plugs in the strainer basket.
• Remove the pump to a dry and warm room.
• Do not wrap the motor with plastic covering as condensation may damage the pump.
• In installations where the pump cannot be drained, a 40% propylene glycol, 60% water solution will protect to -46°C
• Do not use other anti-freeze solutions, these are all highly toxic and will damage the pump.
Section 6
Servicing
Risk of electrical shock or electrocution
This pool pump must be installed by a licensed or certied electrician or a qualied pool serviceman in
accordance with all applicable local codes and ordinances. Improper installation will create an electrical
hazard which could result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers, or others due to electrical
shock, and may also cause damage to property. Always disconnect power to the pool pump at the circuit
breaker before servicing the pump. Failure to do so could result in death or serious injury to serviceman,
pool users or others due to electric shock. Read all servicing instructions before working on the pump.
DO NOT open the strainer pot if pump fails to prime or if pump has been operating without water in the
strainer pot. Pumps operated in these circumstances may experience a build up of vapor pressure and
may contain scalding hot water. Opening the pump may cause serious personal injury. In order to avoid
the possibility of personal injury, make sure the suction and discharge valves are open and strainer pot
temperature is cool to touch, then open with extreme caution.

Pump Disassembly
1. All moving parts are located in the rear subassembly of this pump.
2. To remove and repair the motor subassembly perform the following procedures:
a. Turn off the pump circuit breaker at the main panel.
b. Drain the pump by removing the drain plugs.
c. Using an open end wrench, remove the six (6) nuts that secure the main pump body (strainer pot/volute) to the rear
subassembly.
d. GENTLY pull the two pump halves apart, removing the rear subassembly.
e. Remove the three hexagonal head screws holding the diffuser in position.
f. Using a 3/4 inch socket wrench, hold the impeller securely in place and remove the impeller lock screw.
NOTE: The screw is a left-handed thread and loosens in a clockwise direction.
g. Remove the motor fan cover using a screwdriver.
h. Using an adjustable wrench to hold the motor shaft, twist the impeller counter-clockwise to remove it from the shaft.
Be sure not to scratch or mark the polished shaft seal faces; seal will leak if faces are damaged.
i. Remove the four (4) nuts from the seal plate to the motor using a 9/16 inch wrench.
j. Place the seal plate face down on a at surface and press out the ceramic part of the mechanical seal.
k. Clean the seal plate, seal housing, and the motor shaft.
Pump Reassembly/Seal Replacement
1. Install the SPRING END onto the impeller shaft. Be
sure BLACK/CARBON face is facing outward.
2. Remount the seal plate to the motor using the four
(4) lock washers and four (4) nuts.
3. With the white ceramic face facing outward, press
the seal into the seal plate with your thumbs and wipe
off the ceramic with a clean cloth.
4. Hand tighten impeller onto the motor shaft.
5. Screw in the impeller reverse lock screw (counter-
clockwise to tighten).
6. Install the fan cover on the back of the motor.
7. Remount the diffuser onto the seal plate. Make sure
the plastic pins and holding screw inserts are aligned
(see “TOP” indicator).
8. Assemble the motor subassembly to the housing.
DO NOT tighten the nuts and washers until all four (4)
motor bolts are in place. Using a torque wrench, install
and tighten the four nuts to a torque value of 11,2 nm
(maximum). CAUTION! DO NOT overtighten the nuts.
9. Fill the pump with water.
10. Reinstall the pump lid and locking ring; see SECTION 3, Maintenance.
11. Reprime the system.
The Shaft Seal
1. The Shaft Seal consists primarily of two parts, a rotating member and a ceramic seal.
2. The pump requires little or no service other than reasonable care, however, a Shaft Seal may occasionally become
damaged and must be replaced.
The polished and lapped faces of the seal could be damaged if not handled with care. In mild climate area, when
temporary freezing conditions may occur, run your ltering equipment all night to prevent freezing.
Restart Instructions
If the pump is installed below the water level of the pool, close return and suction lines prior to opening hair and lint pot
on pump. Make sure to reopen valves prior to operating.
DO NOT run the pump dry. If the pump is run dry, the mechanical seal will be damaged and
the pump will start leaking. If this occurs, the damaged seal must be replaced. ALWAYS
maintain proper water level in your pool (half way up skimmer opening). If the water level
falls below the skimmer opening, the pump will draw air through the skimmer, losing the
prime and causing the pump to run dry, resulting in a damaged seal.
NOTE
Continued operation in this manner could cause a loss of pressure,
resulting in damage to the pump case, impeller and seal.

Priming the Pump
1. The pump strainer pot must be lled with water before the pump is initially started. Follow these steps to prime the pump.
a. Remove the pump lid and locking ring.
b. Fill the pump strainer pot with water.
c. Reassemble the pump lid and locking ring onto the strainer pot. The pump is now ready to prime.
d. Open the air release valve on the lter, and stand clear of the lter.
e. Turn on the switch or time clock.
f. When water comes out of the air release valve, close the valve. The system should now be free of air and
recirculating water to and from the pool.
g. This pump will prime within 13 minutes. Do not allow your pump to run longer than this time without
developing full ow. If the pump does not prime, see the “Troubleshooting” section below.
Section 6
Troubleshooting
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR ELECTROCUTION.
Improperly installation will create an electrical hazard which could result in death or serious injury to pool users, installers,
or others due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to property.
1. If you are not familiar with your pool ltering system and/or heater:
a. DO NOT attempt to adjust or service without consulting your dealer, or a qualied pool professional.
b. Read the entire Installation & User’s Guide before attempting to use, service or adjust the pool ltering
system or heater.
2. SWITCH OFF power to the pump before attempting service or repair.

Slide the motor and seal plate away from the volute.
Clean debris from impeller.
If debris cannot be removed, complete the following steps.
(1) Remove impeller reverse screw and O-ring.
(2) Remove, clean and reinstall impeller.
(3) Reinstall anti-spin bolt.
Reinstall diffuser and O-Ring.
Reinstall motor and seal plate into volute.
Reinstall hardware around seal plate and volute and tighten securely.
Clean suction trap.

risque est présent si un couvercle d'évacuation est manquant, cassé, desserré, ssuré ou sécurisé de manière incorrecte.
Entraîner un enchevêtrement des cheveux : Si les cheveux sont enchevêtrés ou coincés dans le couvercle d’évacuation, pigeant
par conséquent le nageur sous l’eau. Ce risque est présent si le débit du couvercle est trop faible pour la ou les pompes.
Piéger le corps : Si une partie du corps est maintenue contre le couvercle d’évacuation piégeant par conséquent le nageur sous l’eau. Le
risque est présent si le couvercle d'évacuation est manquant, cassé ou si le débit n'est pas assez élevé pour la ou les pompes.
Entraîner une éviscération / un démembrement Quand une personne s’assoit sur une piscine ouverte (particulièrement les pataugeoires
pour enfant) ou la sortie du spa et si l’aspiration est appliquée directement sur les zones intestinales, causant des blessures graves. Le risque
est présent si un couvercle d'évacuation est manquant, desserré, ssuré ou sécurisé de manière incorrecte.
Entraîner un piège mécanique : Quand des bijoux, le maillot de bain, les décorations pour cheveux, les doigts, les orteils ou les
articulations sont pris dans l'ouverture d'une sortie ou d’un couvercle d’évacuation. Le risque est présent si un couvercle d'évacuation
est manquant, cassé, desserré, ssuré ou sécurisé de manière incorrecte.

POUR MINIMISER LES RISQUES DE BLESSURES PAR PIÈGE D'ASPIRATION :
• Les piscines et les spas devraient être équipés de deux évacuations minimum par pompe.
• Chaque couvercle d’aspiration doit être installé à au moins un mètre (1 m) l’un de l'autre, du point le plus proche au point
le plus proche.
• Inspectez régulièrement tous les couvercles pour vérier la présence de ssures, de dommages ou d'effritements avancés.
• Si un couvercle est desserré, ssuré, endommagé, cassé ou manquant, fermez la piscine ou le spa immédiatement, arrêtez
la pompe, posez un signal d’avertissement et maintenez la piscine ou le spa fermé jusqu'à installer un couvercle homologué.
• Remplacez les couvercles d’évacuation si nécessaire. Les couvercles d’évacuation se détériorent avec le temps en raison
de l’exposition à la lumière du soleil, des produits chimiques de piscine et des conditions météorologiques.
• Ne mettez pas les cheveux, les membres ou le corps à proximité d’un couvercle d’aspiration, de l'évacuation ou la sortie
d'une piscine.
• Utilisez un système d’anti-attrappement de sécurité (« SVRS »), un système de limite d'aspiration ou un système d’arrêt
automatique de la pompe.
• Désactivez les sorties d'aspiration et recongurez-les en entrées de retour.
PRESSION DANGEREUSE : ÉLOIGNEZ-VOUS DE LA POMPE ET
DU FILTRE PENDANT LE DÉMARRAGE.
Les systèmes de circulation pour piscine et spa fonctionnent sous haute pression. En cas d’entretien
de n’importe quelle pièce du système de circulation (par exemple, bague de retenue, pompe, ltre,
vanne etc.), l'air peut entrer dans le système et être pressurisé. L’air sous pression peut séparer
violement le couvercle du boîtier, le couvercle du ltre et les vannes, causant des blessures graves
voire la mort. Le couvercle de la bouteille du ltre et le couvercle du pré-ltre doivent être sécurisés pour
empêcher toute séparation violente. Restez éloigné du système de circulation lors de la mise en marche
ou du démarrage de la pompe.
DANGER ! Les commandes électriques comme les interrupteurs marche/arrêt, les timers et les systèmes de commande,
devraient être installées pour permettre à la pompe ou au ltre de fonctionner (démarrage, arrêt ou entretien) sans devoir mettre
une partie du corps sur ou à proximité du couvercle du pré-ltre de la pompe ou du couvercle du ltre. Une telle installation devrait
permettre à l'utilisateur de rester éloigné du ltre et de la pompe pendant le démarrage, l'arrêt ou l'entretien du système.
Avant l’entretien de l’équipement pour piscine et spa, notez la pression du ltre. Vériez que toutes commandes sont positionnées
pour garantir que le système ne se met pas par inadvertance en marche pendant l'entretien. Coupez le courant de la pompe.
IMPORTANT : Mettez la vanne de purge d'air manuelle du ltre en position ouverte et attendez que la pression du
système s'évacue.
Avant le démarrage du système, ouvrez entièrement la vanne de purge d'air manuelle et mettez toutes les vannes du système
en position « ouverte » pour permettre à l'eau de circuler librement de la piscine, au spa et inversement. Restez éloigné de
l’équipement pour piscine et spa et démarrez la pompe.
IMPORTANT : Ne pas fermer la vanne de purge d'air manuelle avant que toute la pression soit évacuée et qu'un ux
constant d'eau apparaisse.
Observez la jauge de pression du ltre et vériez qu’elle n’est pas supérieure aux conditions préalables à l’entretien.

Informations générales
Vériez l’emballage de la pompe de tout signe de dommages dus à une mauvaise manipulation pendant le transport. Si le carton ou
les composants de la pompe sont endommagés, notiez immédiatement le transporteur.
Ne pas suivre les consignes de sécurité peut causer des effets néfastes sur la santé ou même des blessures graves
voire la mort. Ne pas suivre les consignes de sécurité invalidera dans tous les cas les garanties et exonèrera le
fabricant de toute responsabilité.
• Cette pompe est équipée d’un joint mécanique.
• Évitez de faire fonctionner la pompe à sec. Vériez toujours qu’elle est remplie d’eau.
• Veuillez suivre les instructions de remplissage de la pompe conformément au manuel d’installation et d’instructions.

Installation
• Installez la pompe à proximité de la piscine en veillant à être aussi pratique que possible.
• Utilisez une conduite d’aspiration courte et directe en pente continue pour éviter d'augmenter le temps d'amorçage.
• La pompe devrait être placée sur une fondation solide et à niveau, et élevée de manière à éviter les déversements sur le moteur.
• Installez le ltre et la pompe à un emplacement sous abris, en assurant une aération et un accès adéquats pour l'entretien.
• Ne pas installer de commandes électriques directement sur la pompe.
• Fournir les évacuations sufsantes au sol pour empêcher les inondations.
• Tous les tuyaux doivent être de longueur égale et veillez à minimiser le nombre de coudes.
• Soutenez indépendamment la conduite à proximité de l'aspiration et de la décharge de la pompe pour réduire la tension.
• Évitez de trop serrer les raccordements de conduite. Utilisez des produits d'étanchéité pour conduites en plastique. Ne pas utiliser
de produits à base de pétrole. La conduite d’aspiration doit absolument être dépourvue de fuites d’air. La conduite d’aspiration
devrait avoir la même taille que l’entrée d’aspiration de la pompe.
Section 4
Installation de raccord union
Vous trouverez ci-dessous les instructions pour installer le raccord union de blocage sur la pompe.
1. Avec de la glue, collez le raccord union en PVC à la
conduite en PVC. Le raccord est compatible avec une
conduite en PVC de 75 mm en interne ou un raccord
de PVC de 3’’ en externe. Assurez-vous que la rainure
pour la bague de retenue se situe à l'extrémité opposée
du collage.
2. Enlez l’écrou sur le raccord. Mettez le côté plat de
la bague de retenue contre le raccord sur l'extrémité
rainurée. Pliez légèrement la bague de retenue de
l’écrou union à clip de fermeture pour la mettre en
place sur le raccord. Insérez-la dans la rainure sur une
extrémité de la bague de retenue et faites le tour.
3. Enlez l’écrou sur la bague et xez-le à la pompe.

Installation électrique
Le moteur électrique doit être câblé par un professionnel conformément aux consignes d’installation et toutes les réglementations locales
en vigueur. L’installateur professionnel devrait prévoir une protection sufsante pour le moteur. Toutes les spécications électriques se
trouvent sur la plaque signalétique du moteur.
La tension d’alimentation doit être à ± 5 % de la tension de construction, spéciée sur la plaque signalétique du moteur.
