Switching on
1. Placethe uniton aflatsurface. Plugthemains leadinto a wallsocket
and switch on at the wall socket.
Setting the time zone
To set your clock radio to another Time Zone, please proceed as
follows:
Note there are 24 time zones programmed into your CD clock radio
as follows:
ZONE 00 - GMT ZONE 12 - GMT +/- 12
ZONE 01 - GMT -1 ZONE 13 - GMT +11
ZONE 02 - GMT -2 ZONE 14 - GMT +10
ZONE 03 - GMT -3 ZONE 15 - GMT +9
ZONE 04 - GMT -4 ZONE 16 - GMT +8
ZONE 05 - GMT -5 ZONE 17 - GMT +7
ZONE 06 - GMT -6 ZONE 18 - GMT +6
ZONE 07 - GMT -7 ZONE 19 - GMT +5
ZONE 08 - GMT -8 ZONE 20 - GMT +4
ZONE 09 - GMT -9 ZONE 21 - GMT +3
ZONE 10 - GMT -10 ZONE 22 - GMT +2
ZONE 11 - GMT -11 ZONE 23 - GMT +1
1. Press and hold the Time Zone button. The clock display will show
the time zone setting icon and the Zone 00 setting.
2. Whilst holding down the Time Zone button press the Tuning Up or
Tuning Down buttons to select your time zone.
3. When the correct time zone is displayed, release the Time Zone
button.

Setting the time and date
Note: When the unit is set to CD mode or radio you cannot set the time
and date.
1. Press and hold the Time Set button for 2 seconds.
2. The clock display will change to show the time setting icon and
the minutes will flash.
3. Press the Tuning Up and Tuning Down buttons to increase or
decrease the minutes.
Note:Forrapidtimeadjustment,pressandholdtheTuningUporTuning
Down buttons.
4. Press the Time Set button again. The hour will flash in the clock
display.
5. Press the Tuning Up and Tuning Down buttons to increase or
decrease the hour. The clock uses a 12 hour display with an AM and
PM indicator. Ensure that the correct 12 hour cycle is selected.
6. PresstheTime Setbuttonathird time.The daywillflash inthe clock
display.
7. Press the Tuning Up and Tuning Down buttons to increase or
decrease the day.

8. Press the Time Set button a fourth time. The month will flash in the
clock display.
9. Press the Tuning Up or Tuning Down buttons to increase or
decrease the month.
10. Pressthe Time Set buttonafifthtime.Theyear willflashintheclock
display.
11. Press the Tuning Up or Tuning Down buttons to increase or
decrease the year.
12. PresstheTimeSet buttonafinaltime tostore thesettings.The time
setting icon will disappear.
Ifyoupausefromsettingthetimeanddateatanypoint,formorethan
9 seconds, the display will revert to normal operation.
Summer time
1. To adjust the clock to summer time, press and hold the Summer
Time button for approximately two seconds. The icon will
appear in the display and the time will increase by one hour.
2. Toreturnto wintertime, pressand holdtheSummer Time button for
approximatelytwo seconds. The icon willdisappear in the display
and the time will decrease by one hour.

Listening to the Radio
1. Switch on your radio by pressing the Radio On button.
2. Thebacklightwillchangefromgreentoorange.Theradioicon and
thestationfrequency will show in the display. After approximately 10
seconds the display will revert back to showing the time.
3. The current waveband is displayed at the top of the display. To set a
radio band (FM or MW), press and release the Radio Band button
until the required band is shown.
4. Tune in to the desired station by pressing the Tuning Up or Tuning
Down buttons. The station frequency is indicated in the display.
To tune to a station automatically, press and hold the Tuning Up or
TuningDownbuttonsuntiltherequiredstationfrequencyflashesin
the display.
The Wire aerial located on the rear of your CD clock radio is for FM
reception. The wire should be fully extended and positioned for
optimum reception.
For MW reception there is a built in ferrite aerial. Rotate your CD
clock radio to the position giving best reception.
5. Adjust the volume by rotating the Volume control.
6. When the selected band is FM and the station being received is an
FM Stereo station the stereo icon will show in the display,
otherwise the mono icon will be displayed.
7. Press the Display button at any time to switch between clock and
radio displays.
8. TheradiocanbeswitchedoffbypressingtheStop/Offbuttononthe
topoftheunit.Thebacklightwillreturn togreen andthe clockdisplay
will show.

Storing stations in memory
1. Tune in the radio to the required station.
2. Press the Memory button. The Memory indicator will flash on the
display.
3. Selecttherequired memorypositionby usingthe F.skip/Mem. Upor
B.skip/Mem. Down buttons. The position number will show on the
display.
4. Store this station by pressing the Memory button.
5. Repeattheabovestepsuntilyouhaveprogrammedallyourfavourite
stations (maximum 15 stations for FM and 15 stations for MW) into
the memory.
6. Use the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/Mem. Down buttons. to cycle
throughyourprogrammedstations tolistentothematanytime whilst
in radio mode.

Compact discs
Use only Digital Audio CDs which have the symbol.
Never write on a CD or attach any sticker to the CD. Always hold the CD
at the edge and store it in its case after use with the label facing up.
To remove dust and dirt, breathe on the CD and wipe it with a soft,
lint-free cloth in a straight line from the centre towards the edge.
Cleaning agents may damage the CD
Do not expose the CD to rain, moisture, sand, or to excessive heat. (e.g.
from heating equipment or in motor cars parked in the sun).
Warning: CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT means that the laser's
construction makes it inherently safe so that the legally prescribed
maximum permissible radiation values can never be exceeded
Caution: Using any equipment or devices other than those described
and specified in these operating instructions, or tampering with the unit
in any way, can result in dangerous exposure to radiation.

Inserting a CD
1. To open the CD compartment, lift the CD door on the edge marked
'Open'.
2. Press the CD onto the spindle and close the CD door.
3. Press the Play/Pause button to enter the CD standby mode.
4. Press the Play/Pause button on the top of the unit again. The CD
player will scan the contents of the CD and the total duration of the
CD will appear in the display along with the total number of tracks.
The backlight will change to red and the CD icon will appear.
After a few seconds the display will revert back to clock mode.
5. PresstheDisplaybuttonatanytimetoswitchbetweentheclockand
CD displays.

Playing a CD
1. PressthePlay/Pausebuttontostartplayback.Thedisplaywillshow
the time elapsed for the current track. The track number will show on
the right side of the display.
After a few seconds the display will revert back to clock time.
2. Adjust the volume to the required level by rotating the Volume
control located on the right hand side of the unit.
3. To pause playback press the Play/Pause button. The track time
elapsed and the track number will appear in the display. To resume
playback press the Play/Pause button again.
4. PresstheDisplaybuttonatanytimetoswitchbetweentheclockand
CD displays.
5. To stop playback, press the Stop/Off button. The display will show
thetotalnumberoftracksontheCD andthetotaldurationofthedisc.
6. TotakeouttheCD,opentheCDcomportmentbyliftingtheCDdoor
ontheedgemarked'Open'andpressdownonthespindletoremove
the CD. The CD door should only be opened when the CD is in Stop
mode.
7. Press the Stop/Off button again to return to clock mode. The
backlight will change from red to green.

Selecting a track
Use this function to select a track on the CD.
1. Whilstthe CD is playing, press either the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/
Mem. Down buttons to change to the desired track. You can also
skip tracks when the player is in stop mode. Skip to the desired track
using the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/Mem. Down buttons.
2. Press the Play/Pause button to play the selected track.
Search function
Use this function to find a particular musical passage within a track.
1. WhilsttheCDisplaying,pressandholddowneithertheF.skip/Mem.
Up or B.skip/Mem. Down buttons.
2. The track time elapsed will show on the display. Release the button
when you hear the desired passage.

CD repeat mode
Use this function to repeat a single track or repeat the entire CD.
1. Whilst the CD is playing press the Repeat button once to repeat the
currenttrack.The repeat track icon will appear and the selected
track will be repeated indefinitely.
2. Press the Repeat button again to repeat all tracks on the CD. The
repeat CD icon will display and all the tracks on the CD will
be repeated indefinitely.
3. Tocancel repeat playback repeatedly press the Repeat button until
the repeat CD icon disappears. Normal play will resume.
CD random mode
Use this function to play tracks on the CD in random order.
1. Whilst the CD is playing press the Repeat button three times. The
RANDOM/REPEAT play indicator will appear and flash in
the display.
2. Press the Repeat button again to repeat all tracks on the CD in a
random order.
3. TocancelrepeatplaybackpresstheRepeat button againtoresume
normal play.

Programmed play
Use this function to programme the player to play selected tracks on the
CD in the order that you want to hear them played. A maximum of 21
tracks can be programme.
Note: You cannot programme the CD whilst it is playing. If the CD is
playing press the Stop/Off button to stop playback and the display
shows the total number of tracks. After you press the Memory button,
you must select a track number and press the Memory button again
within10secondswhiletheMemoryindicatorisflashing.Iftheindicator
stops flashing, the unit will exit the programme mode and the track
number will not be entered in the programme memory.
1. WhilsttheCDisinStopmode,presstheMemorybutton.Thedisplay
will show ‘P_01’ and the Memory indicator will flash.
2. Select the first track using the F.skip/Mem. Up or B.skip/Mem.
Down buttons. The track number selector will show on the display.
Store this track by pressing the Memory button. The selected track
is entered into the programme memory and the display advances to
'P_02'.
3. Repeat the above steps until you have completed your programme
(maximum 21 tracks). Press the Play/Pause button to commence
playoftheselectedtracks.Thedisplaywillshowthefirstprogrammed
track number for a few seconds and then return to the correct time.
4. Afterallprogrammedtrackshavebeenplayedtheplayerstops.Ifyou
pressthePlay/Pausebutton,theprogrammedtrackswillplayagain.
To cancel programmed playback, stop the playback by pressing the
Stop/Off button.
Note:Youcanprogrammethesametracktoplaymultipletimesifdesired.
If you press the Skip up or Skip down button to select tracks but forget
to press the Play/Pause button, after 10 seconds the unit will return to
thecurrenttime.If youwantto switchoffthe unitatthismomentpressthe
Stop/Off button twice.

Erasing a programme
1. Programmes are erased by pressing the Stop/Off button, or
interrupting the mains supply.
Setting Alarm Times
Your unit has three separate alarms (Alarm 1, Alarm 2 and Alarm 3) that
can be set and used independently and can be set to wake you with the
radio,theCDplayerorbyabuzzer. Youcanusethealarmstowakethree
people at different times with 5 wake up options:
1 - 5 Monday through Friday
1 - 6 Monday through Saturday
1 - 7 Every day
6 - 7 Saturday and Sunday only
7 - 7 Sunday only
The procedure for setting the alarm times is the same for Alarm 1, Alarm
2 and Alarm 3
Note:YoucannotsetthealarmtimeswhentheCDorRadiofunctionsare
selected
To set the alarm times:
1. PresstheStop/Offbuttontoensurethattheunitisintheclockmode
(green display).

2. Select the required alarm system (Alarm 1, Alarm 2 or Alarm 3) by
pressing the Alarm Set button until the alarm system you require is
shownin thedisplay.The displaywillchange fromthecurrent timeto
the alarm time.
3. Press either the Tuning up or Tuning down buttons to select the
mode of alarm that wish to be woken up by, i.e radio , CD or
buzzer .
4. Pressthe TimeSet button to confirmthemodeandtheminutesicon
will flash in the display.
5. Press the Tuning up or Tuning down buttons to increase or
decrease the minutes.
6. PresstheTime Setbutton to confirmtheminutesandthehoursicon
will flash in the display.
7. Press the Tuning up or Tuning down buttons to increase or
decrease the hours.
Note: The clock uses a 12 hour display with an AM and a PM indicator.
Ensure that the correct 12 hour cycle is selected, i.e. AM or PM indicator
illuminated.
8. PresstheTime Set button toconfirmthehoursandthetimeinhours
and minutes will show in the display.

9. Press the Wake button as necessary to set the alarm day options.
Thedisplaywillshowtheapplicablenumbersasshownbelow forthe
setting selected:
1 - 5 Monday through Friday
1 - 6 Monday through Saturday
1 - 7 Every day
6 - 7 Saturday and Sunday only
7 - 7 Sunday only
10. Press the Time Set button to confirm the alarm day choice.
Radio
- Switch on the radio by pressing the Radio On button.
- Select the required waveband by pressing the Radio Band
button until your preferred radio band is selected.
- Tune in to the station you require using the Tuning Up or Tuning
Down buttons. The frequency of the station that you have
selected is shown in the display.
- Adjust the volume by rotating the Volume control.
- Press the Stop/Off button to turn the system off and return to
the clock mode.
CD Player
- Insert a CD in the CD player.
- Press the Play/Pause button to enter he CD mode.
- Press the Play/Pause button again to start playing the CD.
- Adjust the volume by rotating the Volume control.
- Press the Stop/Off button twice to turn the system off and return
to the clock mode.
