DESIGN SOUND
TOUCH LESSONS & ENTERTAINMENT
88-key stereo multi-sampled piano engine.
The onboard voice engine features multi-samples meticulously captured from a
full concert grand piano. As such, it truthfully reproduces the characteristic ring
and tone of each individual key. In addition, "Piano Resonance" reproduces
subtle variations in aftertones and string resonance that are characteristic of
grand pianos. With a maximum polyphony of 128 voices, the DP-990R can
handle the most demanding performances without note dropouts.
Authentic sound and expressive response.
3D Sound Control creates a dramatic sense of depth, and
Dynamics Sound Control makes each note distinct. The
DP-990R's high-quality piano sound is reproduced through
a bass-reflex speaker cabinet.
Continuous-detection pedal.
Reproduces subtle changes in the sound according to damper contact with
the strings, and controls the amount of release vibration when the pedal is
stepped on gradually.
Innovative Ivory Feel keyboard.
The DP-990R’s Ivory Feel keys are made of moisture-
absorbent material that offer the natural look and tactile feel of real
ivory and ebony.
The touch and response of an acoustic grand.
The natural touch of a grand piano has been
reproduced based on hammer movement — not
with springs — giving the DP-990R a beautiful
and authentic touch. The keyboard's escapement
mechanism produces the beloved "clicking" feel of
a grand piano.
Lesson functions onboard!
Build your skills with the DP-990R’s built-in metronome and recorder. You can
also divide the keyboard into two zones using the Twin Piano function, allowing
your instructor to play along in the same pitch range during personal lessons.
Play along with your favorite songs.
The DP-990R can play back its onboard songs, music from CDs*1, and music
files stored on USB memory devices. You can even change the tempo and key
in any of these formats. The DP-990R can also play back only the left- or right-
hand parts of its onboard songs and music files for practice. With the optional
CD-2e*2you can create original CDs of your performance.
*1 When used with optional USB CD drive (CD-01A). *2 See www.roland.com/products/en/CD-2e for details.
